Parisian Ensemble Card and Mini Blog Candy

Hi there friends.  Glad I had this ready to go because I made myself get out of the house today.  I look a drive several hours out of town and didn’t get home until late; too late to create.   I guess I live a sheltered life . . . in my drive home tonite, I took a wrong turn and ended up on a toll road.  How does that happen when you only have $2.00 cash on you?  I kept going because I thought, how much could the toll be?  Heck, I’ll give them my credit card if I don’t have enough.  Seriously, where I live we don’t really even have interstate, mostly highways, so I was a little bit shocked that there was a toll road!  Amazing, 50 yards before the booth, after the last possibility to turn around, they finally post the fare as $3.75!   What?  This road is in the middle of nowhere!  I pull up to the booth, chuckling, and tell the attendant I don’t have enough cash, I’ll have to give him my credit card.  No ma’am, we don’t take credit cards.  Cash or you can write a check (deadpan).  What?   Okay!  I guess I’ll just have to turn around and go back.  No ma’am, we can’t let you turn around.   I know for sure I’m in the twilight zone now – or perhaps Candid Camera.  I ended up having to turn over my drivers license so he could record it and have the guy come out and write down my license tag number.  I have 10 days to sent them the money . . . but . . . the notice ironically says, do not send cash!!  What a crazy day!

So, onto my card.   This is the second part of my ensemble using Spellbinders Parisian Accents and Parisian Motifs.   I love the lacey look  of the die template.  As you can see I used the same center piece as I did on the calendar yesterday.  For the underlying large piece from Parisian Motifs, I cut the center out with Spellbinders Standard Circles SM to provide some contrast behind the raised center.   The edge pieces are from Parisian Accents.

SUPPLIES I USED

Stamps: None
Paper
: Bazzill, The Paper Studio
Ink: None
Accessories:
Spellbinders Parisian Accents,
Spellbinders Parisian Motifs, Spellbinders Standard Circles SM, Pearls

Several of you were curious if I was able to find a winner for the last Double Play Blog Candy and I’m tickled to say that yes, I did.  I do however have one item I intended to be a part of the original blog candy and it didn’t even make it into the picture.  Everything has been sent out and since I didn’t picture it, I decided to offer it as mini-blog candy today.  (I’ll add some other things from my goodie box (where I collect things to offer as Blog Candy) to send with (wink)!

Just leave a comment on this post – you can do so each day until I close comments on Monday, January 24th.  In your comment chime in and tell me what craft items you tend to “collect”. ;-)  I’ll give the winner 48 hours to respond once their name has been picked. Thanks for staying with me all the way to the bottom of a looooong post!

I know I won that last blog candy, so I’ll exclude myself from this one…but I had to say your card is b-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l. And, your story was too funny – not for you at the time I’m sure – but, hopefully now. Here’s a ‘Jan’s Joy’ tip – carry a $20 stash with you at all times for emergencies! That’s what my Mother used to tell me – of course, it wasn’t $20 then…but you get the idea…LOL!
    Hugs,
    JanReplyCancel

Another beautiful card,Becca. I love how you make the dies come to life! :o)
I didn’t really think I “collected” any craft thing, until I was cleaning my craft area and organizing. It seems I like to collect punches. I have them everywhere. ;o)ReplyCancel

I am glad you got home safely! I have no sense of direction. My daughter and I laugh all the time when we get lost together because she doesn’t either! The next time you feel the urge to get out and drive…without a toll road (LOL) we are having a weekend crop in Scottsboro AL the weekend of April 1-3. I would love to have you attend with me! Hugs friend!ReplyCancel

Oh Goodie! Another chance for some candy! How sweet of you! If I would have to say one thing I collect (and there is a lot) I would have to say it’s paper. I’m just a paper junkie and have more than I could ever use in a life time – I’m sure of that. I just wonder what to do with it all.

Thanks for all your inspiring posts – I can always count on you to teach me something new.

