Hi there blog friends. Popping in with a theme card today. I love themes, but I can’t say I can whip them up quickly – the card kind of evolves over time. What an opportunity to use a unique trinket or some special charm you have laying around. Oh and it’s definitely a chance to get a little techniquey! Today I’m showing a brand new background stamp from JustRite Stampers called Vintage Map Collage Background Stamp. I’ve have been chomping at the bit to use this one, it just arrived this week. I think it’s the perfect stamp for a travel journal – that’s next on my list (wink)!
I found an antiquey looking paper in my stash and stamped my image with Stazon Ink. I dry brushed on distressed inks and in some places touched with a less than damp brush to blend. I distressed the edges of the map and smudged them with distress ink. Rolled up two corners and underneath I nested Spellbinders™ S5-090 Romantic Rectangles for a petticoat look. For a little bit of dimension, I cut out the compass with Spellbinders™ Standard Circles SM and popped it up on foam tape after rimming with a gold pen. My ribbon was distress with Vintage Photo Distress Ink and then I stamped my sentiment inside a label holder which I backed with one of the filigree elements from Spellbinders™ S4-362 Ribbon Buckles. The main panel is mounted on a textured paper that reminds me of the texture of a suitcase. That layer is then mounted on gold foil. Lol, I got my hands a little bit dirty on this one :-)
This is a little bit different from my normal day to day card, but it was great to dig in and get my hands inky. Have you fallen in love with those Romantic Rectangles yet? I have a feeling I’ll be using them a lot!

Whew, TGIF!!! I’m ready for the weekend, how about you? I’ll be back with something new soon.
Lvoe the distressing and colour combo! Fabulously done!
Great card, as always. Yes, I love the new Romantic Rectangles too. They’re on my wish list, but I’ve got so many other Nesties that need some love, I’ve put my buying on hold – at least until the new stuff is available at my LSS.
Becca, I love this! I love the old world feeling it gives. It is beautiful as usual. Great job.
Oh, Becca, This is gorgeous!! I love things that have an old world look to them. This is amazing, and a lot of work. I made a project using the same colours and old world look a while back. I just love those new Spellbinders that are being demonstrated at the Spellbinders blog frenzy. I see you are using one of them in this project. Just love the card!
Oh my goodness Becca, you’ve topped my list again! Its so amazing that you come up with these beautiful cards. Love your work so much!

Hi Becca,
Your card is gorgeous. The way you distressed and rolled the edges of the map stamp is fabulous. I love your use of the romantic rectangles die and you always tie the most amazing bows. Your cards are a constant source of inspiration. I hope you get to travel soon so you’ll have photos to put in your travel journal!
Many blessings to you,

Oh Becca!!!! I love this…..I just gotta pop over there and see the stamp myself…..this one is headed to my stash…..thank you for sharing…
This one have history and a lot of “panache”.
Good week end.
Wowza, so, so beautiful. Lovely colours. The ribbon is a perfect touch.
You’d better not give that one to anybody. It should be hanging on your wall as art! That is just gorgeous
It’s a very beautiful card. I love it very much. Love that stamp. Thanks for sharing,
It’s awesome Becca!
This evolved into a Old Word beauty. Your card is beautiful Becca. Love the colors and the layout. Love it when you use a stick-pin. You have embellished just so nicely. It’s very eye catching how you have layered the paper under the main focal off to the side for a nice added touch. Beautiful work. As always Becca, TFS!!! :-D
Glad you got a little outside of your comfort zone to create this masterpiece! I love all your work but I really like this creation as I teach
alot of vintage pieces for my altered books classes. In face, my local consignment shop sells some of my vintage style cards. Anyway, I love how you used the rectangle die peaking out in a “petticoat style” – very
creative.
Love the old world look! This would work very well for masculine cards, which are mostly what I have to do!
A little different for you, but still beautiful. More my style with all the distressing and darker colors. I’ll probably be CASEing this one in the future. Love that new background stamp!
I love this, it’s gorgeous!
WOW this is gorgeous!! I love the old world feel. So pretty as all your work is!!

