Card Making Ideas by Becca Feeken using Spellbinders Graceful Fans - fully supply list at www.amazingpapergrace.com
Good morning sweet friends!   Popping in today to share another card for Day of Giving Friday.  Since I’m at CHA I thought the sentiment I’m showing today would be so, so appropriate!  Do Something Creative Every Day.  WRBF-6001-2017
Today I’m giving away another of the cards made with Graceful Borders but it is done in the conventional way.  I’ve taken Spellbinders Graceful Fans and simply stacked it up to make a half-high background (you know I love doing this).  You simply adhere each layer, overlapping, using foam tape.  This seems so frilly!!  For the bottom, I’ve used one of the three borders from Graceful Sweet Words to add an arched scallop to the bottom.

About Day of Giving Friday
For new readers, every Friday it’s my pleasure to give away a card.   The card goes to a randomly picked reader (worldwide) who leaves a comment in our conversation. Want to know more about Day of Giving, here’s a link to my FAQ’s just check out #11.  You can check to see if your name is on the list of winners HERE!  For your comment:  I’m taking in a new city today – where did you grow up and why was it special?

Wow!! I adore this card!! So beautiful!!!

I grew up in a small town in NJ and it’s special to me because of all the childhood memories I have there. Times with my sister and family and friends.ReplyCancel

I grew up in rome, ny. what was special about it was that it was a small town with big city activities. I grew up in the 60’s-70’s. we had supper sports for girl’s and boy’s. long before title 9. we could learn tennis, golf, archery, and swimming at no cost to us. we were encouraged to play outside.

    love today’s card.ReplyCancel

Welcome to sunny Arizona, Becca! Lol. Sorry it’s not so sunny for your visit. Normally this time of year is beautiful, but unfortunately this year we are having a rough winter.

I grew up in the suburbs of Chicago, Illinois. I think my era of childhood was special, not because of where I lived, but rather because of the time period. It seemed to be more peaceful & we certainly did not have to worry about playing in the streets or speaking to adults we did not know. We were taught to speak when spoken to, so we answered.

I adore the Phoenix area & would prefer to never have to move, but I love the city of Chicago for the culture, architecture, and the lake front. Beautiful!

Just like your stunning card design today. The softness is so soothing. I could sit & stare at it forever!ReplyCancel

Hi Becca it is always so nice to receive your posts as your cards are always beautiful. The choice of dies the colour of the card and the composition are always so beautifully thought out, I think anyone would be pleased to receive line of your cards. I don’t really have one special special? place as we moved around whilst I was young, but my home now is special as it is where I was living when my children were born so it will always be special.

I started growing up in a small rural area. No neighbors really. We were a small mom and pop gas station that sold different sundries. We did have a small store not too far from our house that I would now call a convenience store. We lived on US1. When I95 was built that basically killed the business. But before that we had good times. I played with my brothers and we always got along. You laid on the ground and watched the clouds and made shapes out of them. You watched airplanes when they flew over, you got to watch doodlebugs dig in the sand. When you went into town it was exciting. School was wonderful. Then when we moved to the suburbs everything changed. I learned things like cuss words and how bad and mean people could be. It was a culture shock. I wish all kids could grow up in small towns and be just kids and not have to worry about the internet and video games.ReplyCancel

  • MildredJanuary 20, 2017 - 11:47 am

Well, I didn’t grow up in a city. It was a rural area. Gravel roads, no sidewalks, septic systems, no street lights. And we walked a mile each way to school. And to church, to the movies and to each other’s houses. It was special because it was just so peaceful and quiet. And I got to have a big German shepherd. Good times. Another great card.ReplyCancel

Another beautiful card today, Becca, for a very lucky recipient. I was born and grew up in a coal mining community in a South Wales valley in the U.K. It was special because of the real sense of community, where people had very little but helped one another. Although I have moved on, I will always remember my roots and be grateful for the true values on which I was brought up and remain adhered to.ReplyCancel

Lovely card today! I grew up in a suburb of LA. IT was special because it was right up against the foothills and we could go hiking easily, and be out of the house within ten minutes or so to from our home. I learned to be independent that way. I love the new dies! And the colors in this card are so soft and it is so beautiful. I grew up in a very tiny village in Wisconsin, Mt. Horeb, which is much bigger today. The town was full of traditions and was so proud of its Norwegian heritage. I missed the music, the festivals and the Norwegian language sung in the churches, long after I left.ReplyCancel