    Thanks for all you do!ReplyCancel

As always, your card is elegant and most beautiful. Sorry to hear about your “little adventure” but it is a lesson to us all…. turn back before it’s too late :) I wish I had just one thing that I tend to collect but honestly, I collect knowledge or know-how. I want to know how to do “it”, try it and then move on to another challenge. Thank goodness there are so many in cardmaking!!! Thank you for the opportunity for some blogcandy.ReplyCancel

I love your card today, it’s so serene! Can’t believe how silly this toll road thing is, only taking cash and not letting you turn round? *shakeshead*
When it comes to craft supplies I tend to collect almost anything and everything… I guess ribbon though is my biggest downfall. I have so many I don’t even know how to store them all… *lol*

OMG I had to giggle at your little adventure. I am Directionally Challenged and often get lost but I always seem to find something interesting when I do. I’m sure the person at the toll booth was just following the rules but aren’t the rules so silly. Glad you made it home okay.
Although I’d love to have more Spellbinders dies and punches I really don‘t collect anything. I only buy what I love and know I’ll use repeatedly so I have a little of everything. I guess you could say I collect storage and organization items. LOL

Oh boy another amazing cretion with these awesome new dies. I just LOVE Spellbinders dies, so they´re some of those, that´s high on my wishlist together with great punches, especially since I got to know your blog and found all these awesome tutorials about, using punches different, so now I just can´t get enough of them he he he.
I´m sooo glad to hear, that you made it home safe afterall, but I agree, some times the things really seems a bit too weird to me too LOL. But good that you at least wasn´t all stucked out there in the middle of nowhere ha ha ha.

  • Barbara JayJanuary 21, 2011 - 5:36 am

The card is gorgeous as is all of your work. The toll road story is priceless!! Sorry but I laughed when I read it knowing it could have been me LOL I end up in predicaments like that all the time . Of course it was a full moon! Funny you are offering a punch as blog candy as punches and Spellbinder dies are my weakness. I won’t go to Michael’s if I am out of some little thing when I am short of money . I can’t be trusted in the Martha Stewart or punch aisle. I go to Hobby Lobby, they have very few punches. LOL I have to order my Spellbinders by mail so I can discipline myself a little better.ReplyCancel

  • AntonellaJanuary 21, 2011 - 5:40 am

Sounds like you had a fun day – where I live there are lots of tolls and depending on how far you travel on the toll road it can get quite expensive… The question really shouldn’t be what do I collect, perhaps it should be what don’t I collect – lol :-) I love paper and have a very difficult time walking away without paper.
Have a great – toll free – day!
    Hugs, Antonella :-)ReplyCancel

  • Kimmy K.January 21, 2011 - 5:47 am

Lovely card as usual! We don’t have any toll roads by us but we drive them to visit my parents. I am always tempted to not stop and see what happens but I know I never would ha ha ha. I collect border punches so actually this blog candy is perfect for me:) I have an iris cart full if them (and yet don’t have the one you posted up for grabs) hugs!ReplyCancel

  • lois skiathitisJanuary 21, 2011 - 5:48 am

Your card is beautiful Becca, the scrolls are very eye appealing especially the way you have them arranged. Your day was very interesting, sometimes the rules of the road don’t make sense.

I will be collecting punches, I’m a punch person. Paper of course and ribbon and buttons, yet I promised not to hoard much this year. If I purchase something I will have to use it or I can’t purchase something else unless I do.

    As always Becca, TFS!!! :-DReplyCancel

Oh, Becca, your card is so elegant looking.
Love the punch and thank U 4 giving us this opportunity of winning it.
Needless to say, from the looks of my carft room, I collect the Martha Stewart punches ( have over 30) as well as others.
I just have this thing for punches; so if I should happen to win, it would be a great additon, as I don’t have this one.

Gorgeous breath taking card, I love all the punched areas, funny story but I’m sure it wasn’t at the time, like you I most just have 1-2 dollars on me and rely on my debit card, this is a lesson, I’ll hde at least a 10 in my wallet now, never know when I’ll get lost. Such a beautiful card again Becca. I tend to collect Ribbon, Sometimes I still don’t have any in the colour I need to match my card! (either that or I can’t find that perfect ribbon I have stashed around here somewhere…. Sound familiar?)ReplyCancel

  • SophiaJanuary 21, 2011 - 6:05 am

Wow, I didn’t know they’d take anything but cash at a toll road! We’ve gotten stuck giving them lots and lots of change a time or two (which they really didn’t appreciate). I agree that in an age of debit cards, they should have some way of accepting one. I know there’s EZ Pass, but if you don’t travel toll roads constantly, it’s not really worth the investment … But I’m glad to hear things worked out for you!

