It Is The Journey That Matters

It has been a glorious weekend with weather that is starting to give me a full blown case of spring fever.  I was inside for a bit to play with toys and I pulled out a set of stamp pads that have graced my shelf, unopened, for more than two years.   I had fallen in love with {the thought of} these Tim Holtz Distress Inks by Ranger Industries.  As I cut open the shrink wrap, I cringed thinking that surely my investment had dried up and I was really fretting because I did not purchase any of the reinkers.

Yay!! When I opened them, they were nice and juicy, even though they sat idle for so long.  I wanted to use them to try to create an antique looking background for this stamp so I pulled out my stipple brushes and pounced away with several colors.  The card is relatively simple…I thought it might be a little bit too plain so I layered the sections of the diamond to give the card a little bit of dimension.

Supplies:

Stamps:  Stampers Anonymous

Paper:  Bazzill Bling, Marco’s Cougar Opaque

Ink:  Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink, Aged Mahogany Distress Ink, Vintage Photo Distress Ink

Accessories:  Black Embossing Powder, Black Brads, stipple brushes, Hobby Lobby Ribbon

Elegant card- I love how you used the Distress Inks (I bought mine 3 years ago with the reinkers and I like all of them but the one pad that hasn’t been opened!) The layered is a nice effect with the distressedness (I made up my own word!)ReplyCancel
