Okay, I’m working on some projects so I didn’t have a project ready to post. Do you know that that means? That means, I’m going to dig into my stash of things I’m really not sure about sharing. I suppose that every blogger has such a stash. I’ll preface this project by saying that "it’s different". So many of you often say that you like how much I think outside of the box. Well, I’ll admit, this is out of the box and over into the next box, lol!! Truth be known though, I like it – it’s different!!
This is something I put together to send to CHA. I’m not sure if it was on display or not . . . if it was, I’m totally amazed that someone didn’t come back to me and say hey, that thing you made . . . it’s different! I don’t know why but these little chairs are something I absolutely adore. I have one in my studio where it hangs on the wall and it displays my favorite wooden stamp of the moment. I have one in my bedroom that has a bowl where I keep my rings, I have one in my family room that has a figurine of a cat laying down. I had one on my desk that had my pencil cup on it. You get the picture . . . I like these little chairs. I took the one from my desk and thought it would be a neat thing to make it into a rolodex. Yeah, you were probably wondering what the heck is was.
The chair was plain, unpainted wood so I painted it with ivory paint and distressed it. Oh, did you notice the pages of the rolodex and the notecards in the seat were made from the new Spellbinders Octagons and Scalloped Octagons? I love that shape!!
So humor me today. . . is it really that different?
Well, yes it is different from a card – but it is beautifully different. I live in England so don’t know why I am asking but where did you get the chairs? Love them.
This is beautiful. I love the colors, the pleating . TFS
Oh that is BEAUTIFULLY DIFFERENT!!! Oh my word I love it!!!
This is BEAUTIFUL!
Becca, this is gorgeous! It’s very different, which is great! I love the wonderful, creative, and beautiful ideas you bring to us…someone needs to be out on the edge…and you do it so beautifully! LOVE IT!
Fantastic! It IS different. And it is functional and beautiful and creative! I think it is a very “happy” work of art!

~~Diane~~
This is just gorgeous! I would have never thought of this…where does your brain reside?? I love those little chairs, too. But I love how you made a Rolodex and placed it on the chair. Too cute!!!
Well I think you should do different more often, I love everything you make and this is no exception. It is gorgeous!!! What a cute idea and lovely gift that would make someone.
Beautiful work of art. It is good to think outside the box. You do it brilliantly and inspire all of us, to push ourselves to be more creative. I’ve just done a bamboo tile swap and loved it and that wouldn’t have happened if someone else had not inspired me. Thanks for all your shared ideas they are beautiful.
Hugs x Christine
What a beautiful rolodex; so pretty and feminine. You certainly have a knack for making “different” utterly gorgeous.
It’s absolutely beautiful. I also own a number of those rocking chairs but they all seem to have teddy bears in them. Keep up the good work.
It’s so Cute! I too love the little chairs. It is so creative. I love the new Spellbinders Octagon shapes. The shapes are set off so well too, by the way you bordered it in the soft green solid. I want one now….
This is beautiful. When you think outside the box great things happen. I love the chair.
Thinking outside the box is GOOD! Your project is so sweet. I really like the little chair idea (especially the one you have on your wall).
i love the colors you chose, but the *out-of-th-box* creativity is wonderful! i DO like it ~ it’s different!
secondly, your photography is like the sun on your face after a long winter ~ warm and inviting!
You are amazing! This is the only blog I visit that I know there will be something different every day. Again you are my favorite and I am just overwhelmed by the creativity our Lord has given you. Most of all I am thankful that you share your inspiration with so many!!!

Absolutely different – form and function meet beauty and creativity, perfect! Wish I could send my brain to hang out in whatever box yours is in.
Wow — this is very creatively different! I love it. Where did you get the chair?
Very, very pretty. Cute idea. Great colors.
This is definitely different, and I absolutely love it! If you have any more of these different types of delightfulness, I’m sure there are quite a few of us who would love to see them. Bring ’em on!

