Sweet friends, I promise that I’m going to set aside this die after this card goes out. After a week of using Spellbinders Gate Element, I can’t tell you how many times I cut that one die. When I was finished with the series, I probably had 30 diecuts left over. It just so happens that after going to CHA, I have a number of Thank You cards to get into the mail. I know myself too well and if I hold out and make unique cards, it will take me forever. If I go ahead and make similar cards, I can get it done pretty quickly. With the leftover diecuts from this week I started playing around and came up with this design that is very similar to the Victorian Fans I’ve made over the years and the latest I made HERE and the folded flower I made back in 2010, HERE. They were my inspiration for a simple two diecut thank you card using eight of the die cut leftovers. Each die cut was folded in the center the each side folded to the center again – essentially into quarters. I stapled the end of each piece then hot glued them to a small circle in the center. For the tag I used Spellbinders Back to Basic Tags.
The card measures 5″ x 7″ and is being sent in the clear box so I won’t have to worry about the filigree getting crushed. I have a several more to make, and to keep things easy, they will all be a variation of this design. No worries about the clear box, HERE is the last card I sent that way and it arrived in pristine condition!

Question Parking Lot:
Many of you asked where I get my clear boxes. The answer is I have a large steel rule die that cuts those boxes and I buy the acetate in bulk – I have had it for years and years and made that purchase because my bulk use of the boxes made it make sense. The clear plastic I’m using is quite heavy .02″ in thickness. Here are two options that are much more cost effective than the acetate I’ve been using:
Amazon.com – minimum quantity is 10 – these are clear top only but will give the same result
Clearbags.com – minimum quantity is 25 – these all clear
I’ve heard people use the latter for sending through USPS with no problem, but in all honestly I’ve not used this brand myself. Hold on tight though, I’ll message clearbags and ask for a sample and will let you know the result. I’ve seen their brand on many of the Papercrafting/Stamping Online stores.
Becca oh wow that does make a wonderful fan and I also would make many the same… saves time.. and anyone receiving this gorgeous card would be thrilled.
Hugs Trish.
Absolutely stunning as always.

Hi Becca, your cards are amazing and I enjoyed them all this week. I am a new subscriber so I haven’t had time yet to check out your past work BUT I will. TFS!
That is very pretty and creative. Is that a clear mailing container you use? If so, what is the normal cost on something like that?
Beautiful!
OH my goodness! Whoever gets this will be squeeling!
What a great way to use leftovers. So beautiful Becca!
Hi Becca, I don’t usually send feedback but after watching your creations for several years I can’t resist telling you you divinely creative you are. You are blessed with such talent that it inspires me to push the envelope.

As always,, I love your card! They’re always so beautiful and feminine!!
Question: Where do you get your clear boxes? I finally got around to doing my version of your Nov 5 card and have it ready to send, but the presentation would be even better with a clear box.
Gorgeous use of your left overs!!
Becca,
Like D.Ann, I too wonder where you get card size clear boxes?
This is truly awesome and actually pretty simple, even though it does look simple!! I love doing duplicates where the receipents will not see what someone else gets. After putting together the first one, things go so much easier for the rest. LOL

Hi Becca
I love what you did with your left overs, I also like trying to make use of left overs, but do not have as much as you do. You always come up with such lovely cards, wish I could do the same.
Stunning card.

Becca, this is just beautiful. I am sure the recipients will love their thank you cards. I may just have to buy this die so I can make a fan card too. Love it.
So clever. Love it. Looks like I’m going to have to buy another die, sigh ????

Simply Stunning love the layering and the Elegance. thanks for sharing your Amazing projects. Love each and everyone.
Love, love, love this! And the idea for packaging…genius!
It takes a clever mind to be able to take what others might consider as scrap material and turn it into such a beautiful creation as this. I just love the recycling aspect and it’s gorgeous too.
Thanks for sharing the idea to mail a high dimension card in a clear stationary box. Have a blessed week.
Are you kidding me???? This is gorgeous! What a brilliant way to use the gate die!! I know you get tired of me saying this, but you really are a paper genius. Thank you for sharing this beautiful card!
Becca: What an exceptional card and use of the gate die. The effects are stunning with a Victorian flair. Thank you for sharing and hope to be a recipient of this elegant creation.
Just beautiful Becca, so, so pretty.

Hi Becca
Your card is amazing and to think it is made from leftovers. I can’t wait for my gate die to arrive and try these gorgeous creations. Do you make your own boxes to fit the cards?
Regards Kerryn
Becca I love seeing your creations! You are such a tremendously inspirational person! Thank you so much! Beautiful cards!
So beautiful!!!! I always think your last card or creation can not be beaten, but this card is stunning. Love Helen
What a lovely, lacy fan. You always make my day!!
Your cards are absolutely beautiful and this one tops the list. It is so soft
and the “fan” just floats. Thank you for sharing!
S T U N N I N G. this is such an elegant thank you card. I wish I had half of your creative brain.
Card is beautiful, but my question is regarding the steel rule that you use to make the clear boxes. What brand, where do you get them and do you have a picture of one? I want to make my own box to mail in too that is clear. Thanks, Arah
Your card creations are simply sweet and beautiful. I so appreciate your sharing the different places to purchase our craft products. Referring to the clear boxes to mail our more bulky creations, the price of shipping caught my attention! Here’s what I found:
I found the shipping for Clearbags 25 minimum order boxes would be $11.99 plus $4.00 fee, while the cost of the product is only $15.25. Oh my goodness. Amazon”s price about the same but the cost to ship was 7.95 if not a Prime member.
I’ve never seen a card of yours that I didn’t love, but these cards made with leftovers is absolutely gorgeous. Maybe it catches my eye more because of the airiness of the die. Anyhow, love your cards.
Oh my – posting in a handmade clear box – so that everyone can see that gorgeousness! They are in for a treat :o)
I have my doubts about whether such an item would survive the UK postal system…
It is too beautiful to take the risk over here.
Hugs

boxes from clearbags are wonderful. I have mailed in them for several years now.

And as for you Becca, all those things on that calendar page are so true about YOU. You are amazing and we all love you even though we’ve never met! Have a wonderful day.
Love this – Love this……I save all my left overs and am burried in them, but I do use them when I can ! Nothing like this tho…..and can’t wait for the Gate die to arrive so I can hopefully make something similar. Thanks again Becca for all you do. Blessings !

You are so creative. I hope with more years under my belt I will be as creative as you.
You are simply wonderful.
Becca, That is such a sweet card and so elegant, love the pastel colour.
Amazing!
OK, I love every single one of your creations but when I saw this it took my breath away! You never cease to amaze with your artful creations. Blessings to you!
Beautiful and elegant card. I love everything lacy and filigree, about Spellbinders dies….they add graceful elegance to handmade cards and make beautiful keepsakes as well. Very nicely done.
Becca, Oh how fortunate Spellbinders are to have you as a designer!! I am sure they are aware of that, but I just have to tell you as well…. I just went to Spellbinders site to look at the “Gate Element” die and I have to be honest, had I not seen your card, I would not have purchased that die!! I would not have said anything that beautiful was made from that die!! Your vision amazes me. When I look at that die I think “A steel gate?” What could I do with that? I can tell you that I do want to buy that die now!! You do such a wonderful job!! Your talent “inspires” me to try to make a card as elegant as yours. It does not come close but I enjoy trying. You are always singing everyone’s praises and we are the ones that are benefiting from your work. As always, thank you ever so much for sharing your talents with all of us. Bi Hugs, Linda