Wow! What a gorgeous card. Love those dies. I grew up in a suburb of St. Louis MO. What’s special is there were (and still are) a lot of fun things to do that are free or cost very little. We have an amazing park that includes a wonderful zoo, a huge open air theater, two wonderful museums and lots more. Of course now there’s the Gateway Arch (it was finished the year I graduated from high school) which is amazing. There is also a great botanical garden and lots of fun neighborhood festivals. I also love the changing seasons (though not crazy about cold weather). I still live here and still love it.ReplyCancel

WOUW Becca this is sooo gorgeous. I´m always sooo amazed by the beauty you manage to get out in every single card you ever make, and also this one here.
I grew up on a huge farm, where my dad was wmployed to help in the stables with the animals, and it was amazing, but ofcause very different from living in a city, but I absolutely loved it there, even I was the only girl among all the workers kids, all the rest was about 7 or 8 boys in different ages, so I had to learn things the hard way, if I wanted to be in, but I wouldn´t trade it for anything in the world, and it sure learned m,e to deal with most issuess through life, one can think of, which is pretty cool.ReplyCancel

I grew up in the Midwest in Des Moines, Iowa. As a young person, I never thought that my city and state were anything special. As I’ve matured and visited other places, I’ve come to realize there is a lot to love about where I grew up. I’d say the people are one of the reasons. We are friendly here. Another gorgeous card! Even though you have again used the “stacked borders” design on your card it looks different than the other “stacked borders” cards – love that!! Can’t wait to see the new products from CHA! Enjoy!! I was born in Washington, D.C and we moved to Southern California when I was 6. Torrance isn’t considered a small town but our neighborhood was very close-knit and it was a lovely place to grow up. It didn’t hurt that we were only 5 miles from the ocean and maybe 2 hours from the desert or the mountains and we could visit whenever we wanted.ReplyCancel

Bautiful card – as always!! I grew up in a small town in Iowa called Strawberry Point. Supposedly it was called that because the early pioneers found of a small hill where wild strawberries grew. Whatever – it was a great place and time to grow up. Everyone knew everyone – we were all in the same boat, only the banker and lawyer was “wealthy”. We lived less than a block from school and came home every day for lunch. After school, my sisters and I and five or six girlfriends would gather around the TV and watch American Bandstand. And we saw Elvis on TV!! Such memories.Mom was a stay at home Mom and took such good care of us. We had not one, but two huge gardens and Mom would can and pickle everything she could get her hands on. In the spring we went to the 100 acre woods and look for morel mushrooms (and spring flowers) and in the fall, it was walnuts, butternuts and hickory nuts. In the winter Dad would crack them out and we would pick them out for the cookies and candy Mom would make. I learned to count by playing cards with my folks and siblings (there were 9 of us kids – just the one boy). Church was a important in our lives and I enjoyed Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. When the church ladies put on their dinners, we girls were always called upon to help. There was the theatre to go to on weekends and after school was the Dairy Bar where you could buy a coke for 5c and put a few coins in the jutebox and listen to your favorite music! My husband and I always say were were born in the best of times and we were!! For which we both are very thankful. Good luck at CHA! I’m sure you will be a hit with your new dies!!ReplyCancel

What a lovely and appropriate card! Love the frilly look. I grew up in a small town in Ohio and what made it very special actually wasn’t the town at all, it was my grand mother who actually ived in the next town over. Visiting her and being with her was my favorite thing to do. I just loved her yard, full of flowers that she let me pick! A cherry tree that I ate all of the cherries I could off of and the rest my Grams made into sweet pies! A small cluster of apples trees in the back yard kept us supplied with Granny smiths and red apples. Being at Grams house was like my Heaven on Earth. I still dream about that place and have fond memories of it still. It was truly the love of my Grandma that made the place so special and I miss her still today! Now that I am the Grammie, I try to make my house and yard just as appealing to my grand daughters with Flower fairy gardens, strawberry and raspberries and all sorts of veggies to snack on, similar to how my Grams did for me. But most of all, I try to love them as much as I possibly can!