As for the crafty items I tend to collect … For paper crafting, I collect patterned paper. I have enough of it to last me for several years even if I never buy another piece (which is very unlikely). For my sewing, I collect cotton and vintage sheets as an economical alternative to fabric yardage. Since I’m going to teach my Sunday school girls to sew (and most of it is coming out of my pocket), this is a great alternative!ReplyCancel

  • Gloria FlowersJanuary 21, 2011 - 6:08 am

Becca, I guess you can say things are really tough when even toll roads won’t take CASH. (it use to be the other way around – no checks or credit cards). Go figure. But I’m glad you made it home safe and I hope the mini adventure did what it needed to do for you. Thanks for the chance to win some blog candy.ReplyCancel

Great card! As always. You never fail with those gorgeous bows!
Sorry to hear about your toll-road adventure, hope it will turn out well!
Speaking of collecting things – I collect stamps. That is, I use them sooooo rarely, that I haven’t even used each one at least once. So it’s just a collection with no use.
I also collect buttons – always buy a few cute ones at the craft store. But as for the buttons – I do use them sometimes =)
    Have a good day!ReplyCancel

Good morning Becca! You need to get you some mini M&M’s and eat them. Then use the empty container to put quarters in. They hold almost $15 worth of quarters. Keep the quarters in your purse & you’ll always have $$$ for unexpected emergencies. I’m strange, I collect adhesives. I’m so afraid that I’ll run out while doing a project so I’m always buying scor tape, glue gun refills, etc.ReplyCancel

Times are rough, so just peeking in on others ideas and collecting moments of others beautiful creativity is what I do best right now. I tend to “collect” too much of everything crafty :-) but the thing I use most and in so many ways are punches, mostly edge punches. (And no, I’m not saying that just because the Blog candy is a punch) I cut thin slices of cardstock and paper and punch on both sides to get different designs. I use your angle cuts and love ‘around the page’. Thankfully, due to seeing the way you use crafting tools, I have the courage to use tools in ways different than the norm. Thank you for all you do each and every day on this site.ReplyCancel

WOW! Such beatiful cards! It’s frameable! Well I seem to “collect” everything already! My bigest goal this year is to start using it. But if I were to collect something-it would have to be some of those prety, intricate, ornate Spellbindes dies like you used in the card. I have some dies-but they’re shapes, nothing intricate like this. So that would be it@ Thanks!ReplyCancel

I just love the way you use your supplies. Give them more, dare I say the word, “mileage”. Punches, cuttlebug embossing folders/dies and spellbinders dies are what I am ‘driven’ to collect. However, my budget is more country road, than highway speed, so it takes a long time for me to ‘collect’ anything. The creative road is worth the drive though, and I would not get on the ‘off ramp’. It’s just too much fun, even if their are ‘tarifs’ along the way.
Thanks for the chance to win such a lovely surprise. Your card is beautiful!ReplyCancel

I enjoy your creations and the designs you come up with using the punches and labels dies.

My favorite item to collect…well, as I look around the obvious would be cardstock and DSP. But I really love to collect decorative punches. Never thought, I’d become a punch nut, but I did!

Sorry to hear about your little miss adventure. Those toll roads are tricky and just another way of states gaining extra revenue. Not sure where you live, but they are poping up all over here in California and as you know, our state is broke. Imagine that???
Your card is lovely. Really love the paper and of course that “to die for” die.
This year I will definitely be adding to my already extensive collection of Spellbinder dies. I have loved them since they originally came out and they have just gotten so creative in their desings over the past couple of years. I think there is a name for this – addiction comes to mind. Oh well, guilty as charged and loving it!!!!!

Hi Becca! What a story!! I can certainly relate to it – I can park my car in a parking lot and swear somebody has stolen it cuz I can’t find it when I come back out of the store! When I’m driving somewhere, I go left when I shoulda gone right. When I think I shoulda gone north, I shoulda gone south!! I went driving down a street one time and wondered “How come there are traffic lights showing for the opposite direction of traffic and not for the direction I’m going?” Oh, I see!!! I’m going down a one-way street . . . . the wrong way!! Oh my!! I VERY RARELY carry cash, either, so I’da been in trouble, too!!

Your card, as usual, is beautiful. Hope you’re doing better and better each day. Time does heal one’s heart, but the memories are what keep us going!!

Thanx for the blog candy opportunity, too!!

