My Favorite Ornament

WRBF-1938-2010

Hi Friends!!  Yesterday I was brainstorming on another project and came up with this.   I’m mindful that I’m running out of time to show Christmas things so . . . I was trying to think of something different to do, and this is what came up.  I was happy with it and I have to say it looks better in real life.  I recently received the Spellbinders Heirloom Ornament because this month Our Daily Bread Designs released a design that fits inside the ornament.  The other ladies in the design team produced some stunning creations from A to Z with that die template – it left me scratching my head for what I could do that they hadn’t already done, lol!

Spellbinders Ornament and matching tag

Here you can see the entire project.  The ornament embellished with crystals, bow and a tag to match!

Tag to Accompany Spellbinders Ornament

The tag is cut from Spellbinders Labels Fourteen and embellished with a piece from Spellbinders Renaissance Hearts Pendants and uses a sentiment from one of the new Our Daily Bread Designs sets called Christmas Blessings. Did you check out the non-traditional Christmas colors – I love them although I love traditional Christmas colors too :-)

Spellbinders Ornament

Card Recipe:
Stamps: Our Daily Bread Designs: Christmas Blessings
Paper: The Paper Company, CTMH
Ink: Teal
Accessories: Spellbinders™ Labels Fourteen, Spellbinders™ Heirloom Ornament, Spellbinders™ Renaissance Hearts  Pendants, ribbon, crystals, gold cord

Thanks all for stopping in to see me today!  See you soon!!

  • Marcie SmithDecember 19, 2010 - 1:56 pm

This is so pretty Becca. I snatched this die set up as soon as they came out with it. I just knew that this was going to be a fabulous set for Christmas. Obviously I was not alone, because countless stamp companies have designed around this set. I have also seen tons of ornaments that have been made using it, but none as gorgeous as this one. Leave it to you to think up yet another masterpiece. This really is gorgeous and those chrystals add so much. I am so glad that you are back in the game. I have missed that creative mind of yours. I am just sorry that you had to go thru so much this year. You are definitely a trooper. Happy Holidays Becca.

I´m a big fan in Sweden. I think you are my best and biggest inspiration to my crafting but it get soooo expensive. ;) Here is another “must have” spellbinder that I need to buy. ( I have already bought things from JustRiteStampers and spellbinders aswell that you have shown on you blog)
I think my favourite things that you have done is the heartcornerpunched circle, the laced woven frame and this ornament. YOU ARE FANTASTIC!!!
My mind was with you in your difficult time and we ALL are lucky that you still have the mojo for crafting so you can inspire us even more.

This is awesome Becca, that’s another die I NEED now. I’m a bit late to try this, this year, but I know what I’d like dangling from my tree next year, and lots of them too, lol
Please post a tutorial of how you created this if you have time.
It reminds me of the tissue paper decorations we had when I was little, only this is much more sophisticated and elegant.

What a really pretty ornament! Can’t wait for your tutorial. I was so disappointed that I did not purchase this die set – I thought that I had, but discovered that I never had ordered it. So frustrating, when all along you think you have something and then, you are all set to work with it, just to find out you, in fact, don’t have it! That seems to be the way with all of my Holiday things so far! Been too busy working on a year end tax project that I have lost my creative juices for my Christmas crafts. How sad, because I was really looking forward to making some different things besides cards this year. Oh well, next year, I guess!ReplyCancel

Your ornament is gorgeous! I have a couple of questions- how many cut-out pieces did you use to create the fullness and how did you
get the top and bottom rings on?

Thanks so much so sharing and Merry Christmas,

G O R G E O U S !!! Once again a masterpiece. I, like everyone else, can’t wait for a tutorial. I was in our local scrapbook store the other day when the owner came up to me and said: you got to see this! She showed me the post for your favorite ornament and I was blown away. Up to that point I was on the fence about purchasing these dies, but they are now part of my “collection”. Can’t wait to use them!!!ReplyCancel