I love this card with the petticoat effect! It brought back memories of a party dress my mother made for me out of lace when I was about 6. She was a fine needlewoman and so my clothes were handmade and different!
I grew up in a town in the south east of England. We lived in a small cul-de-sac of 31 houses and we lived at one side of the banjo and my aunt and uncle lived at the other side, just 4 doors away. Our houses backed onto a large field where all the children from the road would play and where every November, we would build a huge bonfire and everyone would pool their fireworks to have a display. We would wrap potatoes in tin foil and bake them in the fire and heat tomato soup, sausages and baked beans round the edges which we would then eat in our wellies, coats, hats and scarves! So exciting! Most of our neighbours didn’t have cars and so we were able to roller skate quite safely around the pavements. Life was uncomplicated, gentle and good!
Thanks for the memory prompt, Becca! hope you are enjoying CHA.

Another really beautiful card. Would love to be there with you at CHA. Got connections in Phoenix and it could be so much fun. Anyway, Martinsville Va was a fairly midsized town in its day with a booming economy. Nylon Capital, Textile Capital and Furniture manufacturing were all very productive business growing up. The stories you hear about living in “good ole days” were very true there. Now it is a very lazy town with not much going on. Folks there are trying to bring the arts to the area to make it a quaint small town. We’ll see.ReplyCancel

Well, I grew up in Hutchinson, Kansas and well they are famous for the State Fair, The Annual RV Show, The Annual Home and Garden Expo. But the last time I was there they were suffering a major loss of residents due to the Brine well explosions and the Gas pockets up under the city due to the Cary Salt Mine . They closed the mine and turned it into a museum and restaurant last I heard. but hat would have been 13 years ago this February 14th when my now hubby flew me up to get me out of a very volatile family situation.

I was afraid I was going to miss this as I just got back into town after traveling three hours over the mountain to have a biopsy done. I will not find anything out until Tuesday at the earliest. Just praying it is not the Big BC…. So I would like to ask anyone who prays to think of me :).ReplyCancel

What a gorgeous card. . . Gosh I hope I win this one!!! You’ve out done yourself, I’m in love with this gorgeous card and sentiment!
I grew up in the SanFernando Valley, Sepulveda, CA, yes you can say I’m “a Valley girl” ha ha ha.
Why was it special, oh I have such fond memories of growing up, family time, a neighborhood where all our neighbors lived there for at least 35-40 yrs, so they are more like family than the neighbor next door, many, many a night of playing kick ball/softball/fressbie in the street with teams consisting of children and parents. Lots of times where families would gather at a house just to visit! Summers spent going to the ocean, Zumba beach, or play games, card games, Spoons or whatever we fancied at the time for a whole afternoon.
What a wonderful question, thank you for letting me return to my childhood and the wonderful memories.
Have a great time at CHA, visiting the new city and visiting with all who stop by to meet you!!!!ReplyCancel

This is such a pretty card Becca, and it is on my wish list to purchase. I grew up in Colorado and what a great time it was. When we finished chores we would head up to the mountains, which were only a few blocks away, and hike all afternoon. We would take a lunch, snack and some water. It was good to share the hike with a sister or friend. The best of hiking was lunch time as we sat on a big rock and watched all of God’s critters scurrying around and listen to the pines sing on a windy day. I wished those who were unable to experience this time will somehow hear and see it.ReplyCancel

This is a beautiful design, I truly adore it. We are all so glad you came into our lives with your designs.

I grew up on the California coast in Rolling Hills Riviera,(not as swanky as it sounds). We had so much freedom as children, we could play on the hills and slide down them in boxes, ride skateboards down the steep hills and skin every part of our bodies (including noses) and never lock our doors. It was safe and fun. Couldn’t go home again but sure had some great memories from grade school to high school graduation and my first year of college.ReplyCancel

Yours is a card that I must learn to make. It’s lovely. I was born in Honolulu, Hawaii and grew up in a country sugar plantation camp. It was an idyllic wonderful place to grow up. We played kick ball and marbles in the ball field, hop scotch in the middle of the road, made sling shots out of guava branches and ate seasonal fruits from your yard, baked our own cookies and learned embroidery and sew our own clothes. The camp no longer exist but the memories are forever.ReplyCancel

Hello Becca – you are in my neck of the woods this weekend since I live southeast of Phoenix! I hope you enjoy your time here. I actually grew up in southern California and feel incredibly blessed to have grown up in a small town atmosphere outside the big city of Los Angeles. Our town was in the foothills above Los Angeles and was a wonderful place to grow up. A job transfer is the only reason I’m in Arizona but I do love it here too.

