Christmas Card Making Ideas by Becca Feeken using Spellbinders Christmas Tree embossing folder and Heirloom Oval - www.amazingpapergrace.com
Hi there friends!  I’m checking in today with a quick card and a quick post to share.  Quick, because I’ve been on quite the craft wagon this weekend.  I’m so lucky to belong to a group of 12 ladies that have been paper crafting together for more than 12 years; we have a Christmas Party each year.  Collecting ideas throughout the year, we each make 12 (all the same) gifts and exchange them at the party.  I’m strutting a little bit from accomplishment because I made 12 bracelets – yes, I actually finished them!!  I wish I had gotten pictures but there just wasn’t time.  Our party was amazing and now we’re officially on the hunt for our ideas for next year.  All the hubbub of the weekend made me want to work on something simple so I picked this embossed card to work on.  The card is made from Spellbinders Merry Christmas embossing folder and the top header is made using Spellbinders Heirloom Oval.
WRBF-4520-2014
I used gilding flakes to apply the gold on top of the embossing.  Since it is not a precise method, the result looks shabby  and worn, I love it.  It was as easy as rolling my brayer through a dollop of Metal Leaf Adhesive and rolling over the raised part of the design.  Once dried, I applied 1 wispy sheet of leaf metal on top of the design and brushed away the excess!!  It’s been a long time since I worked with this thin leafing, I can’t wait to try it on a colored background!   For the gold banner, embossed the top part of the embossing folder with gold and cut the banner out then glued down for some contrast.

CRAFT SUPPLIES I USED
Stamps: None
Craft Paper
: Neenah Classic Crest – Natural White – Smooth, Gold poster board
Ink:  None
Accessories: Spellbinders Heirloom Oval, Spellbinders Merry Christmas embossing folder, Sewology Button, May Arts Silk Ribbon, Creative Concepts – Rose Copper Leaf, Speedball Metal Leaf Adhesive Size

Have a wonderful week sweet friends!!  See you soon!

Becca: How simply gorgeous is you card. I am always amazed when crafters extend themselves beyond their traditional genre. Now that you’ve sufficiently teased us – your followers – about you making jewelry venture, I am sure that me and others would love to see the bracelet. Maybe you could picture the bracelet on the arm of one of the twelve sister crafters (I am certain none have take their bracelet off!). Perhaps, sometime in January please consider crafting the 13th bracelet and photo it. Then, you would have a bracelet to wear. Wishing you a safe, festive and blessed Christmas. -DKReplyCancel

Sympathy Card Making Ideas by Becca Feeken using JustRite Caring Thoughts and Spellbinders Victorian Medallion Three - www.amazingpapergrace.com
Two cards in two days – yes, yes, yes, I’ve been a busy girl.  Good morning blog friends, today is Day 2 of new releases for Justrite Papercrafts.  Today my card is a sympathy card using Caring Thoughts – I hate to say that I find myself needing them more than I want to but the lovely thing about this set is the array of sentiments to plug in.  The Lily of the Valley florals are so delicate and need only a tiny bit of coloring – I used two greens from my Spectrum Noir Markers.  Isn’t the background die lovely?  That’s another new one from Spellbinders called Spellbinders Victorian Medallion Three.  On top of that I layered Spellbinders Labels Forty One – Decorative Elements and Spellbinders Classic Ovals SM.

The Lily of the Valley stamp can be manually cut or the  SVG Caring Thoughts Digital Download can be purchased.  Either way the stamps fit so nicely to border any shape you care to put in the middle.

I’m guessing that is a 6×6 card? It is so lovely. You remind me over and over again (like yesterday, too) to use colored paper with the dies…I tend to stick to neutrals, and I forget the depth that bit of color can add. Love this one!ReplyCancel

    Good morning Becca,
I know exactly what you mean by needing to make more and more of this type of card. It is the one type of card that i find really difficult as you don’t want to overdo it, on the other hand you don’t want it to look like you haven’t bothered. I love the calming colours of the green that you have used and along with the lily of the valley which is always a beautiful plant, it just says everything that needs to be said. Thank you Becca for tackling one of the most dreaded types of cards for us,
    Love and crafty hugs

Good morning blog friends!  First things first, I will be doing a tutorial on how I attached the border on the card from Monday HERE.  :-)  I’m tied up right now and have a release to get through, but I promise I will do it and you are gonna love how to do this!!  Just promise you will watch this space.  Squeal, you all were so nice about my card that I’m going to be giving away that card – all the more reason to just keep peeking.  So on to todays card, isn’t this new Spellbinders Heirloom Oval a piece of gorgeousness?  I knew it would be perfect to highlight the new Sentimental Flowers set by JustRite Papercraft.  It’s perfect for those who like to fussycut and there are SVG files HERE for those who need it cut quickly.
Thank you Card Making Ideas by Becca Feeken using Justrite Sentimental Flowers and Spellbinders Heirloom Oval - www.amazingpapergrace.com
For added victorian accent I used Spellbinders Victorian Corners to draw your eyes to the out corners of the card.  My flowers are colored with Spectrum Noir Markers and the background paper is one of my favorites from DigitalbyJanet  (I’ve used it several times).

You have the most gorgeous dies! This one is a stunner and it is the perfect backdrop for those lovely flowers. You did achieve a very Victorian look and I love it!ReplyCancel

Love these frilly dies. I have been busy working all summer and fall so been missing doing any cards since winter. Hate the snow, but my business slows down and I can be creative. Love these new diesReplyCancel
