Card Making Ideas by Becca Feeken using JustRite Multi-Step Lilac Bouquet and Spellbinders Grate Effects, Spellbinders Imperial Squares and Spellbinders Pierced Rectangles - www.amazingpapergrace.com
Sweet friends, lots to cover today and let me just mention you’ll find the winner of the Journal Trio at the bottom of my post.  Now on to the the view for today – grab some coffee and get ready to browse – you’ll have spring fever before it’s all over :-)  Today JustRite Papercraft is releasing new stamps and the design team had a wonderful time using Multi-Step Lilac Bouquet.  There’s a full instruction sheet with step-by-step instructions on how to put a bouquet together – the sheet is reminiscent of paint by numbers because it tells you exactly what to do.  I combined by card with JustRite Sympathy Handwritten Sentiments and used the Multi-Step Lilac Bouquet SVG files to cut all the flowers.  I had an absolute ball playing with this set.  At first glance, I thought it might be out of my comfort zone but not so, once I started playing and faollowing the instruction sheet – I was home free!
WRBF-4672-2015
If you look carefully, you’ll see that I didn’t get it “perfect”. . . no worries, that’s the charm of this multi-stamping because it’s the idea of the shading and definition that give this way of stamping its beauty.  I eyeballed lining things up and decided to go with the flow and not let it be stressful.  I’m just in love with the color, the contrast and the possibilities.

My 5-1/2″ x 7″ hinged card uses Spellbinders Pierced Rectangles as a frame filled in with Spellbinders Grate Effects.  I tucked all the individual elements inside the window and a couple on top of the window to give the illusion of dept.  Each individual item was easily attached with foam tape or a glue dot.  The embellishment in the upper corner is from Spellbinders Imperial Square.

Thank You Card Making Ideas by Becca Feeken using Quietfire Thanks Die and Martha Stewart Fans and Flourishes Punch - www.amazingpapergrace.com
Hiya friends, today I’m sharing a card with new Quietfire Dies!  Simply elegant, the “Thanks” was penned then put into design by my sweet friend Suzanne Cannon.  I love that it’s her handwriting and that it works in conjunction with the Thanks stamp set I used earlier this month in this post.   So I made a long profile card that fits into a business sized envelope.  Measuring 8-1/4″ x 4-1/4″ I mounted a panel punched with the Martha Stewart Fans and Flourishes border punch to get the length that I needed for the focal panel.  To give the die cut word a little bit of dimension against the cream I cut one in Aqua Mist and one in cream (darkened up with Antique Linen Distress Ink) and stacked them together with the bottom one slightly offset – that gives a little bit of shadow.
WRBF-4666-2015
I finished up with a bow and some pearls! :-)

CRAFT SUPPLIES I USED
Stamps:  Quietfire Design Thanks Die
Craft Paper
:  Neenah Classic Crest – Natural White – 80lb smooth, Papertrey Ink Aqua Mist
Ink:  None
Accessories: Martha Stewart Fans and Flourishes Border Punch, Recollections Pearls, May Arts Ribbon

So I hinted around yesterday that I’ll be starting a giveaway tomorrow.  You said you wanted to see some ideas of what to do with my new dies.  Well, this is my most favorite gift item, as of late,  and is made with my new Swirl Bliss Pocket die.  When you see how easy it is to make . . . well, I can’t wait to see what you think.   At any rate, I made this gift item in duplicate and one of the two are being given away here.  More details coming tomorrow :-)

I do like your dinky cards that you make and i can see why you love this “thanks” die as it is so clean but fluid and you can feel yourself writing just in this way, i just wish i could write big enough for it to be seen to make into a die in the first place. You are hinting about your swirl dies which i feel in love with the minute i seen them on your blog and ordered them up as i just think they are the most exquisite and stunning, versatile dies that i have purchased in a long time. Can’t wait to see what tomorrows project is though that i can make with them.