Every time I see a card or project you’ve created with your border dies, I get even happier that I purchased the entire collection. Today”s card is no exception because it is so lovely yet I can see it isn’t too difficult to recreate. I love the ruffled look! I wish you could know just a bit of the inspiration we feel when you share with your beautiful projects with us! Have a wonderful weekend!ReplyCancel

Hi Becca, it was SO good to see you on tv here in England, please can you come back again soon and stay longer! I grew up in Northampton here in England during the 50s. We were very poor and always had toast and dripping for tea on thursdays, the day before payday. They were wonderful, carefree days. We played ball games and skipped in the street and always felt safe. Good manners and a caring attitude were top of the way we were expected to behave. I loved it all, even having a heated brick, wrapped in old blanket to warm me at night in bed. Now I live in North Devon where it is a slower pace of life and I can spend sunny days looking out over the estuary from my terrace. Bliss! Love, love, love your designs xReplyCancel

Happy Friday sweet friends!  A short post today – all is good in my world and I hope it is in yours too!  Today I’m sharing an ombre watercolored background with ombre dyed ribbon on a card about what’s so dear to us all – family! How very true these words are so I thought it perfect for today’s giveaway.

This saying is one of my very favorites and of course the sentiment is perfectly cut with a circle.  I’ve been so fortunate lately to have had so many of my family visit me. This past weekend was a mother/daughter dining out, shopping, binge watching Game of Thrones, and pajamas kind of weekend.   As I stop to realize all there is to be grateful for, life doesn’t get better than this.  I know it sounds silly . . . I can get in the car and go visit any time I want, but as she pulled out of the driveway and reached the end of the street – a flood of tears.  The absolute joy of family!

A die cut background or embossing background set the stage for a wonderful palette of texture.  I love working with full backgrounds so I used Spellbinders French Harmony and highlighted my sentiment cut with Spellbinders Standard Circles Small by backing with  Spellbinders Stately Circles.

Hi. Your card is beautiful. The last time I cried was two days ago. I had spent the day with my daughter and two beautiful grandchildren and as I was driving away my little grandson was waving with a very wobbly bottom lip! Bless him, I just burst in to tears at the sight of his sad little face. Family is everything. Good wishes to you.ReplyCancel

Beautiful card and sentiment Becca!!! I am shedding tears right now as I read your blog – reflecting on our small family so many miles away. We are dealing with the terminal illness of my husband, a Father to a daughter and a step-son. So thankful for FaceTime, phone, and e-mails so we can all keep in touch and share frequent moments together. They live on the other coast – thus visiting is difficult in person. Would be an encouraging joy to have your card on my desk to remind me what a blessing family is all about!

Tears came to my eyes today as I was able to feed my mom some ice cream. She stopped eating a few days ago and neither the nurses nor I could get her to eat anything. Today she was good as gold and ate two little cups of ice cream. She will be 100 next month.ReplyCancel

What a beautiful card, Becca! I tear up every time I think about my brother, whose health issues have made him a shadow of what he used to be. Another beautiful card, and a lovely sentiment. I live very far from all of my blood relatives, but I have a large circle of friends who are the closest folks to family one could ever have. The last time I cried was a few weeks ago when my hubby almost died when a “simple” procedure went terribly wrong. It was a terrifying 48 hours, but he amazingly pulled out of it. He finally came home yesterday and is recovering very well… all of my family and friends helped pull him through it. we are blessed indeed…ReplyCancel

    Happy Friday, Becca,
Your post comes as a real blessing this week since it allows me to affirm my connection with what really matters. This has been an emotionally draining week at my job-feeling devalued and unappreciated, a deep sense of disconnection. Many tears. But, healing tears to restore peace and calm. I’ve felt the comforting presence of the Lord assuring me that in the natural order of life there is a “Time for Turning”- and like the leaves on the trees outside my window, there’s a time for letting go.
    Love & blessings,

I have to admit that a film, music, book, almost anything can move me to tears. Also when I’m with friends I can cry with laughter and happiness.

