Hi there friends, Happy Monday!!! I had a good weekend and hope you are starting off the new week feeling blessed. As usual I’m starting off the week with a Mojo sketch – Mojo Monday 189. The center flower was constructed with the flower loom I made. Incidentally since making that video, many people have emailed me that there are flower looms on the market, most notably there is one that is put out by Knifty Knitter. I was surprised to see this! The pegs are removable and it functions the same as mine however there is no nail in the center so that you can impale the ribbon in preparation for a brad. On this one you have to sew around to keep the loops in place. Their’s makes a larger flower and mine is 3.25 inches in diameter. I might have to find one of these today:-)
I took a tiny bit of liberty with the sketch and used a curved panel instead of a straight one, because I wanted to use another cupcake wrapper. So frilly and I didn’t have to cut it myself!!
SUPPLIES I USED |
Stamps: Our Daily Bread Designs – Mini Tags 3 Paper: My Minds Eye, Strathmore Acrylic, Coredinations Ink: Colorbox Chalk – Dark Maroon Accessories: Ribbon, Memory thread, Pearls, cupcake wrapper – Joanns |
Don’t forget to weigh in on my new poll!! Hey, and thanks so much for stopping by. I’ll have the winner of the Prima paper some time tonight.
I made an afghan out of these flowers around 20 years ago. Stitching around the flower center’s perimeter really stablilizes the flower. Your flowers, of all kinds, and cards are always beautiful and a total inspiration!
This is gorgeous Becca! I’m going to have to try that loom thingy!
Very pretty flower on that gorgeous card Becca. I feel like the card was made just for me because my birthday is on the 5th of this month. As always Becca, TFS!!! :-D
Love your card and LOVE your loom. Again, I wish you would decide to sell them. I would love to own one!!!
Oh boy, just another stunning card here with some of your lovely ribbons on. I must admit, I dragged my hubby inhere to watch your video, and he has promissed, that he would make one of these for me too, but I knew, we could buy them, but thought it´s cool, that you can use the nail so I could add a brad too, besides they´re very very expensive here, so it´ll still be a really good idea to make our own, at least here it is, so thanks again for showing us how it´s done Becca. Have a wonderful week ahead hun.
Who wouldn’t be elated to receive this beautiful birthday card?!
Our poor husbands. Yes mine has also promised to make the ribbon spooler and the loom. He was very impressed with both. Becca you are keeping us all on our crafty toes and I love it. And I like your loom a whole lot better then the one on the market. Thank you for all your wonderful ideas and cards.
Stunning as always Becca…your ribbon flowers are just sooooo pretty!
Off to see if I can source a flower loom in the UK now. Many thanks for so much inspiration.
Love Sheila xx
What a pretty card! I don’t think you need to worry about buying another loom since yours is working just perfectly! I love the sweet loopy style of your posy and the lovely pearl accents.
Thanks for sharing! :)
BEAUTIFUL CARD, Becca!!!!!! I LOVE that rich wine color!!!! :)
Thank You Becca for all that you do to inspire us to make beautiful cards and gifts. I made the wooden flower loom just as you described and I also cut out two rounds out of foam sheets to put at the bottom of the box to keep the nail straighter and centered. Also I purchased a plastic flower and yarn loom at Michael’s with a 40 percent off coupon. Although the loom makes several sized flowers it doesn’t have the anchor of the center nail. I’m so happy to show off my homemade loom with the box as a rivet storage. You have an amazing mind and a charming way of expressing all that you teach.
Thanks Becca for sharing this beautiful card. The wine colored bow makes it look so rich!
Blessings
Becca,
Yesterday I finally got to Michael’s and got the exact little round $1 box. Today I’ll check the hardware store for the rivets.
Did your peg bow maker anad couldn’t stop making bows when it was done.
Great “toys”
Thank you.

Breathtaking card. Love the color of that flower…wow. Could u please run the pictures of the loom that hubby made for u? Would love mine to make me one. Thanks so much Becca. Again you inspire us all to bigger and better things. I do feel blessed today.
Love this loopy look. I haven’t made mine yet, but it’s on my list to do. Also your bow maker. I have a bow easy, but it is NOT easy. Ribbon slips off and it’s difficult to manage. Yours is 300% better!
OH Yes I do feel blessed! Your card is as always stunning. Guess I’ve still got the Royal wedding in mind but your cupcake wrapper looks like a tiara.
Have an Amazing and Blessed Day

Pretty card and bow. I have all the material purchases to make a loom. Just have to have my son drill the holes for me. Anxious to try it. So pretty. Thanks again. Edna
I’ll have to find some of these cupcake wrappers you use. They are
so pretty and I won’t have to buy any Spellbinders! Today’s card is
just beautiful, love that homemade flower. I may ask my husband to
make a flower loom as my Mother’s Day gift. It’ll be homemade and
inexpensive. Thanks for all the inspiration.
Lovely card Becca…have to tell you too that I made one of your punch flowers from a few days ago….soooo easy and quick! Also enjoying my crystal candle holder for my card display and taking pictures! Woo Hoo…you are a treasure!!!!
Thank you soooooooo much!

