Good morning blog friends! Thanks so much for weighing in with me yesterday. The information you’ve given be will help me so much in planning posts for the next several months. There always seems to be pressure to move to simpler cards with less layers and after reading yesterdays comments, I’m tickled that one of the things you’re searching for here is the layers, the dies and the bling. I enjoy elegant, vintage, dressy cards although from time to time I throw in simple, cute and grunge. I’ve been enjoying 3D items like boxes lately and questioned myself about if they were something you all liked – so glad you do, so there will be more!! For today I have new card with that great new JustRite Stampers die template – Oval Medallion Labels. Paired with the Always and Forever Medallion Labels Stamp set, I cut five of the smallest two dies for frames and stacked them like a pyramid. The profile is still pretty low but it gave me a great spread to contrast against Spellbinders Parisian Motifs.
I colored the scrolls with a copic marker then seated my die cut back in the die template to sponge Tattered Rose Distress Ink around the edges of the frame. To finish, I ran ribbon behind Parisian Motifs and tied a bow!! Simple, simple!
SUPPLIES I USED |
Stamps: JustRite Stampers – Always and Forever Medallion Labels Paper: Prima Romantique, Bazzill Ink: Palette – Moulin Rouge, Versamark, Tattered Rose Distress Ink Accessories: JustRite Oval Medallion Labels, Spellbinders Parisian Motifs, Ribbon, Recollections Pearls, Gold Embossing Powder, Copic Marker |
It just so happens that several on the design team were inspired by this stamp set and have creations whipped up on their blogs. Links are below:
JustRite Inspiration, Becca Feeken (you’re here), Debbie Olson, Sharon Harnist, Kellie Fortin, Kazan Clark, Barb Schram, Heidi Blankenship, Angela Barkhouse
Big hugs to you all!! Remember I have two blog candies going HERE and HERE where you can leave comments until Midnight CST on January 5th! In the meantime, brrrrr – stay warm!!
Wow!! Beautiful as always. I have to be honest. I came to your website earlier and there wasn’t anything new. I was almost having withdrawls, lol. Then I came back and wa-la. And was it worth it. AMAZING
Becca: Absolutely love your work. You are amazing and it comes out thru the cards you create. God has blessed and given you a talent. Look forward to your creations in 2012. Happy New Year.
I am so glad you are sticking with all the layers and dimensional designs. I know simple is great on occasion but it is all the layers and different designs you do that keep us coming. Great news.
WOW! Just when I think you have topped them all you come along with something even greater! Your inner beauty just shines through with each card you make! Wish I lived close to you … well, maybe not, because I would be at your house everyday!!!
Another Becca Beauty and in PINK, too! Your bows are pieces of art, all by themselves.
Morning Becca,
Lovely as usual and typical Becca very unique :D Gosh, the world would be a much less brighter place without you and your fab art!
Hope you are feeling well today…
Hugs,
Beth P
Beautiful! Elegant and sophisticated. You say”Simple, simple” at the end but it sure looks very difficult and detailed.
Thank you for sharing! I look forward to seeing your creations every day .

Just beautiful Becca!
Really looking forward to the boxes!!
Stunning, Becca! I love how you repeated the mat!
This is stunning!! I love how you layered these, and love the colors.
This is so pretty. Today I left a comment on yesterday’s post (nothing like being on time) and I said that I love the way you layer the different dies. This is such a good example of that. Beautiful card.
This is beyond gorgeous! Keep the layers coming – they add so much dimension and interest to a card. This is actually my favorite thing I’ve seen anyone do with these dies so far. Thank you Becca!
As usual, I opened up your blog with a gasp as my eyes perused this gorgeous pink creation. Oh My Gosh. The tip on putting the paper back in the die explains how you got the pink coloring so nicely in there. Very lovely to be sure. Where do you purchase the luscious ribbon? Oh, by the way, I am running out of room on my (computer) desktop with all the pictures of your creations! Slowly the others are being deleted as yours are just the best.
As beautiful and creative as ever. :)
WOW! That is beautiful! When I first saw it all I could say is WOW!
Beautiful card.
Beautiful card, and that bow is Yummy!
Oh Becca! This is gorgeous! I love the layers and that ribbon bow is scrumptious! I love the blushed look on your ovals too – what a great technique! Thanks so much for sharing these gorgeous creations!
I don’t know who’s pressuring you to move to simpler, but tell them to STOP. There is no one who layers like you do–classic and tasteful. Most 12 layer cards look like someone was trying too hard, but yours are all organic wholes where every layer is needed. Do not change your style, please. These are works of art!
When I was at CHA this summer, the word was out, “Becca Feeken is here, but she’s in a walking boot.” I never did get to see you–probably just as well as I would have made a fool of myself trying to tell you how beautiful your art is.
I have only ever stacked up my nesties in the typical ‘one on top of the other’, now why didn’t I think of ‘thinking outside the box’ the way you do….I am going to try doing that more with my cards from now on….thinking outside the box! because your cards are always stunning and I am going to try thinking the way you do if it is at all possible for me to do that. I am leaning more and more just by looking at your beautiful creations….so thank you Becca.
LOL Eileen
Such a pretty card, you make the most beautiful bows. I’m so jealous! :-)
Your card is so pretty! I love the stepped up medallions and that gorgeous bow to underline it.
Thanks for sharing! :)
Beautiful Becca! Love all those layers! Your bow is gorgeous too!
This is simply gorgeous Becca.. Love your simplicity yet your beauty… The words say so much and the besuty of the medallion is so Stunning!! A simply lovely card…
Hugs, Jean
Wow, wow, wow, and wow! What a brilliant way of layering the medallions over a simple background. You’re indeed a creative genius, Becca. Your cards have always stood out over the rest. I’ll keep praying that you will be off your aches and pain. Bless you.
Another Becca signature!
I vote for this one for 2012.
There is no end with you.
Bravo!
Francine
Stunning! Gorgeous! Beautiful! So Creative! I love the colours, and the way you stacked the medallion. I think anyone that receives a card from you, treasures it the rest of their life; maybe even frames it.
Becca, you never cease to amaze me! You have incredible God given talents and you use them beautifully! Blessings Kathy
WOW!! You continue to amaze me Becca. Beautiful!
Thanks so much for this great card. I have to admit I will be CASing this one for sure. Love you style, Vintage, layers, and bling!