    Hello Becca,
Love the card today. I love color! I, too, have 4 children and their families in Texas and 1 son and family in Washington State. Much too far away! Since I’m in New Jersey tears fill my eyes regularly, especially when they hit any milestone and I’m not there to cheer them. I’ve always wondered how one can show love and pride from such a distance. But then I remember raising them all and know that they know they are loved to the moon and back. Becca, you have a way of unveiling those deep feelings that when shared, makes the sun shine. Hugs to you, SaraReplyCancel

This morning I took down a framed anniversary card that my husband gave me many years ago to dust the frame. His message was so sweet and loving. So many wonderful memories. My sons and I were blessed to have him in our life.ReplyCancel

My prayers go out to all that are going through hard times. I have 2 times I’ve shed tears this year. Most recent was on a trip last month to celebrate our 30th anniversary coming up in October. We met another couple and just had the best time with and I was passing out napkins to dry all of our laughter tears. Makes me laugh just thinking about it! My sad tears were for our sweet doggie, Teddy, that we lost at 12-½ years old. Seriously just totally broke my heart. My silent tears were 3 days ago at the 4-year mark of my sweet Mama’s passing. So glad to read of you getting to enjoy so many precious moments with yours. It’s so wonderful and I’m so thankful and makes me smile to have those memories with mine! Love, love your card and the sentiment is wonderful!ReplyCancel

Hi Becca. I can certainly relate to your daughter’s visit. So bitter sweet when they have to leave. As far as when the last time I cried….how about when I saw Pete’s Dragon 3 days ago! It doesn’t take much to turn on the waterworks. I’ve never felt shame over tears. I truly feel for those that can’t cry.
I’ve had a hard Aug and many tears for two beautiful ladies in my life. Hospitals are such a difficult place to be, but God’s miracles are all around us. HE is good!!
Your card is beautiful and the sentiment so true. Glad all is well in your world. Happy Fall.

Lovely card, and what a true sentiment! The teal-ey, aqua-ish, green-ey colors are so inviting, and I love how it all goes together.

Last time I cried…with joy how well my daughter is turning around her life lately. It is truly the work of the Holy in her life…and answer to prayers long prayed, and a blessing to watch as healing happens for her and our family.

Blessings, Becca, to you and yours

Yes, the sentiments resonate deep familial emotions and memories…a most beautiful card. The last time I absolutely bawled my heart out was when my dog Kainoa died. She couldn’t tell me she was hurting or suffering from cancer until it was too late and I could only hold her and let her know that I loved her and will miss her forever. Her happy smile and wagging tail belied all that she living through and I felt so helpless. But I realized the joy and comfort that she gave me for so many years and that she was God’s gift to me. Her memory lives in me.ReplyCancel

Hi Becca, Another gorgeous card, the sentiment is beautiful, the die-cuts are lovely and the ombre colourway is so pretty.
I have to admit that I cry too easily, I sometimes wish that I was ‘harder’, I cried yesterday whilst listening to a friend tell me that her husband was dying. I cry at movies on a regular basis, when they are happy and when they are sad. I am very emotional haha.

  • Bette SSeptember 10, 2016 - 8:59 pm

Actually the last time I cried was August 31. My sister’s 23 year old grandson was killed in a car accident. A smart, good looking kid with his life ahead of him. Jimmy had a winning smile and was loved by everyone, was fluent in five languages and very interested in everyting around him. To add to this tragedy, twenty years ago his younger sister who was 10 months old at the time, drowned in the bathtub, but was revived and has been in a vegetive state ever since. She is 20 years old now and never learned to walk or talk. She is fed through a tube in the stomach and needs around the clock care. My sister lost another grandchild – her son’s child – when he was a toddler of two years old who drowned in my sister’s fish pond. I just worry about my sister and her family – how much more does this family have to suffer? I wish I had answers for them or even some words of wisdom, but all I could do was cry. Please keep them in your prayers. Thanks.ReplyCancel

