It is time for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge (FTTC12).  Kimberly Crawford is our challenge hostess this week. She clearly has a challenge that will make you see things in a whole new way. She is challenging us to use acetate or clear cardstock. You can use clear acetate in many ways. Whether it is for the card base, a frame, windows, embellishments, or some unique way you have to showcase acetate, we cannot wait to see what you create.

I love using clear acetate and have shed my fear of stamping on it.  Because I use two layers together I don’t get caught up on or stressed about doing it perfectly on the first stamping.  For our challenge I decided to use those fabulous sentiments from the Flourishes Timeless Quotes.  For the background I used one of my favorite stamps – Flourishes Damask Background.  For the framing I used Spellbinders Scalloped Frame Die for the exterior frame and for the interior frame I used Spellbinders Classic Frame.

Card Supplies:
Stamps:  Flourishes Timeless Quotes, Flourishes Damask Background
Paper:  The Paper Company – Cottonwood, K & Co.
Ink:  Black Stazon
Accessories:  Spellbinders Scalloped Frame, Spellbinders Classic Frame, Ribbon, Brads

Don’t forget to pop in and see what the other Friends of Flourishes did to rock this challenge!

How do you manage to figure out such stunning projects time after time? I am going insane trying to keep up with all the Spellbiners! I am living on Social Security and have to really watch what I spend, but every time you show a different Nestability or other Spellbinders templates I go nuts. I just have to have them all! I make the birthday cards that get sent out to the ladies in my church and with all the right tools and your beautiful examples I am able to create some very stunning cars. Thanks so very much for all you do.ReplyCancel

Becca, I don’t know how I missed this gorgeous card, but somehow I did. It’s fabulous! Your designs always inspire me.ReplyCancel

I was ripe for a simple card and I think this one fits the bill.  This one was half made on my desk before I had to set it aside to work on some commitments last week.  The reason it was half done is because the poppies were just so bold and as you know I’m on a pink and green kick at this point in my life :)  Yes it is bold and I think that’s what make this Autumn Leaves paper both beautiful and striking – as is the scripture on the card – what a powerful reminder!!  The stamp set is one that was released on March 17th to celebrate the one year anniversary of Our Daily Bread Designs and is called Scripture Collection 2.

For this card I simply cut a Spellbinders Labels Four using a reverse stenciling technique (cover the template with a pigment based ink then cut in your die cut machine).   I then stamped my sentiment and popped it up over some ribbon tails, added a button with a black pearl and punched out the name of the verse.  As a final touch, I cut a Spellbinders Blossom, further cut it into quarters and used one quarter in the bottom left hand corner of the card.

Thank you so much for your kind words while I was away Guest Blogging all week.  I feel like I’m home now, comfy and cozy on familiar ground.   You all are utterly fabulous and I wish you and your families a very blessed Easter.

Card Recipe:
Stamps:  Our Daily Bread Designs – Scripture Collection 2
Paper:  Autumn Leaves, The Paper Company – Black, Solar White
Ink:  Black Brilliance, Versacolor Scarlett
Accessories:  Spellbinders Labels Four, Spellbinders Blossom, Button, Ribbon

Becca, I also have this paper; bought it because of the poppies. But when it was time to use it on a card, the boldness kept me from actually creating more than one. Your card is beautiful and am going to implement an idea of yours, the corner frame since I recently purchased Spellbinder dies. Blessings and thank you again, from the bottom of my heart, for your continued commitment to share God’s word with the world.ReplyCancel

It is time for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge (FTTC10).  Silke Ledlow is our challenge hostess this week. She is bringing us a fun challenge that I am sure will be one of your favorites!!!!  We are to use our favorite Flourishes stamp set!!!!  There are so many fabulous choices to choose from it will be a challenge just to choose.  However, never fear, if you do not yet own any Flourishes stamps, please choose your favorite stamp set of all time.  Also, check out the Flourishes Blog to find out how you can get some Flourishes Favorites stamps at a special price just for today!!!!

For this card I embossed vellum with white then colored the white embossing with chalks – I think it leaves the neatest look with the the white around the edges.  So that the chalk would "take" to the embossing, I sanded it lightly.

Card Recipe:
Stamps:  Flourishes – Birds and Vines, Flourishes – Mixed Greetings
Paper:  Pergamano Vellum, The Paper Company – Solar White – K & Co., – Madeline
Ink:  Versamark and White Embossing Powder, Black Memento