Hi Becca love your card and those Parisian dies as well cant wait till they hit OZ.
Where do I start with my collections. One could say I’m addicted to Craft Magazines , it use to be cross stitch then quilting. Now its papercrafts and Parchment craft. Then there is my cuttlebug and all dies and embossing folders I can use with it. Lets not forget paper, paper and more paper, a crafter can’t have too much paper. And thats just for the craft side of things. We have a 4 bedroom house and I think I’ve taken over most of it. Maybe in a few years I can expand out into the granny flat (currently occupied) which would be heaven. Already planning where things are going (I know don’t count your chickens before they hatch)ReplyCancel

I can so relate with your toll booth story! When I was driving back & forth to go to school, I traveled the OH turnpike. Well when it came time to get off near school, I could not find my wallet & I had to write a check for less then $2.00, I felt like a nut!!

  • Margaret PeltierJanuary 21, 2011 - 8:25 am

Your project is stunning as usual!! :) Your travel story was amusing! Last year I drove to NC – got off the GW bridge in NY going onto the NJ turnpike and was driving along with the Tracker Trailors ( they don’t scare me) I was speeding along with them – when entering the turnpike when I realized that I was in the Easy pass lane right along with them and didn’t pull a ticket! UMMM what to do – you can’t turn back to get one – – and no one came after me so I kept moving along with the traffic – was going the whole length of the turnpike so figured they would just charge me the total amount – pulled up to the booth and giggling explained to the guy that I was in the wrong lane and couldn’t grab a ticket but went the whole length of the road – so what do I owe? He states $50.00 – I go ok and reached for the $$$ – it sounded like a lot but I figured there was probably a fine for not pulling a ticket – I go to hand him the money and he states – Just kidding it is only $16.75 for the whole run of the turnpike………we giggled for days and upon the return home I made sure to pay attention to the signs so I could pull a ticket! I have so many stories of that trip – it makes life fun to have some silly memories! As far as “collecting” crafting goodies – basically it comes down to as much as I can – I LOVE decorative papers – but I have to admit I have been very good recently in not buying any and trying to use what I have – made 5 file port folios last weekend and I am proud to say that I used up some of my SU paper that I have been hoarding! I am trying to hold out on buying any more Nesties until the new ones are released!!! I am trying but it is not easy – I swear they are calling my name…………..ReplyCancel

That story is crazy, girl!! I have somewhat of a similar one…three days ago I went to the bank, parked in the lot, put my lot ticket in my purse so I could get it validated for free parking. When I got downstairs to the bank, the parking lot ticket was gone. The bank still gave me a validated ticket but the teller said they would charge me for a whole day. UGH! I looked for my ticket all the way back up to my car…no deal. I went to the toll booth and she said, “Hello, how are you?”
“Not so good, I lost my ticket.”
“I’ll have to charge you for a lost ticket, $16”
    “$16? I was there for 20 minutes!!!” (Clealy, she didn’t care…)
“Oh, with your validation, it’s only $12.”

    UGH…$12 for 20 minutes of parking…jeeez

  • Anne ( Midlands UK)January 21, 2011 - 9:04 am

Hello Becca another gorgeous card. What a time you had on the Toll road, brought back memories of the day my mum set off for home after staying with me. She had driven here ( about a 3hour drive on a busy motorway) she was taking my Auntie back with her. Got on the motorway but didn’t branch off when she should, tavelled a long way hoping to see a turn off that she might recognise. Ended up on a Toll road not far from our house, it had taken her nearly 3 hours. She had to stay another night.
One of the things I collect are ribbons I have lots and lots. AnneReplyCancel

  • ChaunJanuary 21, 2011 - 9:05 am

So glad you got out of the house! And now you have a great “troll at the toll booth” story to tell! Sometimes life is unbelievable. Oh well, I always say, “If that’s the worst thing that ever happens to you, you can consider yourself lucky!”ReplyCancel

  • Nadine BaileyJanuary 21, 2011 - 9:05 am

    Good Morning,
I love the lacieness of the cards and I enjoy pearls and BLING!. I have only been making cards for a couple of years so I really don’t have a ton of any one thing. I am still building the basics you see. I beg and borrow the spellbinder dies and the rubber stamps from friends who live near me. I guess I am collecting images of cards that evoke a response of appreciation when I see them. Someday, I will try to make each of them or do one similar to the image I have.

