Card Making Ideas by Becca Feeken using JustRite Home Bakery Labels and Vintage Tags
Hi there friends, I’m back for Day 5 of the JustRite Papercraft February releases and today my project centers around a very, very serious subject.  As a matter of fact when I sat down to write this post I wasn’t quite sure how to approach it.  I mean, when you see the card doesn’t one word sum it all up?  I’d say it does.  As a matter of fact, after a hard day, I’ve been known to use this word as an exclamation.  Yes, it’s true :-)  So no occasion necessary to send this card but once the recipient ‘gets it’, they’ll understand – just sayin’  The stamp set is Home Bakery Labels and  I alternated chocolate and cream layers with JustRite Vintage Tag Dies and Spellbinders Ornate Squares.

WRBF-4137-2014

Lol, the take ‘1’ by mouth is a hard instruction to follow.  When it comes to chocolate, who can eat just one?

    Hi Becca,
have been neglecting you these last few days because of Sue Wilson’s dies and she’s posting multiple cards of her collections on her blog every day. So of course, I want them all and keep drooling over the dies and the cards she has made.
But just had a peek at your blog and must say, your chocolate card today is lovely – simple elegance.
And I love what you’ve done with the Rose Postcard – what unexpected colour combos. I get so fed up when people think that roses must always be red/pink or any combination of the two……….
Keep inspiring us all – I love elegant cards.

Card Making Ideas by Becca Feeken using Spellbinders Silhouette and Spellbinders 5x7 Heirloom Legacy
Oh my, today is a total girly card, sweet friends.  I love cameos and silhouettes so I couldn’t wait to use Spellbinders Silhouette – so dainty!  I didn’t use stamps on the outside but I have a sentiment printed off for the inside that says, She is Clothed with Strength and Dignity and Laughs without Fear of the Future.  I framed the silhouette using Spellbinders 5 x 7 Heirloom Legacy and embellished it with Spellbinders A2 Scalloped Borders Two.

Card Making Ideas by Becca Feeken using Spellbinders Silhouette and Spellbinders 5x7 Heirloom Legacy (close up)

Instead of adding extra matting layers, I edged my pink panel with a Krylon Gold Pin  for contrast; I also edged inside the oval.  The border that I added along the bottom is a great stand in for lace.  How fun playing around with all these girly things!  I’m ready with my next wedding or prom card :-)

Card Making Ideas by Becca Feeken using Quietfire Calligraphic Love Bits and 2014 Spellbinders Labels Thirty Seven
Hi there friends, I have a card to share today and also as promised, a winner for the blog candy.  As I looked back though some of my old work when pulling together my “Best of” post, I lingered over some of the little twists and things I used to do when making cards.  I’ve always love framing stuff and setting a die in the middle as an island but occassionaly love using the negative and then setting the die in the middle as an island.  My card today is rather large at 6-3/4″ tall by 7-1/4″ high; but since custom envelopes are no problem with my envelope board – I’ll whip one right up.

The negative part of my frame is made using Spellbinders Labels Thirty Seven and embellished with Spellbinders Twisted Metal Tags and Accentsfurther accented by Spellbinders Foliage Flourish and Spellbinders Corner and Flourish.

Beautiful, the way that you combine dies and fold them inside eachother is just mind blowing. Creating so many more ways to use them. Once again I am left inspired, sometimes I know they are way beyond anything that I could do. But I love to see them

Congratulations to your winner. I am mailing candy out too! I just reached 200 followers…so exciting. This is lovely, and it was so nice to see you return to some of your earlier techniques. I loved the floating island with the twisted accent. I find that one a hard die to use a lot. It looks beautiful in your negative frame with all the pretty pink bows & flowers. A wonderful sentiment too. TFS, Hugs & Happy SundayReplyCancel