I think like the others before me, it’s beautifully different. I would love to have something like that. And you are right, those chairs are just too cute!
It’s beautifully different. And I love those chairs also. I have one, only it is a little longer, kind of like a bench chair, that sits on the bookcase headboard of our bed with a doll that was made for me.
I really like to see things outside the box, makes for more of a challenge and gives you lots of ideas. Thanks for sharing this. And if it wasn’t displayed at CHA, it should have been, same on them.
Totally beautiful and original — as always!
Oh my, I just love what you did…great job, Becca.
This may be different but it is truly beautiful. Your creations amaze me and I really enjoy each and every time I open your blog. I was wondering what paper did you used for the back ground of the rolodex cards?
Thank you for sharing.
First post to you Becca. I love your site ,the colors you use to the way you put your cards together and even this lovely chair. Beautiful…
What can I say…I’m in awe! Just beautiful, Becca.
THUD ….. SHUT UP …… GET OUT OF HERE GIRL! Becca, oh my word, how could you not think we wouldn’t be totally amazed with this project. It’s the cutest, most adorable thing ever! Where in the world did you get that chair, okay, now I need to shut up and go back and read your post . . . . LOL! I was too amazed by your project to get through it all without commenting.
In a word……stunning!
I need one right now. :-)
You are one amazing lady.
Thanks for sharing your works of art with us.
xxx
It is just darling! I have a few of those chairs too but they are wood colored. I have some strange fascination with them too!
Becca,
You have done it again! Beautiful!! Love the idea. I like the ideas of thinking out of the box. You can create so many things that are beautiful and usable. I too would love to be able to watch you create your creations. You need a trip to Kansas, you need a trip to Kansas. (subliminal suggestion, is it working?) Thank you for sharing your awesome talent.
Blessings,
Deborah
Your chair is adorable! What a wonderful improvement over the boring old rolodex. I have really been enjoying your blog – so many creative ideas. Thanks for sharing your talent.
Judy
Becca,
Your chair is darling! So unique and definitely out of the box. Love your creations! Did you decorate your other chairs?
Shirley L.

It absolutely is different – and really sweet! It makes a boring, functional office item into something pretty with personality!!
I have one of those chairs in my spare room with a fairy sleeping on it. She may get the boot! I love this idea!
Anna Banana
I wish I could learn to think like that! Love it! TFS!
Breathtaking, Becca. I must confess that your website is my all-time favorite and the only one I CANNOT WAIT to open. Please don’t leave us hanging…will there be instructions for this adorable rolodex? (PLEASE say “yes.”)
What a great idea!! It is something beautiful to look at when looking for your addresses or anytime. Love it!!!
It is absolutely adorable!!! So stinking cute; I love the note cards – what a great shape for a rolodex and the pink and ivory are just fabulous!!!
How big are the chairs…I’m guessing they’re small…just curious “how” small and where might one find them?
You know…we all want to be like you! :D
You are soooooooooooooo “coolio”. This is “off the chain”. This is “the bomb”. You get the idea (yes, i have teenagers). I love this cute little rolodex. Girl, you are one of my favorite creators eva!!!ms.cheryl
Now that is the COOLEST rolodex I ever saw! It is awesome!
Barb
Becca, I love projects like this, and yours is so beautiful. I love the colors and the papers. Where do I find the chairs…I NEED these darling rolodex chairs for some gifts! Thanks…Joyce
It may be “different” Becca, but it sure is gorgeous. I am at work 9 – 11 hours a day, and I have my office decorated in “my” style and they are OK with it, but some of the guys say it’s too Frou Frou, and don’t stay too long. It even smells “girly” because I have a clean cotton fragranced smelly jelly out. This “Rolodex” would go PERFECTLY with my collection! Wonder how much you’d charge me to part with it??? Hmmmm, or do you think it could be blog candy? Silly me, I could probably make it if I would take the time…..but teasing aside, it is absolutely stunning. Keep thinking “waaaaaay outside the box,” it gives the rest of us a goal to achieve. I wanna be Becca when I grow up!
Love and God Bless,
Debi from Rittman, OH

I love your rolodex it isn’t different it’s unique. Besides being functional it is decorative. I love the paper on your pages and where did you get the print for the pages? Lovely project. TFS Ann Lind
Becca you’ve done it AGAIN….the rolodex is too pretty to use, almost. Great and different idea….where did you find the cute chairs?

