In 30 Minutes or Less

What a glorious morning dear Blog Friends!!  Wanna make a card in 30 minutes or less?  Eeek, every time I manage a feat like that I feel like I have to talk about it.  After all, it is much like the solar eclipse that’s going to happen on Sunday – RARE!!!  So yes, it’s true!!  This is the simplest card I’ve made in many moons.  I knew that I wanted to use Spellbinders™ Damask Motifs to make a flower, then I realized that half a circle would make a sweet bouquet!  Earlier I spied a brand new set of sentiments from JustRite Papercrafts and thought how lucky I was to finally have “Save the Date” from the new Summer Words set.  Voila, a simple and easily replicated dressy card that themes into “Save the Date”.   White on white, chock full of pearls and full of lace – who wouldn’t save the date???  To finish off the card I stamped the sentiment on Spellbinders™ Picot Edged Circles, ran pearl cotton through the holes and tied it to my bow.  Yes, and really, really, really, within a half an hour :-)

SUPPLIES I USED
StampsJustRite PapercraftsSummer Words
Paper:  Xpedx Brilliant White 120lb cover (card base), Strathmore linen (flower)
Ink: Versafine Onyx Black
AccessoriesSpellbinders™ Damask Motifs, Spellbinders™ Picot Edged Circles, Zva Creative Pearls, Recollections Pearls, Spare Parts Pearl Brad, Lace, Satin Ribbon

Hugs to you all, can I mess with your mind?  I dare you to venture a guess how many glue dots I used for the bouquet (wink)!  Thanks for stopping by, see you soon!!

GORGEOUUUUUUSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This would make a WONDERFUL Christmas or even Wedding card!!!!!!!!!!!! WOW!!!!!!!!!! :)

Guess on the glue dots: 75 !!!!!!!!! :)

Since I KNOW you don’t like snakes Becca! Here’s what happened to us yesterday! Between 2:30-3 p.m., I was watching my TV show “Wind At My Back.” Our daughter jumped up & ran down the hall calling, “Daddy!” I asked, “What???” & got up moving toward her still asking, “What?” I thought it was a spider! There was a SNAKE on our mantel!!!!!!!!! It was about a yard stick long! My husband thought it was a Copper Head at that time. Once he got it killed & outside he came back in & there was ANOTHER ONE coming out of the fireplace!!!!!!!!!!! :0 That one got away! It was just as big as the other one! So, my husband pulled the mantal off the wall, after we removed everything on the mantel. AND he pulled out the innards of the fireplace (gas), disconnecting…(we’d planned on that anyway.) And he sealed up EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!!!!! I had forgotten just how I feel about snakes! Remembering, when we’d go to the zoo, I DIDN’T want to go into the Reptile building AT ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My husband now believes it was a Rat Snake! IIIIIIIIIIIICKKKKKKKKKK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!ReplyCancel

Beautiful…and just in time for an event I need to make a card for! I’m guessing between twelve and sixteen depending on how many were used on the folds??????? Who cares, it’s so pretty!ReplyCancel

  • Carol WMay 17, 2012 - 8:51 am

What a beautiful card, and what a fun question! Hmmm, I’m thinking 2 dots per edge to hold the individual motifs together, then a dot on the underside of each motif to adhere to the card… That’s about 13 dots?
Of course, you may be asking because the motifs hold really well with little adhesive and you used a record low number of dots! Say, 4?ReplyCancel

  • Dottie DavisMay 17, 2012 - 10:05 am

This is fun, guessing glue dots on your card. Actually these little tricks help us learn how to put these projects together so thank you for that! This card is awesome and can be adapted to any occasion. How we need those quick cards instantly some times. So, I would guess the glue dots at about 36 not including attaching the bow. That probably would be attached by some glue, score tape, or Guber dots. Though the loops may have one dot each on them bringing the total to 40 to 42. A little ambiguous answer! Thanks for sharing this with all of us.ReplyCancel

  • Lynn WildMay 17, 2012 - 10:07 am

Your card is amazing, just like you are. You do influence me to try to do better on my cards and gift wrapping.
Was invited to a bridal shower and the invitation was in black and white. I bought black and white paper and and white ribbon with black dots, so far so good. I kind of patted myself on the back because my package looked really good, in my opinion (a 6 qt. programable crock pot from the bride’s wish list). Picked up the package as I was ready to go out the door and every ribbon fell off the package along with a bow Becca would be proud of. I wasn’t late to the shower. Now to answser your question, how many glue dots, I used 22 for my package do-over.
Maybe for your card 18. God bless and have a great day!ReplyCancel

Your card is absolutely gorgeous! I just have a quick question…do you only make cards that you give in person or do you ever make a flatter card that can go in the mail? I would love to see some of your ideas in a flatter version!ReplyCancel

Simply breath taking . I do not know why but I seem to think you can not go wrong with a white card. I think it is like fashion with the little black dress.