Gorgeous cards you make and I enjoy reading your blog items about your experiences.ReplyCancel

  • Kay MJanuary 21, 2011 - 9:05 am

Loved reading your story about the toll road!! Sounds like my luck! I really didn’t start making cards in earnest until about 4 years ago. NOW…everytime I go somewhere, I have to hit the “stamping” aisle. I love punches, paper, pearls, ribbon, my nestabilities…you name it!! I ABSOLUTELY LOVE looking at your cards. You rock, girl!!! Have a great day!ReplyCancel

  • MarianJanuary 21, 2011 - 9:10 am

LOVE your card, and that’s terrible about the toll road. Unfortunately society now has us cashless, so in the times when we need it, there is none handy! How awful of them not to let you through…or back.
I have only been on toll roads when I went to Chicago, and there weren’t THAT expensive! There are none of them where I live in Canada…yet!

I tend to collect EVERYTHING…it’s unreal how addicted I have become to anything for paper crafts…I treat paper like fabric because I quilt too…lol.
I have enough to hold classes of my own…as a matter of fact I have some friends coming over this weekend to do card making and quilt. My friend and I both have Cricuts and we intend to “play” with them. There again…I have quite a collection of cartridges with no time to use them!

    PS…I LOVE that punch!!!ReplyCancel

  • Monica LoreJanuary 21, 2011 - 9:10 am

I have to say, I am a big fan of yours, Becca – you inspire me to be creative and think outside the box for uses of punches and dies. You are my favourite Paper Engineer!
I am grateful everyday for your sharing of your art.ReplyCancel

  • Bonnie PetersJanuary 21, 2011 - 9:12 am

Just so happens that I love punches, punches and more punches. Only wish there was an easy way to store so I could access them easier (use tubs now and I get tired of digging for the one I want). Can’t use anything on the walls – I use part of an extra bedrm as craft room. Love your new website and ALL your beautiful creations (masterpieces)!!ReplyCancel

Hi Becca; It may have been frustrating for you but I chuckled at your toll booth story . Sounds so like something that I would do !
I love your projects – and your tutorials are so easy to follow.
I “collect” punches and fancy papers – I use all my punches, and hopefully I can get courage enough some day to – ( oh Horrors !! ) – cut and use some of my “treasured” papers.ReplyCancel

As for what is on my “collection” list – Spellbinders!! Unfortunately there’s too much list left at the end of the budget money!!
Thanks for such an inspirational card – I think Parisian is at the top of my list now.ReplyCancel

Becca- your story about the toll road was so funny. Suggestion for the future-tuck a $5.00 bill in your car, in the glove box or under the floor mat. It’s only for emergencies like this and no, Starbuck’s isn’t an emergency-LOL.
This card is gorgeous and I have put these dies on my wish list! ZYou are an enabler-haha.

I think I collect it all–but my favorites to collect are chicken/rooster stamps. I have all kinds and shapes. Whenever I see one, I have to have it. Sad to say most of remained uninked. Thanks for the chance to win.

I hate toll roads–in IL if you do not have the I-Pass device, then the tolls are doubled. Around Chicago there are toll roads everywhere, the toll booths all create back-ups! Don’t get me started.ReplyCancel

    Hi Becca,

As always, I love your card. A nice way to do it differently with the sentiment on the inside instead. I love those new Spellbinders dies. Gosh, I wish I could collect ALL of them. Each one is so beautiful.

I have a LOT of these dies but not all. I tend to collect them and, then, have trouble picking just one or two to use on a card. Decisions, decisions! ha ha

If I had your talent, I would have a lot more options. Sadly mine pale by comparison. I just love seeing your creations.

Keep up the good work, my girl. I had a chuckle over your toll booth fiasco. Ain’t it the truth. Just when you think you’ve had it all, boom. Nevermind, onward and forward, eh?

    Take care. Lovingly, Sue xoReplyCancel

I know how you feel about the toll road. My husband’s family lives in Kentucky and they have them all over. However, theirs are usually $1.00 or less. We don’t have toll roads in Nebraska, so it was always a surprise when we came to one.
I seem to collect paper the most. Then it seems stickers.ReplyCancel

The only thing I see wrong is the looonnnggg wait we have to get these lovely dies…March? I will be doing spring cleaning, etc. and getting the yards ready for all God’s beauties…grrr, no time to play. We have to come up with a way for Spellbinder dies to be ready for release the day of the show…LOL.