I love this beautiful card and the lovely sentiment. I have been on a trip to spend time with my Mother and all my siblings. My Mother turned 85 on Sept. 7 and her sister and my favorite Auntie turns 80 on Sept. 15. So…we had a BIG party on Saturday!!!! It was an absolutely fabulous party with lots of family, friends and great food! The turnout exceeded our expectations so our family got lots of visiting done. It was wonderful to see how much love and respect these two women of God received from those who have been blessed to be a part of their lives. I’ve had to say too many goodbyes in the last few days, including my own daughter who had to return home to Minnesota but they are joyful goodbyes because we’ve had so much fun together. What precious memories we have made and what a blessing to honor our Mother and Auntie!ReplyCancel

Good morning and Happy (Day of Giving) Friday.  I love giving no occasion cards and thankfully this supports all the justifications I have for card making.  Let’s face it, there’s a gap from one holiday to the next so this is what fills in the cracks and puts the responsible facade on the front of some of my collecting habits :-). Seriously though, of all the cards given, holiday cards seem to be anticipated, while that ‘no occasion’, ‘just because’ card is simply a spontaneous surprise and likely at the time that it is needed the most.  My thought for you today is to never doubt your own kindness.  It is not frivolous and you can never measure how much you have lifted someone at their darkest moment.  Today I’m sharing a simple blessing card.  I duplicated this card many times to send out to friends and I’m letting my last one go…

Beautiful card Becca. I love sending the people I care about a card just to let them know I am thinking about them. It doesn’t have to be just for a special occasion. Becca, your words just brought tears to my eyes today because you really never know when you send the “just because” card how much it will touch someone. In this day of social media we are losing the gesture of sending cards “just because”. We text, we instant-message, but we are often too busy to send something beautiful like this card of yours. You are an inspiration to us all.
I send more “thinking of you” than holiday cards. In fact, I don’t send many holiday cards at all anymore. Maybe I’ll do better this year!ReplyCancel

  • KathyJuly 29, 2016 - 10:00 am

Beautiful card. I definitely send out more holiday cards than “just because”. I send 20 cards for each holiday, so as soon as one holiday ends, I start planning for the next. Right now I am finishing Halloween, but I have several ideas for Thanksgiving on the drawing board. Of course, I also make birthday & thank you cards throughout the year. I have embraced a suggestion from Jennifer McGuire & try to make multiples of the same card so I always have one ready to go! Blessings to you!ReplyCancel

Good morning, Becca. Your card for today is so perfect! Although I love the idea of sending a card spontaneously for “no occasion” I’m always so behind in the cards for birthdays, etc. that I never seem to be able to make cards ahead! This card is so beautiful and I will probably attempt to do it for a special birthday or an anniversay for someone special. If I ever get organized, who knows maybe someday I, too, can surprise a lucky friend of mine with this “no occasion” card. It could happen. Thanks, as always, for sharing your wonderful talent and creative ideas.ReplyCancel

Your “Blessing” card is beautiful. I give/send more all occasion cards than Holiday cards if one counts Birthday and Anniversary cards in the all occasion cards. I find as I am aging and my friends are aging and they are going through life’s trials and health issues, I am making and sending out loads of “thinking of you” cards to lift their spirits. When I first found your blog last summer during your give away a day card time, one of your questions had to do with what do we do with the extra cards we make. My answer at that time was to tell you I was making one card at a time and did not have any extras on hand. Well, times have changed. And now I do make more of the same design, changing colors and placements to change them up to have extras on hand. That way I can get my cards in the mail sooner without the waiting time of making one card at a time. Wishing you a most pleasant weekend. How’s your foot?ReplyCancel

This is a great idea to give ‘no occasion’ cards. I love making them more than any other kind of card. When my daughter was away from home, I used to make and send her encouragement cards often but now she is home, I don’t. Maybe I need to start up that practice again! Right now I make more holiday and occasion cards. You’ve created another beautiful card for us Becca! Thanks for sharing!ReplyCancel

  • Joanne LoweJuly 29, 2016 - 10:48 am

Definitely more of the anytime cards–thank you, get well, thinking of you, etc. I love sending an encouragement card, hoping to make a whole lot more once my craft room is completely overhauled, and I just bought a new electric die-cutting machine (Gemini by CC), and am hoping that this is going to make die-cutting and card-making a lot easier physically. Can’t wait to try some watercoloring on images heat embossed in white or clear, I really want to try this, and I’m hoping I can do a decent job.

