Hi there blog friends, how cute are these little purses? Ha-ha – you’ll never guess what I used to make them! No fair – you saw the the title but scratched your head and said “??” Okay, here’s my story. I was playing around with one of the new Spellbinders dies and I thought it was an interesting shape – heavier on the bottom, skinnier on the top. Then it hit me, if I could assemble front and back, it would function as a purse. So using Spellbinders S5-060 Flower Pots I cut two pieces using the largest Flower Pot. For one of the purses I used the second largest piece to create the side for one of the purses I used small paper bags as a part of the bag. Then to finish off I decorated using anything I could find for handles and closure. Is this not the cutest thing? I’m always in a bind when I need to do favors for our Stamp Club and now I know I can pull them together in a couple of minutes!!
For the Flowerpot Purse above I used a small black sack. For both flowerpot pieces I adhered overlapping on the bottom then adhered my flower pot front and back to the bag. For the handles I cut/embossed two S4-345 Picot Circles and cut off the excess before I adhered them to the top. The closure on this one is a piece of ribbon glued to the back edge. The purse is locked by threading the ribbon through the bling buckle!!

I’m running around again today, but look for a video walk through on how to put these together this afternoon some time. After putting several together, I improved the function of the side gussets so you’ll definitely want to have a look at the video to get that tidbit!! Oh, and part of my video is frugal serendipity – I’ll share the source of my inexpensive front and back flaps that are the perfect heavy weight!! I’ll see you later!!

When I saw the flower pot die I tried to think what would Becca do with those. Needless to say my brain wouldn’t go there but I was confident yours would and it did with your usual amazing results. These are lovely and I’m sure the receivers will be thrilled to get them. I’ve looked that your photos and I can’t even guess how you did it so I look forward to the tutorial.
Blessings Bernie
When I originally saw the Flower Pot dies I was thinking, I don’t need these. Man, was I wrong. Leave it up to you, to do something spectacular with such a simple die set. Ok, tell the truth, you have a PhD in mathematics, Physics or Enginering, lol… I’ll be waiting patiently for the Becca Bit.

Well I just gotta add my coments also….they are so cute and as someone said, Spellbinders is breaking my budget ! Always just have to have Spellbinders.
Becca, your purses are just super! Love the elegance of the black/white/red one, with the ribbon through the rhinestone buckle! The paper choice and fun handle for the other one is great, too! Very clever of you to come up with something like this out of the flowerpot dies!

These are adorable. Can’t wait to see tutorial. Curious to know what the actual dimensions of the finished purses are. Hard to tell from photos and without having the dies yet. Love your ingenuity in putting all the componets together. Very clever Lady!!
