Hey there! We had quite the peaceful afternoon after we got home from hubby’s surgery. So, while he rested I was off to do some stamping and have a card to share today. My card uses a powerful quote from Corrie Ten Boom and comes in a new set from Our Daily Bread Designs called As You Graduate.
For the background I cut two Fair Isle Pendants and cut off one edge on each piece then glued them together to make a long rectangle. I bordered the oval with the inside pendant pieces and matted them on two stacked Labels Eight dies.

See ya soon!!
Beautiful card.
Another one of my fave songs is “Old Time Rock & Roll”. “Risky Business” was one of the very first movies I ever went to as a teenager. Collette
Wow, truly gorgeous, Becca! Hope your husband is doing OK!
Beautiful card and sentiment! Hope all is well with DH. tfs
Gorgeous!!! I need a very special get-well soon card and this one is so elegant. Now if I can get hubby to move a chair into my craft room I can get started! I had back surgery May 7 and got him to move my “craft” chair downstairs as my “designated” straight back chair. Now I’m felling up to crafting but there’s no chair! Thanks for sharing.
I love the colors you chose! Glad to hear some good news.
Such beautiful colours, Becca! Wishing your DH a speedy recovery.
I love this saying! I also like: I may not understand His ways – but I can always trust HIS heart!
Gorgeous card, Becca! What a lovely card for a graduate and how appropriate the sentiment. Thanks for sharing. So glad your DH is doing okay. I’ll keep him in my prayers.

Beautiful card as always ( colors, stamp choice, and use of pendant).

My favorite song of all time is Marvin Gaye’s “What’s Going On.” Almost 40 years later the song still resonates with me. Best wishes for Mr. Becca’s speedy recovery. The prayers of a righteous man (woman) availeth much!

WHERE IS THE SPECIAL WORD????????
CYNTHIA
I am having trouble visualizing the spellbinder you used and cut. I am going to go look it up. You are always so clever. I never think to cut the shapes or just use the corners. Thanks for reminding me. Outstanding card as usual. We have come to expect no less from you!
Oh man I have that spellbinder. Never ever thought to make it in to a rectangle. Thanks for your inspiration!
The ribbon is so rich, it just makes the card. Another winner!

+1
Becca
Lovely card – great colors and techniques.
It is my understanding that the word of the day is noonish, my work blocks your site, and seeing as how I cannot leave until 3, I am way too late for your word.
As for songs – one of my very favorites is “Amazing Grace” (who doesn’t love it with bagpipes?) and then of course “In the Garden” and “God of Our Fathers” with the trumpet introit. All from my Mom’s funeral – but they have always brought tears to my eyes!
Great one Becca!! And an awesome sentiment as well. I love Corrie Ten Boom’s story so this card packs a punch. Very nice. :)
Another gorgeous card! Thanks for sharing it. So, glad he is home and doing better.
Sounds like hubby is recovering from surgery well… Praise God!! Your card today is gorgeous as usual…and I love the colors you chose!! As for my favorite song for today, it would have to be “Sittin’ on the Dock of the Bay” by Otis Redding… My prayer for today will be a speedy, uncomplicated recovery for your hubby!!!
Wow Becca! Love the bow and the red!
So glad to hear your dh is recovering. Pray he will soon be feeling well and that his vision is great :o)
Hugs

Love the colors in this card ~ GORGEOUS! Glad hubby’s surgery went well!
I’m happy that your husband’s surgery was successful and that you are able to get back to some semblance of normalcy by making a new card. I hope he’s up and around soon
Beautiful – love the layers and ribbon!
Beautiful card! The attention to detail is amazing – tfs
Just beautiful, Becca. I love the colors, the stamps and all of the layers. And, of course the bow! No one ties a bow better than you!
How long does a card like this take you, from start to finish. I need to get faster! I’ve got a whole list of grad and sympathy and get-wells and thinking of yous to do!
So pleased to hear that your husband is doing well. Your card is wonderful I am always amazed at how innovative you are. :)
Love the ideas you have to expand the use of your dies. Very creative
Seriously Becca! You always amaze me!!!! This is so gorgeous! so glad hubby’s surgery went well!
Beautiful card Becca, love the color combination and the placement of the layers. Speedy recovery to your honey. As always Becca, TFS!!! :-D
Becca… you have got to be a master munipulater with your tools.. thanks so much for sharing so many of your solutions and gorgeous designs. Beautiful work as always.
Another favorite song is Summer Madness by the Isley Brothers – the memory is a long summer drive in the country with the windows down, wind in my face and the smell of honeysuckles. :) :)
Oh that is beautiful!
So glad your husband is home safe and sound. Prayers will continue for his healing. I love this card. This sentiment is so beautiful!
I love your beautiful card and the wonderful sentiment! You are so creative with your pendants and layering! I am happy to hear that things went well with your husband.
What an extremely beautiful card. Well organized with the different die cuts from Spellbinders dies and the well organized colors. All it takes is the right color arrangement and everything else just seems to fall right in place easily, I hope you would agree with that.
Beautiful!!
Hope your husband is feeling better.
another great creation. hope hubby is OK now or getting better
This card is beautiful. Thanks for all of your inspiration. Hoping your husband feels better every day.
Beautiful card and I love the sentiment.
The colors used are so lovely. You do beautiful work.
As usual, a beautiful card. Thanks for all the inspiration. Your cards are always so lovely.
What a great card! Beautiful sentiment for those graduating and stepping into their futures.
“Theme From Dr. Shivago” – it just seams very dreamy and makes me think of a horse drawn sleigh in the snow.

Hope your hubby is doing well. TFS….love this card…perfect for my graduating grandson.
Another favorite song in our family is one that came down the family tree from my Louisianna grandmother (died at the age of 98 in 1995) who said it was sung to her as a child as she grew up in the old plantation house that had been in the family since before the Civil War. The words start with “Walk and talk about your Jesus, Glory Halelluhua and then continues with “Sheep and a hog walking through the pasture. Sheep says the hog, can’t you walk a little faster. Hush, honey, hush, can’t you hear the wolves a howling? No, no, no, just a bull dog howling. Get out the way for old Dan Tucker. He’s too late to get any supper. Hmm-Haa, Hmm-Haa. ” I think it is a combination of two old songs that used to be sung on the plantations of the South. She sang it to me and I sang it to my children. I hope and pray for grandchildren to sing it to before I get too old to remember the words!!!!!
This card caused me to pause, and all else faded around me when I first caught sight of it. I love, love, love it. THanks so much for sharing it with us.
My song is “Wonderful World” performed by Louis Armstrong. There is just something about those lyrics combined with his unique voice that resonates with me. I remember hearing it shortly after the loss of my daughter.
Another favorite song is “Dwelling in Beulah land”. Continuing to pray for your hubby. Thanks for the blog candy!
This card is so lovely and Corrie ten Boom’s quote is just perfect with it. There are so many of her quote’s that could be used and you have chosen a beautiful one.
Love this design! Beautiful use of the Spellbinders, Becca. Hope your hubby is resting well and will recover quickly. My best to both of you.
gorgeous as usual!! how’s your hubby?
I wanted to let you know that I used this card as an inspiration for a sympathy card that I needed to send to a friend who not only lost her son but had emergency surgery. They were in the hospital at the same time. So I wanted to send an extra special card, since she had really been through an extra tough time. She is now bragging about her card saying how beautiful it is. Thank you for making my job easier.