Always LOVE your cards, Becca!!! You are such an encouragement and a blessing to all of us here who read your blog updates regularly, and I know to all of those loved ones around you. I hope you know just how much you mean to all of us!!! And I hope that you have dear ones who regularly encourage YOU!!! • Marilyn in E~TownJuly 29, 2016 - 10:57 am

Gorgeous card! I love your loopy bow, such a sweet addition. I love to send “just because” cards at any time, for any reason. Who wouldn’t want to find a gorgeous hand made card in their mail box, talk about a spirit lifting moment! I can visualize smiling faces now.
I also made it a mission of mine to make a project every year for the ladies at my church, then I mail it to them on their birthdays, it is as much of a pleasure for them to receive as it is for me to make, thinking of each of them as I assembly the project. So far I’ve done cards with flower bouquets, cards with a hand colored image and this year they get a puff pillow box, with flowers and a mini birthday card inside. 2017 will be a tag with a Magnolia-Lucius image colored on it.
Oh how I love to brighten other people’s day?

Especially the last couple of years life has been a bit rough, so I haven´t got as many holidaycards done, as I used to earlier, but I alwayas manage one way or another to get them at least one card during the year, either for their birthday or sometime else, or just because, and that´s because all other people make or get cards to give for these special occasions, but then I´ll make one for some other time, when they least expect it, and it can hopefully make their day at that time.
Thanks sooo much for sharing this gorgeous card here today Becca, it´s soooo gorgeous and sooo elegant. I just absolutely love it with that fabulous bow on it.ReplyCancel

This card is one of the most breath-taking I have ever seen. I was totally stunned when I opened the page. After several years making and looking at cards made by others, I’d say it is not easy to take my breath away.

I give more anytime cards. It just so good to keep in touch with family and friends.

Thank you for sharing this beautiful creation.ReplyCancel

I so love your cards and especially your dies! As to what cards I make the most, I’m on the design team for Crafters companion so I rarely have the time to make cards to give “just because” although I do try to for both our parents as they do so much for us. It’s our 17th wedding anniversary today and I’ve been so busy with dt work plus we’ve just moved that today is the first time since I’ve been making cards that my poor hubby didn’t get one. When I apologised he don’t worry I have loads you’ve made me.

I love making cards of all types and styles so I try to stockpile a few of everything almost finished and wait for the occasion to pop up and I finish and send. I probably send out more Birthday and Holiday cards than Special days ones but those are the ones that are more special to me and much more personal to the one I send it to…..this one is a beauty.ReplyCancel

    Hi, Becca,
YOU are a blessing! I can see why you duplicated this card – it is so beautiful, sight and sentiment.
While I do make a lot of cards at the holidays, especially Christmas, I make cards for my church and community choirs to reach out to our members in greater quantities. “Thinking of You” cards for Sympathy or health concerns are the most common, with “Thank You” cards in the mix, as well. I am challenged to keep up with demand, but I am honored to have many people around me that appreciate and encourage my craft.
Love and blessings for your health & happiness,
    SandyReplyCancel

The ‘just thinking of you cards’ are so important and I am trying to send more of them as they are real spirit lifters! I know how lovely it is to receive such a sentiment.
I send about 200 Christmas cards and it would be pretty hard to catch up with that number, but you never know….
Hope your foot is healing well and that you are having great times with your mother!

I give mostly Birthday or Anniversary cards…but do some anytime ones too. Haven’t had lots of card making time this year…or money to buy new toys to inspire me to make more, so been a bit slower on giving cards than I hopped to be…but I did manage to make a anytime card for all my Aunt’s and Uncle’s this year…hope to do more for them, but least I did get something sent. LOVE this one you made, and that sentiment is wonderful! It’s one I need to have close to me sometimes, when I need that extra little reminder. :-))ReplyCancel

A truly lovely sweet card featured today. I make a lot of cards throughout the year but the birthday ones are given the most. I like remembering family and friend’s birthdays and they appreciate being remembered especially as we start reaching the 60 – 70 -80 mark. Hi Becca!
Love the cream color to this card. I seem to forget cream and go in favor of white. I love the layering on this card but especially love the pop of the pink ribbon and button details! I seem to give cards mostly for birthdays and holidays, although, I do send “brighten your day cards” to my two daughters who sometimes need a boost of confidence.