I love your card today, the spellbinder Parisian Motif is great and very versatile or at least you make it that way. Thanks for sharing, I need to get that set. The situation you had last evening in your care – some times I think people need to give mercy and be helpful the problem is too many people abuse that and it becomes a problem for those who are really in deep distress and have a lot of problems. Well put the check in the mail and forget it. It is one of those things you have to come across every so often (smile).

What do I tend to collect – stamps – I have way too many of them and the majority I have not used, it seems I just have to have it and I buy it and then I do not use it or will use it “some day” or at least hope I will LOL.

I hope your day is wonderful

I forgot to say what I collect…hmmmm, as a teacher for cardmaking and never able to hold to one concept, I have collected most everything as the students wanted every kind of lesson. I started with parchment cards but have tried all kinds since. I have given away or sold as much as I own now…55 drawers and three huge cabinet bases filled with many cubes on top with paper and cardstock. I am suppose to be downsizing but I do get carried away when I see work like yours, Becca. What is an old lady to do with such an addiciton?…LOL

Becca – Wonder Woman of Crafting. Love your card and for being so generous in offering Blog Candy. Love the Lacy Look – I wish I had crafting friends that would send me cards as beautiful as this. For as much “stuff” as I have, I need not collect anything. I need to start using all of the items I have purchased – especially paper. However, I was watching HSN last night and Ann Griffen was on with her beautiful victorian paper and 3D flower for cards. Fell in love so I guess I will add Ann Griffen to my “Collection” (LOL) In the last year I have added Our Daily Bread and Justrite Stampers. – running out of storage space!

Beautiful project. I love these dies, they are so delicate. I totally understand your dilemma with the toll road and anxiously waiting to find out if you’ve got enough cash on you to pay. As far as craft items I collect, I can’t seem to have enough ribbon. I’ve got 2 under the bed boxes, one drawer in my craft room, 2 Martha Stewart ribbon boxes, and a smaller plastic tote all full of ribbon. Thanks for the chance to win that beautiful punch.ReplyCancel

What a funny story! It really does sound like something from “Candid Camera”! I tend to collect buttons – I just love them! However, I don’t use them very often on my cards. I think they look better if they haved thread through them. ( A naked button just looks like it’s missing something! ) Since I don’t want to take the time to put the thread in it, I just do’t use it. I have lots of them – I really should try to use them more often.ReplyCancel

I too am glad you made it back home! I can appreciate your desire to go for a ride if it wasn’t for all the road congestion in my area (even at night!) I’d do it as well. As for my collection, it seems to be DSP. I have TOOO! much of it and every time a manufacturer comes out with a new collection I’m first in line! I sure I can stop at any time if I wanted to, yeah right!ReplyCancel

Glad that you said “items” and not one “item”! I tend to collect stamps, inks, paper (particularly the 6″ designer pads), and Spellbinder dies. I had to laugh at your toll-booth story. It reminded me so much of the experience we had on our honeymoon (27 yrs ago). In all the planning for our wedding we had not picked up any US cash — we flew into Miami, grabbed our rental car and headed out of the airport. First thing we hit was a toll booth and of course we couldn’t pay with our Cdn money. So we had to sign a note saying that we would remit the fee within 10 days (they even gave us an envelope) — for a grand total of 25 cents!! We still laugh about that today. Then our next challenge was to find a place to change our travellers’ cheques/cash — but that is another long story!ReplyCancel

    Good Morning Becca!!!!!! :)
Well, what I don’t understand, is WHY they wouldn’t let you turn around?????? Kinda sounds like a “police state”!!!!!!!!!!! It just DOESN’T make sense!!!!!!!!! No money, you COULD HAVE turned around before…..INSANE!!!!!!!!!!!

What do I collect??? Right now, I’m working on getting FELT!!! Different colors! NOT for a paper crafting project, BUT it could be used for Paper crafting!!!!!!!!!! (Embellies….) I saw some FELT COOKIES on a blog!!! They were SOOOO CUTE!!!! I’d like to try them!!!! They were for Valentines!!! SWEET! SWEET! AND ZERO CALORIES!!!! LOLReplyCancel

I just love your card. Your experience at the toll booth was hilarious. It reminded me of an old “I Love Lucy” episode. I am so glad I live in a state that doesn’t have toll roads, but I guess they get us on our taxes anyway. As for what kinds of craft items I collect, well, let’s just say I need a separate room just for my punches.ReplyCancel

Well, after spending MANY hours cleaning out my overflow craft stash in my spare bedroom walk-in so that our DD can move back in with us next week, I’m well aware I’ve honestly earned my nickname from my craft friends, “Paper Ho” (for Paper Hoarder, of course)!!! YIKES, I have paper from sooo many years ago, it’s embarrassing, and with so much of it I just wanted to never run out, so I never used it — how silly is that?!!!ReplyCancel

Another snazzy card – super lovely. I can’t wait to get my sticky hands on these dies. They are gorgeous.

