JustRite Christmas Joy

Today I’m sharing a card using the newly released JustRite Christmas Joy Borders and Centers Set.  In case you didn’t make it to the Blog Hop back on August 17th, JustRite released six new Christmas sets in preparation for the upcoming holiday season.  I just love the small ovals and the fact that Spellbinders Classic Ovals Large fits them perfectly is a bonus!

I was looking for a country feel here so I opted for my Basic Grey Wassail paper and some darkish colors.  I had some gingham ribbon that fit the mood as well.  I colored my center with Copic Markers and darkend the oval up with some Antique Linen distress Ink and a little bit of Vintage Photo Distress Ink.   The border was stamped with Versafine Sepia and distressed in the same way.  For that cute little ruffle, I just took a piece of 1 1/2" wide wired ribbon, folded it in half and pulled on the wires to gather it.  Using Zip Dry Glue, I secured the ruffle to another oval and popped up my border and Joy sentiment centered over the ruffle.   I mounted the whole ruffled medallion on a Spellbinder Fleur de Lis Pendant

Did you notice that my brads match the ribbon perfectly?  Tis no coincidence!   One of my friends lent me her new I-Topper tool from Imaginisce It’s a tool that lets you make brads in three different sizes out of a variety of pliable materials.  I used cut up pieces of my ribbon and was surprised how quickly I had these done.  The I-Topper lets you make brads in three different sizes and this is the smallest of the three.  If you haven’t seen it before, just click on the small thumbnail below and Vanna my friend Debbie Olsen is showing one off (at CHA).

Card Recipe:
Stamps:  Justrite Christmas Joy Borders and Centers Set
Paper:  Basic Grey Wassail, 140lb Strathmore Watercolor Paper
Ink:  Memento Black Tuxedo, Versafine Sepia, Antique Linen Distress Ink, Vintage Photo Distress Ink
Accessories:  Spellbinders Classic Ovals Large, Spellbinders Fleur de Lis Pendant,  I-Topper, Ribbon, Zip Dry Glue

Thanks for stopping by!  As we head into the end of the week be good to yourself :)
