Amazing Paper Grace S5-399 Candlewick Rectangles - see more information at www.amazingpapergrace.com/?p=35476
Hi Friends, last month we introduced Candlewick Sampler and this month we are introducing a small companion collection that drives home that sweet Candlewick look. We introduce these so that there is a central place you can see them and how they are used; we hope you will welcome Candlewick Classics.  If you loved Hemstitch Classics like Hemstitch Rectangles then you’ll love the individual new dies options in the 6 die collection.  These are basics you’ll definitely want to evaluate for your stash plus they layer seamlessly onto Candlewick Sampler Dies.

A Bit About Candlewick Classics

Nowhere does the candlewick look and feel come through more than on the Candlewick classics.  It’s a delicate look reminiscent of actual candlewicking and punctuated by the rounded motifs that imply French knots.  Candlewick Classics are classic square, circle, oval and rectangle label shapes that are bordered with the candlewick motif in the most useful card making sizes.  They also mix and match with the Hemstitch Classics.

What is Candlewicking? Browse the google images and you will see that it is a type of whitework embroidery normally done on cream or white fabric embellished with cream or white french knots.  The series of french knots create the outlines of the pattern giving it a unique look while adding a touch of elegance.  In these dies, you can see rounded motifs that hint at the texture of dots.  Without overpowering, it’s a sweet little detail present on all the dies in the collection.  Plus, it just happens to be the perfect spot to place a pearl.

My Cards For Today

I’m introducing S5-399 Candlewick Rectangles

Here is what the plate actually looks like.

I so love Hemstitch Rectangles, it has been a go-to die for me for years.  I kind of felt like it needed a sister, or something else I could use every now and again.  Enter Candlewick Classics, the little sister to Hemstitch Classics.  It gives me a fresh new look to the classic layering I’ve been doing for the past couple of years.  While Hemstitch are tiny boxes reminiscent of the look of that needle application on linen, Candlewick is round and romantic and looks like tiny little knots.  Because I’ve been dying to, I topped them all off with pearls.  I won’t do that every time but for the the first time out, I thought it befitting :-)

Here is the detail up close :-)  You can either cut frames or you can have a solid panel.  I love the texture and the fact that you can layer another color behind your panel and it makes the detail just pop!

I love it when you do pearls! And, as you pointed out, the dies make places to put pearls. That will make it much easier for my arthritic hands to operate the tweezers! Win-win! Your card was, as usual, gorgeous, very stylish and much needed as a staple in anyone’s stash. Amazing Paper Grace November 2019 Die of the Month - Winter Solstice Snowflake - learn about this die at www.amazingpapergrace.com/?p=35537
We always need that one Christmas die that makes an easy, classic, Christmas card with a minimum of fuss.  It’s even better if you can shift the dies around to get a couple of different configurations if you get tired of the first.  Winters Solstice Snowflake is that ‘go to’ for me this holiday season.  I was so tickled playing with this to come up with a card, a box, a tag and ornament, and a frame.  Whew!  I designed it so that it can be used all year around.  Just change your embellishments and you’re home free!

Inspiration for Winters Solstice Snowflake

I knew the six-sided shape was going to be perfect for layering.  I’ve not created with a hexagon before and the pretty pattern inside along with a round doily shape certainly tilted toward Christmas.  The wonderful thing is, these designs are classic and can be used year-round.

It took a while but I wanted to parlay that lovely six-sided shape in a box.  As you know, I believe in ensemble sets and created a video to show you how to make the matching box for your card.  A little bit of snipping, some folding and voila — a box!  I encourage you to watch and try!

Amazing Paper Grace Guest Designer Henriette van Mierlo shares a beautiful card using S4-852 Layered Bundle of Joy - see full post at www.amazingpapergrace.com/?p=35525
Every month we welcome a new Guest Designer to the Amazing Paper Grace Blog.  It’s an excellent opportunity to add a spin on style to what you see here day to day.  Today, I’m thrilled to be introducing Henriette van Mierlo to the Amazing Paper Grace Blog.   Henriette will be sharing designs during November 2019 and I know you’ll just find that her style is calm, cozy and sweetly embellished.

The first die she is highlighting is Layered Bundle of Joy and her parade of pastels is perfect for this series of baby cards.  Be sure to take a peek at her blog every week of October for a new creation using Amazing Paper Grace dies.  Let’s meet Henriëtte!!

Henriette van Mierlo Headshot

Hi, all! My name is Henriëtte van Mierlo.

I was very flattered to be invited as a guest designer for Amazing Paper Grace.

Here’s a bit about me;

I live in The Netherlands with Robert and I have an 18-year-old daughter. I work part-time in financial administration and in my spare time my biggest passion is crafting.

Years ago I started with stamping and making cards and through the years I also created foamiran flowers, mixed media projects, albums, boxes, and junk journals.  Yes, I’m addicted to paper.  I also love reading, traveling and I go to the gym 2/3 times a week. In short, I’m never bored.

I’m excited to share my creations with you this month.

Thanks Becca, for this amazing opportunity and the beautiful dies!

Hugs, Henriëtte.

I just love the layers of design paper and how well they mesh together.  Her use of batting as a layer is genius and again adds a layer.  Please follow Henriëtte through the month as she spins some amazing designs with Amazing Paper Grace dies.

I hope to see you tomorrow for the new die of the month!

    Hi, Becca,
I think Henriette must be a bundle of joy! These cards are so beautiful and the use of batting as a layer is a stroke of genius – doesn’t it give one the feel of a baby blanket? I checked out her blog and I can’t wait to see what she has in store for us this month.
    Love & blessings,
    SandyReplyCancel
