I wanted to share something really out of character and fun that I made last month but couldn’t post until now. As you know there are tons of fun new Spellbinders templates that were revealed and out soon. One of the new templates that I had an opportunity to play around with included these fun duckies. The first thing that came to mind was pull toy I remember as a child. So, I sat down to recreate the toy.
How cute is that duck! All I did was cut a pair of each of the three sizes of ducks that comes in the Spellbinders™ S4-262 Nested Ducks set. I found three different sized ribbon spools (empty) and covered them with design paper and poked a hole in two opposite sides of the spool ring before gluing them in place with Zip Dry Glue. I also glued on unfinished wooden wheels in graduated sizes and topped them off with teeny tiny buttons. To finish off I threaded a cotton cord through each of the ducks and tied knots at the end. I fashioned a handle with two of the left over wooden wheels with a Spellbinders™ Petite Scalloped Circles LG sandwiched in between. The eye is a little white pearl that I painted black with my Copic Marker. Oops, don’t let me forget the little orange bows. Every once in a while ya gotta have fun, right!! I thought this would be perfect to accompany a baby gift or as a center piece.

aaaawwwww!! This is incredibly creative Becca! And can I just also say how it’s such a happy project to look at and super ADORABLE??????!!!! Im still smiling!
Oh my heavens is this adorable. You did an amazing job showing off the new die. Do me a favor, since you are on the spellbinders dt. request they make dies bigger than the original Nesties. Wouldn’t it be great to have a die to cut out the larger stamped images we have?
Thanks girl!
Can’t wait to see what you make next.

Pam

I want to leave a comment, but I am speechless…. if my mind were even one hundredth as creative as yours…! Where do these ideas come from?
You said you made these last month? So was that the same month that your life was in one huge upheaval?? I sure don’t know how you do it, Becca, but it looks to me that you have nicely managed to get “all your ducks in a row”, and on the right path to health and happiness in 2010!!
You are waaaay too clever Becca! I’ve bot a baby shower to go to next month and I’m in charge of bringing the cake. I think this duck train would like fantastic! It looks like I’m going to have to do some more shopping at Spellbinders! Thanks again for the inspiration and hope that hubby is still coming along well.
Hugs :-)
Becca,
Too cute!

You never cease to amaze me, Becca! Stunning creation and design! Lovely work!
How adorable! You really can think outside the box! What a great idea for a shower! I’m not even around babies anymore, but that’s so cute I want to make one!!!! Thanks for sharing!!
Now that “you have blown us away” with what you did with the nested ducks , what are your plans for the Owl? That is another one that didn’t inspire me when i saw it on the sneak peaks . However I await your magic touch before I rule it out LOL
That is truly cute.
How creative! I was looking at the duckies earlier wondering if I should get them and if so, how I’d use them…great idea!
Charmaine
Oh Becca!! What a great idea :o) You never cease to amaze me!!
Wouldn’t this be so cute for a baby shower and then as an ornament in the babies room? I don’t know how you found all the things needed to make it -but sure glad you did.
Hugs, Candy
How adorable!
Oh, my goodness you are so clever. Its a great idea and it would definitely look so great in a baby’s room. I can hardly wait for the new templates to come out, after the review I had made a preliminary list and now this one will be added to it.
Becca – I absolutely love this – enough to have to get the duckies, and I’m well beyond most people I know having babies and such. But it’s SO CUTE. I want to play with them now…I might even make a polka dotted duckie…
Well isn’t this just the cutest! I wish I knew people that are or are going to have babies so i could justify getting this set. Thank you for sharing the wonderful work that you do…Dawn
That is one of the cutest thing I’ve seen in ages. I’m so going to have to case this for a friend who is expecting her first baby this spring! This one is going to the top of my must-have list. Thanks so much for the inspiration.
CUUUUUUUTE!!!

How cute and inventive.
You and yours are in my prayers. Keep the faith, God is with you.
Becca, You’ve out done yourself again Girl!. How do you keep coming up with such fresh ideas? I do believe you have a remarkable talent! Thank you for the inspiration. I hope your Honey is doing better. Thinking of and praying for you both. Blessings! Patty W.
How fun and cute! Probably just the fun diversion from your norm of elegant pieces needed to bring you a smile last month : ) Thanks for sharing.
I’m with Barbara, any more ideas for the owl? : )
Don’t tell anyone, but I’m about ready to sell my Cricut and all the cartridges and invest all the proceeds into spellbinders nestabilities! My poor machine is sitting in my craft space gathering dust while I play with my die cutting and embossing. These cute duckies parading around an Easter table would be ever so cute.
Becca,
How cute is that. Now I must have these to make some for my great-grandaughter. She will love these I know. Thank you for a great idea.
‘Becca – this is so adorable – I don’t know how you come up with these ideas. I think we will all want to try to copy this one!!! What a novel gift to greet any new baby. Well done you.
Hugs

This is just gorgeous!!!!!!
Becca, I went to Spellbinders in hopes to purchase the duck template/Nestability and it wasn’t even listed, any idea why?
Oh my gosh Becca, this is absolutely adorable! Only YOU could come up with something so outrageously fun like this girl! It’s fabulous and makes great room decor for a nursery!
Are you kidding? These are so freaking cute. When will “The Becca” ever stop. (Hopefully never)
Thanks for continuing to inspire me and surprise me with your delightful designs.
Eli
This is wonderful! You have re-created it perfectly! You are fantastically talented and creative!

OMgoodness Becca!!! This is just too stinkin cute!!!
Thank you for sharing your talent and ideas! I used your idea for the Christmas ornaments with my students (the directions were modified to make them a little simpler) and they LOVED their projects. They were so excited to make things that came out looking so pretty and the rave reviews from others really made their day.
