Hi there blog friends!  Let me start out by saying thank you so much — I am humbled by the sweet honor of your favor!!   I asked God for courage, and received an answer loud and clear, in a way that has left me awed and speechless.  If you left a message for me by going to my contact page and saying that you wanted to be on the pre-order list for the Peg Bow Maker, you should have received an email from me with a link to the ordering page and with my sincere thanks for believing in me.   I have yet another tool that I’ve been developing for the last year and a half that will see the light of day soon.   It’s not a do-it-yourself kind of thing but you’ve empowered me think I can actually finish bringing it to life.  Ah, courage . . .

In the mean time, there’s yet a wonderful new die template that you’ve not seen yet.  I wasn’t able to show it before CHA and it almost killed me!!  Spellbinders™ Floral Ovals is a template that I’ve been dreaming of.  I love ovals and use them often, but this one has a decorative, romantic, feminine flare.  I used two of the Floral Ovals set slightly askew to create an opening for my sentiment panel using Spellbinders™ Labels Twenty Five.  Onr top of the opening I laid  Spellbinders™ Twisted Metal Tags and Accents – I know I use that a lot!!  Paired with new stamps from JustRite Stampers that you haven’t seen yet either – I ask you to turn your thoughts toward the Easter that approaches.  Using a sentiment from JustRite called Easter Blessing Oval Medallion, I  paired it the new JustRite Fleur de Lis Background Stamp.   Up the side of the card I used Spellbinders™ Moroccan Accents that I layered with lace and seam binding and finished with a Triple Bow (Double bow + 1 on Peg Bow Maker).

SUPPLIES I USED
Stamps: JustRite Stampers –Fleur de Lis Background StampEaster Blessing Oval Medallion
Paper: Neenah Classic Crest Cream 80lb, Bazzill
Ink:  Colorbox Chalk Ink – Prussian Blue, Stormy Sky Distress Ink
Accessories: Spellbinders™ Moroccan Accents,  Spellbinders™ Floral Ovals, Spellbinders™ Twisted Metal Tags and Accents, Spellbinders™ Labels Twenty Five, Seam Binding, Pearl Pick, Recolletions Pearls

Sincerely sweet friends, I am amazed – I read every email yesterday and responded individually to more than 250 of you, I have more to go but missed a night’s sleep somewhere in this adventure.  They were not all emails about the bow maker, some of them were well wishes and some were other people in my same situation reaching out for a shared word.  It’s a lesson to me daily that I don’t know everything about the world, but I do know that I have a treasure in the family I’ve made in blog land and I want you to know there’s not an iota of your kindness that I take for granted.

I can’t count the times I have seen something on other blogs that was presented as their own idea when I had seen it weeks earlier on a different blog or two. Your original talent amazes me . • Marcie SmithJanuary 31, 2012 - 3:15 pm

I too love this new oval !!!! As soon as I saw it, it went on my order. I am really intrigued with the tuck and fold dies, they remind me of some older brass border templates that had come out many years ago. Each cut had to be done by exacto knife, but it was all the rage in the scrapbook world. The other amazing new Spellbinder release was the new e-embossabilities. Some of them are really gorgeous and I just couldn’t help my self. I had to ask the question many times however, before someone finally told me that you need the new rasberry adapter plate for these. So I quickly slipped that on my order as well. This was the first time thou that I can honestly say there were some dies that I actually could live without. That hasn’t happened in a really long time.

Becca, I am SO glad that you are marketing your Peg Bow Maker!!! My sweet husband made one for me from your pictures and description, and I am using it all the time. Best wishes on your endeavor!

Next I asked my husband to help me with the Loom, after finding my round, hinged, wooden box at Michael’s for 9 cents. I had to buy the last two and make one for our daughter as well.

I look forward to any and all your posts, including the absolutely wonderful one today. This card will be a favorite of mine – with the Easter verse in blue and ivory and all the Spellbinder layers and lace/pearl embellishment!

    Becca,
This is a stunning card today, but you are so naughty teasing us, especially me, with those Morrocan Accent dies as I am totalling longing for them, they are gorgeous. Also I think the way you have offset the ovals one on top of the other is lovely and they creates a lacy backdrop for the Twisted Metal diecut.
The shade of blue you have used here is beautiful, could you tell me the Bazzill shade name please?
    All the best LindaReplyCancel

  • ANN ROBBINSFebruary 1, 2012 - 10:38 pm

Oh My God, this is georgous. I just got the Grand Calibur two weeks ago on sale at JoAnn’s for $77 plus 30% off the following week on anything even sale items. I went crazy of course as Spellbinder dies were on sale for 30% off, mostly $14.99 less an additional 30% off. I spent $96. Of course, I went home and did the organizational thing with the cd boxes and magnets. The only thing I didn’t do was the labels. I did cut out the cover to show what is in the box so it turned out pretty well. The first of the year I did a big clean up campaign to get all my “stuff” organized. It took two army lockers and I still have a huge plastic tote full of paper. I haven’t started on my car’s trunk but all the stamps are in one box, punches in another, etc. etc. I keep them in the car so when I go to a crop, I have everything anyone there might want or need to use and it’s all in one place. Only bring in what is requested but it is there if needed.ReplyCancel

Hi there blog friends!  I hope you are having a wonderful weekend.  If you ask me, it’s glorious! ! I’ve been holed up inside for the longest time.  This week has been a breath of fresh air to have gotten outside a bit.   I have a new card to share today and again, I think it’s unlike my normal card du jour!   It contains a sneak peek of a new sentiment that will be fully revealed in the Our Daily Bread Designs blog hop on February 1st.  I kept the design simple and did not want to cover the beautiful features of the design paper.  So embossing, rather than cutting, with the die template seemed like my best option.  I used the Our Daily Bread Designs Grunge Cross die cut; it leaves the faint outline of a cross underneath the stamped sentiment.