I guess there is one positive element to your unfortunate rendezvous with the toll police. We can rejoice in the common sense that usually prevails in our daily lives. Hallelujah these incidents are few and far between.

As far as what I collect – It might sound a little hokey – but I collect ideas. Happily, your site is a rich diamond mine stuffed full of them and I am grateful to you.

Becca, I love your work and it has inspired me to be more creative with my cards. Recently I have been collecting Spellbinders dies and Magnolia stamps. Before that I was collecting cardstock, but I have come to realize that I need to collect groups of papers that work together instead of “one offs” that I like but can’t seem to figure out when to use.

Keep up your amazing cards and blogging!!

Lovely card, as always. Your toll road story is so right on the mark. It’s amazing what nonsense gets into our lives. You know it took longer than the toll was worth to take down your drivers license and license plate info.

Looking at my crafting area, I guess I’m collecting designer paper right now. I have a bunch, and it’s all too pretty to use! I have to start sharing it, not keep it all to myself.

Becca, Firstly: Love the card. As always, it’s gorgeous. What more can I say about it????! Thanks for sharing. Secondly: I must have been on the same toll road! We were on one in Tampa -taking a wrong turn – and the toll was 25 cents, and we only had a very large bill with us-no change(I had taken our little ‘change bag’ out of the console while cleaning the car & I had no wallet with me as this was an early morning run to deliver someone to the Tampa airport. Hubby only had his D/L plus a large bill – just in case of emergency . No attendant, so no way was I going to leave a large bill for a 25 cent toll. When we got home, I called, thinking that I’d be told to just forget it, since at least I ‘tried’ to be honest. Wrong! I was told to send a check for 25cent; the postage plus the cost of writing the check was much more than the toll! Life is strange! Have a great day, and I’m glad you got out of the house for some time to yourself.ReplyCancel

I woke up this morning from a deep dream wherein I was successfully cutting die after die of Spellbinder patterns. I have always stayed away from them out of fear that I could not do them properly. I stumbled upon your blog and was fascinated by the creations before me. The beauty of each one is mesmerizing (to the point of dictating my dreams!) After searching out a tutorial on Nestabilities, I think I can do this! I just bought a Justrite stamp set and cannot wait to learn how to “nest” the sentiments with BOWS which I also learned from your tutorial. Thank you for the inspiration. Yet another beautiful creation, I love that nestability, really beautiful!
I really laughed when I read what happened to you, sorry! but every time my sister and I go out in the car we chat so much we always get lost….sometimes we even forget where we were meant to be going (it’s an age thing!) but we just laugh about it. Here in the U.K. we don’t have many toll booths as such but we do have lots of traffic wardens who just love to book you if you park in the wrong place or stay in the parking place five minutes after your time is up (that usually happens after you have stood for ages waiting to be served in the craft shop!)…nobody likes the Traffic Wardens LOL!
I collect lots and lots of things for my craft work, at the moment it is paper, paper and more paper…well, you have to use your punches on something don’t you? LOL

    Take care LOL EileenReplyCancel

Outstanding card, Becca! I love the new Spellbinders dies and what you do with them! The ribbon through the diecut is so elegant looking! Here in Alaska we don’t have toll roads, so sometimes we’ve run into them when we’re on vacation–but I don’t think we’ve ever been on one that was $3.75–that’s a bit much! I’m starting to have quite a collection of the Spellbinders dies, but I do use them a lot! Your cards make it pretty hard to resist and the latest release is just outstanding!ReplyCancel

Those Parisian Spellbinders are my absolute favourite and I cannot wait to get my hands on these! You have such a knack when combining and layering. With your help I will get there some day.
My favourite things to collect are paper, craft punches and of course Spellbinders. I am addicted to all of these!