I am loving thse cupcake wrappers you are using on your cards Becca, that curved shape just lifts that card as does your lovely ribbon flower.
LOL Eileen
A week ago I went to Michael’s and got their very last box…then hubbie took me to Home Depot, and we got the rivets……yippee. I’d rather have something we made (together, you know) than any store-bought product…lol Thanks for another beautiful card, although I must confess I have never seen those beautiful cupcake wrappers….
Lovely card!!! You’ve got to tell me where you get the beautiful cupcake wrappers!! I’ve seen you use others before this one and I have no idea where to get them… I had never even heard of them until I saw you use them.
This is so pretty! Love that pearl border and your beautiful ribbon feature. Thanks for playing along with Mojo Monday!
Hi Becca,
I bought a flower loom, but then I found this website, by Sarah Bradberry :/www.knitting-and.com/small-looms/ice-cream.htm
I made mine out of a plastic lid, and I like it better. I was able to reduce the size of the template on my printer, and got a really cute 1/2 flower in no time at all!
Hi Becca,

I made it out a yogurt carton lid. It was super simple.
I reduced the size of the template on my printer, and was able to make a cute 1/2 ” in. flower with yarn, in no time at all.

I’m sure your flower loom is more reasonable in cost and I think you’re brilliant to have come up with it!
You show us so many wonderful things. Today I have a card I am proud of, if you want to see what we Norwegians do in our spare time :-)
Have a nice week.
Another beautiful loom flower AND card! Hope you have a nice week Becca.
Absolutely gorgeous Becca. I just love this card. Thanks for sharing.
Becca, you are truly an inspiration. Your creativeness is astonishing. Thanks.
Love the design. The pearls border and flowers are stunning
Beautiful! I love the doily with the pearls.
Another Gorgeous card!! I love your cupcake wrappers. I must look for those next time I am at Joanns.
I love the colors on this card Becca! Just stunning! And I have seen the flower peg too, might have to check it out. Especially with my coupon!
ok so I make my first ribbon flower tonight (pat myself on the back because it came out really well). Now, I have adopted two little kittens, or shall I call them demons? They are sharing my studio with me because I have two older cats and I am trying to let them get together slowly. While I am making the flower the kittens are grabbing the ribbon and pulling on it making it difficult for me to make. Fast foward flower complete and I bring it downstairs to show my husband and the demons follow me down. Before I know it one of the demons (Butch) is on the piano knocking over pictures, so I put the flower down on the coffee table to avoid disaster on the piano. Well I look over and one of the older cats (Norton) is playing on the floor. So I am thinking oh cute he’s throwing one of the toys up in the air and playing (he’s usually pretty lazy). Just then I notice it is not one of the many toys scattered all over my house, it is the pretty ribbon flower I just made. ARRRGGGHHH!!! Had a good laugh!!!!
Sorry for the long post. Just though I would share.
Thank you for always being such an inspiration to try something new!!
This is one super stunning card and I love the colour
That flower is amazing

Beautiful card Becca, that flower is fabulous.
Hey Becca, I have an old…probably from the 60’s or 70’s bow maker. My mom used it to make bows for all her packages. She spent hours each year at Christmas making bows for each individual package, taking into consideration what the gift was and who it was for! (After laying tinsel on the tree… one…strand…at a… time!) This bow maker has pins, the head of which slides into the piece in the center piece. The end sticking up was sharp and used like your nail. I don’t know if there are still any pins made for this any more. I doubt it, but I think I’ll try to find them. They were good for a package, because you just stuck the pointy end into the box top. The pins wouldn’t work for card making. But I’m going to try to figure out how I could make it work. Hugs Jessica
This is a great card, I actually have the stripe paper and am currently using it on an record album scrapbook. It neat to see some one else using the same paper I use. Thanks for sharing your talent with all of us.
Your card on Mojo Monday this week was gorgeous! What did you use to do the curved filigree at the top?