It’s a very subtle effect and can be seen much better in real life.  I was able to tilt the card to get a good enough picture for you to see the outline.    I love the effect and it didn’t cover that wonderful design paper.  I finished off with a stacked tiered bow (with no tails) at the bottom of the card.

SUPPLIES I USED
Stamps: Our Daily Bread Designs – The Sea
Paper: Recollections, Hot Off the Press, Bazzill
Ink: Versafine Onyx Black
Accessories: Our Daily Bread Designs – Cross Die Template, EK Success Border Punch, Prima Bling, Satin Ribbon

Hugs to you all, I’ll be back tomorrow!!

  • Jean HempelJanuary 28, 2012 - 4:28 pm

Oh Becca, I love this card and the sentiment is so beautiful and can’t wait to see the whole line.. this new line you have gotten us into I think, is going to be a money breaker.. but it is well worth it.. once we get the stampers we ought to be okay and the sentiments will come slowly.. so many in one package so well worth it and know we can count on you if we have a problem… my problem is I would love to try to incorporate Tilda in one every so often.. Will try to play with that… Probably the birthday ones and the friendship ones… So glad you are you and do the great job you do.. Just love you and am so proud to know you.. Have a great day!!

Hi: The comments about the bow maker are so numerous that it’s coming across as jumbled on my screen so I want you to know what I posted. Suzanne Runyeon is really the main host on HSN for crafts. I put on her facebook that she needed to look at your work and at the bow maker….she actually got back with me yesterday and said she was having the HSN buyer check it out at CHA….don’t be surprised if you are on TV one of these days….every since QVC gave up on scrapbooking, crafts and sewing, HSN has been the channel that sells a lot of crafting supplies.ReplyCancel

Sweet friends, how are you today?  I’ve been musing about how truly rewarding it is to have hands busy and immersed in creating something. Some of you echo the same sentiment in your emails to me…  It was only several years ago that things were so busy that I never had time to craft.  I traveled much and managed to throw a little bit of knitting or crochet in my bag to take along with me but it was all I could do to get through a days work then fall into bed.  I’m grateful, so very grateful.  We all have things we have to do, I hope you find a moment in your day to relax and create!  I do have a card to share today – it uses one of the new Spellbinders die templates that is sure to become one of my favorites.  It’s called Spellbinders S5-083 Antique Frame and it has been floating to the top of the pile on my work bench.  Best for me to use it so that I can set my eyes on some of the others I want to touch!

I cut my thick frame using Spellbinders Classic Squares LG and Classic Squares SM then seated the frame from Spellbinders S5-083 Antique Frame over top.  The frame in this set is so elegant it just begged for a cameo to go inside so I selected
a Waltzingmouse Stamps set called Cameo to Go.  Then I attached a sweet little tag — perfectly sized — using Spellbinders S5-089 Home Sweet Home.  Up in the right hand corner I tucked the super elegant element from Spellbinders Twisted Metal Tags and Accents.

SUPPLIES I USED
StampsWaltzingmouse StampsCameo to Go
Paper: DCWV, Bazzill
Ink: Versafine Onyx Black
Accessories: Spellbinders Twisted Metal Tags and Accents, Spellbinders Classic Squares LG, Spellbinders Classic Squares SM, Spellbinders S5-083 Antique Frame, Spellbinders S5-089 Home Sweet Home, seam binding, Bead Landing bead, Recollections pearls.

Thanks for stopping by!  You all are the best!!

The moment I saw this card today a great big smile crossed my face as if you took my comment right to heart! Those contrasting colors of black and white just grab me every time. This card is just so classy. I, too, can’t wait to get my hands on some of those new dies. I will be so glad when they are released. Absolutely lovely card!ReplyCancel

Becca, Oh my gosh…..black and white, pewter and mauve…..just too wonderful. Wish I had the money to shop for these items to construct a card such as this. In the old days I could, so I love looking at what is available now so that I could emulate your genius.

Rachel Brooks and Fran L have expressed my sentiments… exactly!
How do you keep track of all of the many Spellbinders dies you have?
You use many of them together- I was having trouble remembering what I had, but today, I used sticky-backed magnetic strips on the back side of my cabinet doors and mounted all of the dies I have .. right where I can see all of them at once. Your cards are so inspiring. Thank you,ReplyCancel

At the risk of sounding like a broken record, this is a gorgeous card. I love the black and pink, and the little touches like the button (or is it something else?) in the middle of your bow, the frame, and the Twisted Metal Tags & Accents scroll in the upper right corner.ReplyCancel

  • JoannJanuary 26, 2012 - 4:00 am

Becca this is just so elegant and beautiful! But then again all your cards always are!!! I do have a question for you though… in this particular card, can you tell me what sizes your layers of paper are? I think they are so wonderfully layered just showing a tiny bit of the back layer. I always wanted to know how people cut their layers to get that perfect tiny edge…would you mind sharing with me? Thanks so much!ReplyCancel

My new craft project today, was learning to make Becca Bows. I have made 3 of them so far. I didn’t have a bow maker so I had to jab 2 pencils into the top and out the bottem of a stiff box and hold it in my laps. It will have to do till my husband can make me something better,ReplyCancel

What a stunner !!!!!!!! So Beautiful Becca. This frame die must be one of the releases that they have been saving for CHA. Didn’t see it in Abilities and Beyond or it would have been on pre-order by now. I love how you have framed the cameo on that oh so gorgeous blk/wht damask paper. Enjoy your trip, we are having some wonderful weather thru this weekend. It has been in the mid 80’s most of the week, but will be cooling down some next week.
