Hi there sweet friends.  Popping in to let you know that two of the three winners have responded.    I’ll have a further update for you tomorrow.  In the meantime, after all my errands today I got the inspiration for a card.  I was thinking petticoats, lol.  Can’t you tell?  Seriously, this is my favorite, favorite, favorite lace.  I indulged last year after I saw this in the Prima booth at CHA.  No worries, it won’t go to waste – I sew too so this may end up on the bottom of a jean jacket or something.   It was my starting point on this card and then I thought it an excellent place to showcase one of the new background stamps from Our Daily Bread Designs – the Fish Background.  It’s very subtle here because it’s stamped over top of my striped design paper – I heat embossed it with ivory embossing powder.  Then I stamped half of the sentiment from the Anchor set and behind it, very faintly, you can see the anchor image.

My focal point medallion is made up of  two of Spellbinders Fancy Tags Two with Standard Circles SM and Standard Circles LG layered on top.   Lol, you know I’m push myself from time to time to step outside of my color comfort zone – voila -purple for you.  It honestly doesn’t happen often, but I’m trying to change that!!

SUPPLIES I USED
Stamps: Our Daily Bread Designs – Fish Background, Anchor
Paper: Bazzill, K & Company
Ink: Studio G (dye based)
Accessories: Spellbinders Fancy Tags Two, Spellbinders Standard Circles SM, Spellbinders Standard Circles LG, Ivory Embossing Powder, Ribbon, Prima Lace Pearls

You all are the sweetest!  I’m cooking up some good stuff for you!!  Come back and see me soon!

So many little details to get to the altogether glorious finish. The first thing that popped out at me was the ribbon corner and the pinking on the bottom of the bow tails. After reading each comment, I had to go back and look at that particular detail. Then, the oh so gentle anchor stamp. So beautifully understated. Like some of your other followers I could not quite take in that you stamped on your DP. Yes, you told us, but really, who does that? Except you!

I love every little thing about this card. You done did it again!ReplyCancel

    Hi Becca

I mean this in the nicest way. I had a hard time entering your contest past the 3rd or 4th day. The post got so long that it took a very long time for the post to load into my iPhone. In fact, it goes into standby mode after 3 minutes and I had to touch the screen to wake it up more than once! So, not to be daunted, I started using my much more powerful laptop to enter. Well apparently it wasn’t powerful enough as the post continued to take a very long time to load and once it did, it seemed to almost freeze up my computer because it wouldn’t scroll smoothly to the bottom of the page, stuttering all the way down. So I sadly gave up entering and I hated to do that. You are so sweet, I know you want everyone to be able to enter every day. So I had a small suggestion. After you get 1500 hits or so, could you close the comments and open a new post specifically for commenting? I hope that wouldn’t be too hard to do. I didn’t even get to enter all of the last days.

I hope I am not coming across as rude because I don’t mean to but some people see my business-like style as offensive so I tried to come across more softly.

Thanks Becca, I know you care.ReplyCancel

Do you know about 31 Days? Don’t forget it’s my Blogaversary – register HERE.

Hi there blog friends!  Popping in quick to share a card with you.  This is one of my very favorite Quietfire Design quotes called Fill Your Paper.  I swoon over this Prima paper and I’ve actually done a card using the 12 x 12 version of the paper, but I have the small pad too and the patterns and flowers are just so sweet and petite.  My focal panel uses paper from the smaller 6 x 6 pad; I think this paper is absolutely dreamy.  On the left of the quote I used a very elegant Quietfire Design Flourishes.

You caught me pleating paper again, lol!!  This time I plunked down a half circle and matted it using Spellbinders Parisian Motifs for a rounded border.  At the center of the pleating I used an element from Fleur de Lis Accents to pull my ribbon through before I tied my bow.  On the right edge of the card I used the bottom dotted edge of the Fleur de Lis Accents border – it makes such a nice emboss dotted line to border off the right side.  Zva Creative Pearls and Glimmer Mist dyed seam binding finish the job for me.

Sweet . . . the card I had in mind was so close to what’s running for Mojo Monday 178 that I aimed it in that direction.  I have not played along in so long, but I’m playing today!!

HOW IT’S MADE

1. Make Card Base – mine is 5½”x7½”
2. Layer a mat 7¼”x5¼”. Adhere with foam tape.
3. Layer a mat and design paper 4½” x
4½”. Stamp sentiment and Flourish.  Tie Ribbon.
4. Cut/emboss Parisian Motifs and butt it up next to 4½ ” panel.
5.
Accordian pleat 12″ of paper at 1/8″ internvals and using aggressive glue, adhere on top of motif.
6. Cut/emboss Fleur de Lis Accent pull bow through.
7. Tuck Fleur de Lis Accents border under right side of 4½” panel.  Adhere panel with foam tape
8. Attach center pearl and Zva Pearls

SUPPLIES I USED

Stamps: Quietfire Design – Fill Your Paper, Flourishes
Paper: Prima Fairy Flora 6″x6′ Pad, Prima Fairy Flora 12″x12″, Bazzill
Ink: Versafine Onyx Black and clear embossing Powder
Accessories: Spellbinders Fleur de Lis Accents, Spellbinders Parisian Motifs, Spellbinders Grand Squares, Clear Embossing Powder, Ribbon, Zva Creative Pearls

Be good to yourself today!  See you soon!!