Scrapbook Page by Becca Feeken using Spellbinders Swirl Bliss Pocket in the Amazing Paper Grace Collection - www.amazingpapergrace.com
Hi there friends.  As promised I’m back with a project that uses my new Swirl Bliss Pocket die from the Amazing Paper Grace Collection.    I wanted to make something other than a card and I think the pockets lend themselves to so many cool projects – a scrapbook page seemed like a good thing to try out.   I talked myself into thinking it was a huge card :-).  Remember, baby steps.  I had just been to Rogers Gardens in Corona del Mar California with two of my sweet friends – Linda Duke and Tosha Leyendekker.   This home and garden destination has exquisite Christmas decorations and room after room of themed displays – we were happy girls and that explains the starry looks in our eyes.

Even though this is pictured from straight on and it’s hard to tell the dimension, I used the pocket die as if it were a cornice and it actually stands out from the page a bit.  By putting another pocket on the bottom it frames the picture.  Then I used the round element to carry embellishment across the page.  I also used Urban Blooms by A Gilded Life  for the spiral flowers and I printed all the memory specifics on Baby Buntings by a Gilded Life.  The tendrils that cascade down from the flowers are from Twisted Metal Tags and Accents.

This was a stretch for me but it feels great to try something out of my comfort zone :-)

CRAFT SUPPLIES I USED
Rubber Stamps:  None
Craft Paper:  Neenah Classic Crest 80 lb – Natural White,  The Paper Studio – Burlap Paper, Coredinations
Ink:  Victorian Velvet Distress Ink (on flowers)
Accessories:  Spellbinders Swirl Bliss Pocket by Amazing Paper Grace, Spellbinders Twisted Metal Tags and Accents,  Spellbinders Urban Blooms by A Gilded Life,  Spellbinders Baby Buntings by A Gilded Life, Recollection Pearls, Lace, May Arts Silk Ribbon

Thanks so much for stopping by, I’ll have more to share this week.  Happy Monday, I’m wishing you a glorious day!

Oh, by the way – are you sitting for a couple of minutes with your cup of coffee?  I’m gifting you this link to see a three minute video of Rogers Gardens.   Lol, I have to put up a little bit of a disclaimer that I can’t be held responsible for extreme longing, swooning or daydreaming today after you watch :-)   I’ve watched it twice and what a way to start the morning!  Here’s the link ——>https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D-lqjKg-g4A

Great to see you taking steps out of your comfort zone–I think when we always see such beauty in anything you create that we assume it’s all easy for someone like you with so much artistic ability. But it’s not easy for any of us. Thanks for that encouragement, I needed it today… :)

I have never done scrapbooking myself either, only cards and my tiny gallery on SCS (905lovestostamp) is just that, tiny, but I do have a dream of starting my own little blog someday, even if I’m the only one who reads it, it’s OK…. Yours was one of the first I read and I still feel so pleased when I see your blog name in my e-mail inbox. :)

You have done so well in these years since your beloved John went to heaven, and I know it was not at all easy, but you have continued to take steps forward with God’s help and the support of your family and so many who love you. I am thrilled every time I see you have a new die or a new stamp set, and I have bought many of them, bought all of your kits when you had those…

We all have our struggles, mine is a car accident disability that stopped my life cold, I’m so grateful for the hobby of card-making I have when I’m well enough to make one. My cards are simple but what joy in creating one! I thank you for all you continue to teach me… :) It’s so wonderful to see so many fellow believers in card-making, what a blessing!

Just know I am so very proud of all you have accomplished, and I know you will be doing so much more–all with God’s help and blessing.

    Best wishes,

WOW!! Beautiful layout Becca. If this is out of your comfort zone you have done an amazing job. I am also a scrap booker and this is just beautiful. I too combine my love of family history into my scrap booking pages and this would make a lovely wedding layout.ReplyCancel

Becca, as always your work is stunning. One can not tell by looking at this wonderful scrapbook page that you are out of your comfort zone!! You have a great talent and it shows in all that you create!! I really enjoyed the video you shared as it reminds me of a similar place here in Michigan called Bronner’s. It also is a Christmas wonderland. People have come from all over the world to visit. Looking forward to seeing more of your ideas and have a wonderful rest of your day!!

    Dear, dear Becca!
What a lovely layout. Love your use of texture, shape, and content. More please! (As time and desire premits, of course.) Maybe I should think of my cards as a scrapbook page. You think? :) Always willing to learn from a master crafter.ReplyCancel