so very BEAUTIFUL!!! Love the vintage-ness of this card.
Love this “old world” look, Becca! Everything works wonderfully together!
Absolutely fabulous. I am totally in love with Romantic rectangles and I don’t even own them yet! LOL! Beautiful card Becca, I love the vintage feel and I have always thought adding touches of black is highly under rated – black makes verything else POP!
Hugs,
Beth P
Oh, this card is breathtaking. What beautiful colors and what a vintage look and feel. Your cards are just beautiful. Words can’t express how lovely.
Thanks for a talent such as you.
Charlene
This is so beautiful…these are often my colors!!! I just love this, each detail is so perfect! You have truly done a special piece of ART!!
WHACK!! That was the sound of my jaw hitting the floor! I don’t even know what to say except WOW! That’s fabulous!
That is soooooo pretty! You have amazing talent!
WOW WOW WOW just LOVE it!
Sensational! I love the look of anything old, historic, ancient. You’ve captured the feel to a “T”. This is truly impressive. But then again, is there anything you do that is not truly impressive? I think not. I bless the day, I tumbled on to your blog. Thank you, Becca!
This is my favorite kind of cards. Vintagey, with the aged colors that Distress Inks are known for. As the others have said the new rectangles are going to be a hit with me too, I can just tell! LOL. We would love for you to do a tutorial on how you make the different kinds of bows. You got it all down and they are lovely.
I just linked to Spellbinders but there is no S5090 romantic rectangles on their site that I could find. That will be a favorite for sure as it adds so much to a composition.
Wow…your work truly inspires me…I love this travel one.
Another spectacular creation! Love the vintage look, your color combination is a favorite of mine.
I love what you’ve done with the travel theme, Becca! It’s rich with interesting details and layers of texture…full of wonderful discoveries…just like traveling! C’est magnifique!
Love the travel theme! Fun to get inky once in awhile, isn’t it?! Love those Romantic Rectangles! Firt on my list of must haves! Enjoy your weekend.
Unbelievable. (I’ve obviously been on facebook too much as I was looking for the ‘like’ button on everyone’s comments!) That is so stunning! This for sure is one of my all time favourites of yours! And yes, I like them all.
Becca, this card is perfect! I love it. The color combo is just right. I love the vintage and distressed look. When I first opened your blog and saw this card, I said WOW! You are so talented. Thanks so much for sharing.
Your card is beautiful. God bless your amazing talent. Thank you for sharing your ideas and inspiration! Now I’m in the mood to create some art! :)
Beautiful!
Becca this is beautiful. I love all those warm tones in this card. I am in awe of your imagination. You come up with fantabulous cards all the time!
You’re right, it’s not a “normal” (is there such a thing?) Becca card, yet I think if I saw it someplace else I’d know you made it. It has that Becca touch! Really like it , the old world, vintage-y world traveler feel. There something about getting your fingers inky and messy isn’t there?
Hugs to you,
R/
Becca!!! I’m YELLING your name!!! This is INCREDIBLE! I know you know you have a gift. When it comes to cardmaking, you got ALL of the gifts!
My dear precious Becca…you are amazing and fill my days with wonder and delight…it does my heart good to look upon your beautiful blog…keep going you have a wonderful gift…and we are honored that you share it with us….:)
Hi Becca,
sorry I am so late (early for me at 4.45am) commenting; I haven’t been sleeping very well and seem to be up at night alot again and sleeping thoughout the day.
Anyway, I truly love todays card. I like you, love to get a bit grungy and grubby now and again to be able to produce something alittle different from the norm. Your inclusion of the metal luggage tag is lovely, it adds a real sense of authenticity to the overal appearance.
This is a real winner in my eyes (not that all your cards are not beautiful).
All the best Linda
WOW! Amazing Paper Grace! TFS.
Love this distressed look you have choosen for this card. JR stamp is wonderful, and to answer your question, YES I have fallen in love with those Romantic Rectangles. I am also loving that red faux leather background paper that you used. Awesome card Becca.
Marcie
Becca…..jaw dropping gorgeous!!! I LOVE this style of card and you pulled it off beautifully.
