I did some baking!!   What fun!!  I think I’m ready for fall, what do you think?  I made pound cakes and pumpkin bread and mmm, mmm, mmm,  the house smelled good, what a bonus!!  :-)  Can’t you tell, I was so excited with this months releases for Our Daily Bread Designs.  All the stamps are great but I did a cartwheel over one sentiment that I wish I’d had in my stash for years!!  Thank you for your hospitality!!  I use that phrase so often as an expression of thanks and honestly it means so much more than just a thank you.  When the The Living Bread set came out, I knew I would be able to use it for gift breads plus have a special thank you stamp for the tags.

There are a number of sentiments I could have used to label the bread from this months releases – you can check them out HERE.   I picked this one that I set up on double layers of Spellbinders Labels Eight plus a simple hang tag from Tags Five.  Perfect!!  Around my loaf of bread I bordered cardstock with Spellbinders Big Scalloped Border Grand.  The bread and the autumn colors have me longing for fall (and fall temperatures).

I made two additional hang tags using Labels Eight and Labels Four and created the loop from which to hang the tag by using the small round element from Spellbinders Lattice Pendants.

Card Recipe:
Stamps:  Our Daily Bread Designs – The Living Bread
Paper:  Bazzill, K&Co – Tim Coffee – Fall
Ink:  Colorbox Chalk Ink – Burnt Sienna
Accessories:  Spellbinders™ Labels Eight, Spellbinders™ Labels Four, Spellbinders™ Lattice Pendant, Spellbinders™ Big Scalloped Border Grand, Ribbon, Cellophane, Linen Thread

Have a happy weekend friends!!

Hi there friends, I have a card to share today.  Yesterday my sister and I were talking about weddings so as I sat down to create I decided I wanted to do something dressy that could be used to celebrate a marriage or anniversary.  As I perused my stash of new JustRite Stampers  stamps, my eyes landed immediately on the JustRite Cherish the Memories Nested Sentiments and Verse  — to me this says it all!!  You must check out the other sentiments that go with the set – you can see them HERE.

I always reach for metallic gold, it’s definitely my preference but I’m also pleasantly surprised when I see silver used.  I dressed it up by making a bottom panel using Spellbinders Curved Rectangles.  On top of that layer I added Spellbinders Mega Ovals LG #5, Spellbinders Petite Ovals LG #5 and #2 and Spellbinders Petite Ovals SM #3.  On the edge I used Spellbinders Fancy Tags.

To keep the white ovals in the silver theme, while the ovals were still in their die template, I traced around them with a silver pen.  I love doing that – if only I could remember to do it more often :-)  As a final touch I added ribbon and a Zva pearl ensemble.

Card Recipe:
Stamps:  JustRite Stampers – Cherish the Memories Nested Sentiments and Verse
Paper:  Anna Griffin, Xpedx Brilliant White Cover – 120 lb, Grafix Silver Foil Paper
Ink:  Versarmark
Accessories:  Spellbinders@trade; Curved Rectangles, Spellbinders™ Mega Ovals, Spellbinders™ Petite Ovals LG, Spellbinders™ Petite Ovals SM,  Spellbinders™ Fancy Tags, Clear Embossing Powder,  Pearls, Ribbon, zva pearls

Don ‘t forget to check out the great Blog Frenzy over at Spellbinders this week!!  A group of amazing designers will be showcasing new dies!!  Thanks so much for stopping by!!

I know I’m really late with this comment, but I’ve just seen this in my backtracking on all that I missed this summer. I’m wondering what you used to stamp the sentiment and make it look silver. I see that you used versamark for ink, but is it silver embossed or do they make a versamark ink that is silver? Love this card, it is gorgeous, and the ribbon lacing is perfect. I have just celebrated my 25th (silver) anniversary, and love anything I see in silver. Beautiful card!!ReplyCancel

Hello there friends!!  I hope you are having a magnificent Fourth of July for friends in America and a happy Sunday for friends elsewhere.   I didn’t want to miss the opportunity to pop in and say that and I have a small project to share.  This is a pop up card – and was it ever easy!!  I’ve never made one before but it was issued as a challenge on the Magnolia-licious DT, so I was certainly game to give it a try.    For my card I chose #392 Tilda with Peony from the recently released Wedding Collection from Magnolia-licious. Remember the palette I made to hold my distress inks?  It’s working like a charm and I reach for them more often than I did – I colored this Tilda using those.

For the border on the upright part of the card I used Spellbinders In Spades Borderabilities Petite and actually used the throwaway part that you have after cutting the border.  This gave me that nice embossed sawtooth border!  I used the same thing to go around the Mega Ovals LG, I simply cut as close as I could to the edge without destroying the border.  This made it flexible so that I could curve the border to fit the oval.  After tying a bow, I added a Spellbinders Tag 5 round tag and used a rub on sentiment that says "remember this".  This kind of card will fold flat to fit into an envelope.  I’ll simply flatten the bow to send it on it’s way.

If you are interested in the tutorial to make the pop up card, you can find it HERE.  Better yet, make one and enter it in the challenge this month at Magnolia-licious.  There are prizes to be won and all the details can be found on the Magnolia-licious Highlites Blog

Card Recipe:
Stamps:  Through Magnolia-licious – Tilda with Peony
Paper:  Bazzill, K & Co
Ink:  Versafine Onyx Black
Accessories:  Spellbinders Mega Ovals LG, Spellbinders Tags Five, Spellbinders In Spades Borderabilities Petite, Pearls, Ribbon, Making Memories Rub Ons, Clear Embossing Powder

Thanks so peeking in!!  I’ll be back soon!