Another beautiful “Becca” card!!
Oh Please don’t start featuring Grunge. I want my cards to look fresh and new. I would not give anyone a card that looked like I bought soiled misprinted paper and then I drove the car over it for good measure LOL I won’t buy distressed paper .
Thanks for sharing this lovely card it is awesome.

An added thought.
Your style is unique !! No one does what you do with dies. NO ONE Don’t change. Just look at the loyal following you have. Many bloggers would be over joyed to have the number of people who visit your blog. If people want clean & simple there are a gazillion blogs featuring them . You know the old saying ” You can’t please everyone and if you try you will please no one including yourself.”
Oh my! This is simply precious. Love the clever and innovative ways you create. No one else does it like you.
Totally gorgeous and I LOVE your cards with all the layers and different uses of dies. That’s what’s so special about yours!!!
What can I say that every one else hasn’t. You are genuine and there isn’t any one that I know of that can make cards with that much elegants and love for God and people. I wish I had just a small portion of the talent you have. I really don’t think you should change a thing.
Thank you, Gail
Oh my Becca I just love this one. your layering is exceptional and the way you put things together. I just love thank you for your inspiration.
Hugs Trish.
Today I am going to check out your design teams blogs which I didn’t know they had.
Oh my goodness, does your brain ever rest? Absolutly gourgious. God bless…. Denice
How wide is the ribbon you used? Two inches?
WOW!!!!
So Pretty!!!
Hi Becca,
Well I must agree with Barbara Jay, you cannot please all the people all the time. I think the way you do what you do is just right. Your variety is what drew me to you across the thousands of miles through hyperspace. So I for one say please just do what you have always done, its beautiful and your given talent should flow, not be dictated to.
Todays card is so unusual and something we cannot produce over here in the UK because, as far as I can see, we cannot get these stamps. Who knows maybe one day.
I left my fifth and last goal earlier today, over on the 1st Jan post.
Hope you are having a good day today.
Regards Linda (S.Wales, UK)
Glad to hear you are keeping the WOW factor;)
Don’t stop doing what you do–its sheer elegance!
I like your other 3D projects too (boxes, etc)
Mmmmm, so pretty!
Thank you for another beautiful card! I check my E-mil two times each day and I am always thriled with what you do out of the kindness of your heart. Bless you….
Lovely, Becca!! Beautiful example of the dies and labels and how they can be used together.
Thanks for sharing.
hugs
BECCA I LOVE ALL THE PIN K CARDS YOU MAKE AND IF THERE IS SOME PURPLE EVEN BETTER. I JUST LOVED THE HOUSES ESPECIALLY THE ONE THAT FOLDS WITH A CARD INSIDE IT. I CAN’T
WAIT UNTIL YOU GIVE US THE DIRECTIONS. MAYBE YOU CAN HURRY WITH THEM, JUST KIDDING. I LOVE THE ELEGANT, OLD FASHION CARDS ALSO. I GUESS IF I HAD TO PUT IT IN ONE SENTENCE ‘I JUST LOVE ALL YOUR CARDS AS IT SEEMS WE LIKE THE SAME KIND.’ DON’T STAY AWAY SO LONG.
CYNTHIA B EYNON
Hi Becca. I love the layers and the beauty of your cards and this one is no exception. Please don’t change to grunge or simplicity. Your exceptional ideas are what makes you and your cards very special.
BECCA I WOULD JUST LOVE TO WIN THE PAPER AND I WILL TELL YOU WHY MY THIRD COUSIN SENT TO ME A COPY OF THE SHIPS LOG WHEN MY GRANDPARENTS AND THEIR BROTHERS AND SISTERS CAME ACROSS THE WIDE WATER. ALTHOUGH THEY DID NOT KNOW EACH OTHER YET, THEY MET IN PENNSYLVANIA. IT IS
SOMETHING TO SEE THEIR NAMES ON THE LOG, AMOUNT OF MONEY, WHERE THEY WERE GOING TO STAY. AND THE PAPER YOU
ARE GIVING AWAY LOOKS VERY FAMILIAR. SO IT WOULD BE GREAT
TO WIN IT AND I COULD MAKE A B EAUTIFUL MEMORY. SURE HOPE I
AM LUCKY. THANKS FOR THE CANDY.
CYNTHIA BEYNON
Your card is very pretty Becca, love how you have layered the die-cuts in that fashion which is new to me. Love the colors chosen. That bow really pops on your project. As always Becca, TFS!!! :-D
Your work is a treasure for all of us and your style is uniquely your own so never change, please. Nobody does it quite like Becca Fekken!