Hi Becca,
Ooh La La! C’est magnifique! I say , this is a bit exotic and flirty . Having the black romantic triangle underneath the furled map plus the whole French thing makes it a bit Moulin Rouge. I love it -it’s georgeous!
Love ,
Cynthia
This is fabulous, I love that BG stamp, I think I need that one!!
Your creations take my breath away. I noticed when looking at this totally awesome card that you do such a wonderful job of showing off your work with the things you put in the background when you photograph your cards. Thank you for sharing your beautiful cards with us!
I do love the new look. I am definitely in love with the rectangles. Enjoy your weekend! Hope it is a happy one.
Well worth the inky fingers I’d say! Just gorgeous, you do shabby really well. Or is it Vintage…I never really know. Thanks for sharing this lovely creation.
Wow! This is amazing! Love the beautiful color and all the layers of detail!
OH MY GOODNESS!!! This is AWESOME!!! I love all world maps and I just love the coloring, distressing, sponging, curling you did. The book plate and textured papers are great touches. I will have to say the romantic rectangle dies are my favorite from the release.. a must have :)
Wow! This is amazing! Love everything about it!
Blessings Bernie
I LOVE it! That card actually feels so French and chic with the map and compass and the finishing touch for me was the pearls, I always think of pearls when I think of Paris. I love the new stamps and what you have done with them.
TFS
LOL Eileen
Everyday brings a new ahhhhhhhhh… moment for me. Your creativity astounds me. Thank you for sharing your talent.
Oh My Becca!!! This is a “So Not You” card, but it is “So You Gorgeous”. LOL I have to get the Vintage Map Collage Background stamp!!! I can’t wait to see your journal. I keep saying I will make one for the trips we take, but never find the time before we leave. I have bags and bags of brochures, ticket stubs, booklets and such from our trips. Some things get put in scrapbooks, but others, I hold onto. I think a journal is a good place to keep them along with the photos I haven’t scrapped.
Just got back from Archivers where my daughter showed me paper similar to what you used in your card and I said noooooo, not what I am looking for, now I looked at your card and thought Oh Rats!
I love this, the colors, the old world map, the layering….everything! No, it’s not your normal look, but it’s gorgeous none the less. For some reason, I was really excited to see this card–really love the colors on it.
Actually, I’ve always wanted to learn how you end up working for companies creating projects for CHA and other events or publications! That’s not really a craft I want to work, so here’s my other answer: like you, I’ve always wanted to learn stained glass. Especially how to repair older stained glass. We have an old stained glass panel over the main window in our dining room (one of the main things that attracted me to the house!) and it got broken several years ago. I recently watch a program on fixing stained glass and it didn’t seem difficult, but this is too important for me to take on as a newbie!
LOVE those Romantic Rectangles ~ those will definitely be on my list of “must haves”!!! Becca, you’re such an enabler!
I have always wanted to learn how to do tatting. I remember my grandma doing it when I was a little girl. In fact, I think I have her tatting tool around here somewhere. I don’t know anyone that does tatting, so I don’t know who could teach me. Maybe I’ll try looking it up online to see if I can find directions and figure them out.
Thanks for the chance to win that gorgeous paper!
You never cease to amaze me with your talent Becca. This card is no exception — wonderful!
This is SUPERCALAFRAGILISTIC EXPIALADOCIOUS (SP)!!!
Hugs, Chris
Simply gorgeous Becca, I love theme’s also and I adore your antique look and really love the Paris look about the whole card.. You did a fabulous job on this one… as alway…
Hugs, Jean

I love this card and all the golds and browns!
I would love to learn to knit. I have seen many beautiful things to make. Also, Becca, thank you for sharing your wonderful talent with all us. I would love to learn to make my cards as beautiful and professional as yours. I still lack the look of a professional card like you make. Such an inspiration my dear. I know who is in your heart and mind and guiding your hand in all your God given talents. Thank you.
Donna