Yep, its different! And very beautiful and creative. I work all day and use a rolodex several times a day, but I would never have thought to make something like this that I would actually enjoy looking at as well as it being useful! You have beautiful ideas.

Oh Becca!
What a treat! That little chair is absolutely adorable! Thanks for putting a smile on my face this afternoon…
Dusty
This is fabulous – and this was in your ‘not sure’ pile? – I think I need to give up now!! Lol.
How precious! I so adore soft willowy colours like this and the chair is simply charming. Why not make it practical, as well?!
Remember the wooden chairs we made as kids? They were made with popsicle sticks. Can’t recall how at the moment, but it might be a frugal way of making many for say, a baby shower?! Yup, I can see the imagine in my mind’s eye right now :) Baby’s name, weight, etc.
Thank you for all your unbridled inspiration! You’ve taught me so much about details and I’m having fun playing with all sorts of piddly little wonders I had forgotten I even own.
Too cute! If the other things in your stash are as neat as this, please share!
Yes, very beautiful. PLEASE say you’re giving instructions for this project. It’s by far my favorite. The most BEAUTIFUL ever !
If I just got this as a gift… my heart would be the happiest ever. Not only because it is sooo beautiful, but because it shows lots of love and care! This is absolutely SUPER DOOPER BEAUTIFUL!!!
I love when people think outside the lines, and create something totally different. What a wonderful different project. And so very unique.
Becca, I think this is just adorable! My grandpa used to make mini chairs and rocking chairs when I was a kid and I can’t tell you how many of these I had in my house growing up! Your post brought back memories and what a fun and creative way to use one!!
Gosh, I hope you don’t hesitate to share your outside the box things again, Becca, because this is totally fabulous! I don’t think you’re capable of making anything I don’t absolutely love. What a sweet idea for a Rol-o-dex. And, yes, I was wondering what it was at first, but now I can easily see… This is just so darn pretty!
I love it, would like to make one myself….hummmmm now to find the chairs in Australia!
Becca,
Ok, your creativity never ceases to amaze me. Yes it is different, but in a very good way! It is so adorable. I’ll bet you could sell these. Where on earth did you get these little chairs? I hope I am not the only one to ask that. Anyways, thanks so much for sharing this. This is the best example of thinking outside the box that I have ever seen.
Love it!
Lisa A.
It is different, it is not humorous, it is gorgeous, it is essence.
It shows elegance, it is sweet, with the pattern you chose,
totally increditible.
God has been good to you, Becca.
Thank to Him for you, and Glory to Him because of you.
This is totally gorgeous and I want one – I’m in England too and dont know where to get a chair like that! A tutorial on how to make the rolodex would be great xx
Well, I’m not for sure which ‘box’ you were in…. but it is wonderful!
Becca,
Don’t ever worry about posting something you consider odd. We, who follow your blog daily, love everything you show us. When I grow up I hope to have half the talent of you.
Janice

What an amazing project! I love anything functional that is also creative and displays some personality. You certainly did a wonderful job with both. Your photography is totally professional!
Becca,
I saw your chair photo and I thought, wait, I have seen that before….then I remembered it was on display in the Spellbinders booth. I helped put out some of the artwork and it was used.
Love it, just as I love all your artwork!

I can’t believe you were *sitting* on this project!! OH MY WORD is this not only creative, but STUNNING!! I wish I had just half of your creative brain!! WOW!!
This is neat. This is the type of item rich people would have 100 of these made to send to people as an invite to a party (to be remembered).

Looks beautiful, though! Wish I was as talented!
Before we moved 5 yrs ago, my house was decorated in the cottage style. This would have fit right in. I still would buy it!
This is my first time reading your blog, found you from the cuttlebug blog.
Bookmarked you, so I’ll be checking you out again.
[…] many people asked me to show the step by step pictures I took when I was making THIS chair. You’re probably wondering why I took the pictures. Well, I’ve learned that […]
Your work is INCREDIBLE.
God Bless you for sharing your talent
