Greetings glimmeristas! Today, we are launching The Gilded Age – a small glimmer collection with some exquisite plates. Join us as we introduce five new Glimmer Sets (some with dies) and 1 brand new Die Set that has matching glimmer plates. We’ve eased into the beautiful habit of building card layers and layering frames with foil and the Spellbinders Glimmer Foil System. These metal plates are just like stamps and can be used for letterpress and deep embossing as well as transferring gorgeous foils to many items. So, welcome to The Gilded Age Collection – I’d love the share the inspiration for the collection below.
Inspiration for The Gilded Age
My Projects For Today:
I’m tickled to introduce GLP-119 Gilded Leaves Shaped Panel. It contains both dies and plates.
It is a glimmer plate that three of us are introducing. We will each show you a different technique for displaying these sweet swirls. My representation is as a “Shaped Panel”.
Here is what the plates actually look like:
I so loved working with this set because of the multiple ways it can be used!! I’m using it one way, and both Kate and Judy on the link list below are using it in a totally different way. My hope was that it would be used as a ‘shaped panel’ and it’s a bit unique. For my first card here’s what I did:
- I laid out the dies for reference, then laid the plates into place.
- Before glimmering – I removed the dies as they were just for reference.
- After glimmering, I then die cut the panel.
- For the shadow layer, I simply moved my dies 1/4″ further apart giving me a larger diecut.
I love the depth that the shadow gives and having it all in one panel give a unique yet polished look!!

Becca congratulations on yet another beautiful set of creations that I have been watching. I must admit I wanted to see what would be announced today and started looking at 1 AM this morning. Yes, I admit I was excited as excited as when a child at Christmas! Thanks again for this gift and the joy from using them. I am torn between Gilded Vines Glimmer Hot Foil Plate and Gilded Trimmings Glimmer Hot Foil Plate as my favorites. I haven’t tried Glimmer yet but look forward to treating myself in the future.

Becca, seeing how you used the Gilded Leaves Glimmer Die has helped me fall in love with it! AS ALWAYS, SUCH AN ELEGANT CARD!!! LOVE the little swirl you added in one of the opposite corners as well. I am ALWAYS IN AWE!!! A FABULOUS HOP!!! EVERYONE did a WONDERFUL JOB featuring this collection! LOOOVE Judy’s little journals! I’ve been wanting to try the stamping with these glimmer plates! I DO have a Glimmer Machine–got it for Christmas! “My favorite” is hard to choose, because I want them ALLL!!! LOL My husband knows it too! My favorite way to use these dies, is to use them on a card front, with a lined image that I color. Usually flowers. The foiling looks like it is weaving in & out of the florals I do, like a ribbon! I’m ALWAYS trying to think of how to use my Glimmer Machine on every card I make now! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE these Glimmer Dies!!! ;)I am working on trying to figure out HOW to use them on your most intricate dies that I have…… I think a wedding card is coming up too….. ;)

Yesterday i took delivery of your gorgeous, gorgeous Vintage Treasure dies 4 sets with another on its way. These have to be your best collection yet. Just love the theme that runs through them all. My crafty friend and i usually don’t by craft stuff during lent, but this year we had an amnesty for Becca Feeken’s vintage treasures after seeing them on your Creativation video in January. Thank you they are beautiful.
Just when I think you can’t get even more creative, you come up with these! I love the elegant touches from these glimmer dies and stamps and my favorites are the rectangles and leaves.
I have several items from your Glimmer collection and I just love them. They are easy to use and produce such attractive results. I am excited about the new additions to the line and I can’t wait to try them. They will add that Becca elegance to my work!