Ohmy gosh Becca! That was quite an excursion! It’s so funny that they won’t let you send cash. But that’s the post office. They don’t like to think of cash floating around in their hands :-) I am glad to hear that you got out and saw the countryside though. I’d really love to do that too. I’m stuck in the house most days and nights. So going out or a drive would be wondrful.
What do I like to collect, well it used to be tools. But now that I have my cricut, the only ones I want are spellbinders dies and Just Rite stamps. Beyond that…Paper Paper Paper! It seems I can’t go into a store for anything, and I end up with paper too!
    What about you?
Hugs, and next time, take some cash! lolReplyCancel

Hello Becca, Sorry to hear you had such an awful time in your travels, I am glad it all worked out in the long run. We don’t have any toll roads in our area but I am sure I would not have much cash on hand either, or maybe they would have got 3.75 in change.
I tend to collect things like punches, spellbinders dies, inks and now some stamps. I love all there is about stamping and cardmaking so I could be a collecter of several things.
I love the card you made today. I am hoping to buy more spellbinders dies, they really do dress up a card. You are very creative, and have an elegant touch to your cards.

Aww Becca, your story about the tolls is so funny! We’ve done worse, we’ve gotten into the lane that automatically charges you by some electronic counter on the car. We were worried we’d get some big charge, but I guess when they saw it was a rental car, they knew we were lost and didn’t charge us. We don’t have tolls here at the moment but they are coming to pay for the new bridge we’re getting.

Send them a lovely card, Becca. I love your current one.ReplyCancel

I’ve always wondered what they do to/with folks that don’t have the money for tolls. Thanks for the info. Sorry for your day but you’ve got to admit it was something different and thank God you’re not in jail! This card is as beautiful as all others you make. I’m going to try to remember to punch background areas out for contrast such as you’ve done here and on some previous cards. It’s such a simple thing to do and makes such a vast difference, and, again, something I wouldn’t think of doing without being shown. Your sharing is much appreciated.
I have enough things I ‘collect’ that I can senter a new one every day for a while, lol. The latest is Martha Stewart’s around-the-page and border punches. My husband says my storage display looks like a graveyard…full of tombstones.ReplyCancel

    Hi Becca,
I am new here and hope my post goes through. I love your website and found it quite by accident. I look forward to reading it every day for inspiration. I am really appreciating the border punches lately. I like the EK Success ones because they store somewhat flat. They have helped me create cute cards and mini albums when I don’t have a lot of time! They allow me to feel a little more creative. Your story of getting caught on a toll road sounds scary but one to laugh at later. That would be me. I NEVER carry cash. In my area of CA, they have something called Fastrack that you can use instead of cash. It is a device that goes on your windshield and has a prepaid $$ amount on it. I knew having one would save me a lot of embarrassment!!

I’m another one who collects punches. The trouble is they keep improving them and creating new ideas. When I look at the original, small, plain shapes (that now never get used) and compare them to the new exciting borders and trims, I wonder how I ever thought those first punches were something special. Makes you wonder what the future holds.
I also collect mystery tools. I open a drawer and think “now what was that for” and “did I ever use that”. Always love to use whatever the latest tool is – very naughty. Must try and re-invent the old (or throw it out to make room for the new!).ReplyCancel

OH Becca! This post has been side splitting not only with your story, which incidently many of us have had the same type of experience including me, but I have been reading most of the others and they are all just a hoot! Even though I have a GPS I tend to think I can get to where I am going without using it – usually I am quite wrong lol. Eventually I end up turning on “Mabel” and she gets me home, but whew, have I ever ended up in some strange situations because of it. But each situation leads to being stronger in yet another area, and indeed puts another smile on my face at some point down the line ;) What is life if we don’t have an adventure, especially for those of us who tend to be homebodies far to often (I don’t like winter at all and since I left FL 12 years ago, winter is a disaster so I just stay home). Glad your adventure ended safely and with a smile, even a piece of paper that you could copy and make a scrapbook page of (I did that with a parking ticket we got when we went to Paris and parked in the wrong area for too long LOL) Life is full of fun if we look for it. If you ever get lost up north near KY, give me a call, I’ll try and find you and we’ll continue on a crazy journey together to either my place or yours ;) Blessings!ReplyCancel

I find that I can get away with less color selection in papers, and purchased embellishments if I can add detail with the punches and dies. Even a one color card, can be beautiful with a little help from a different shape or edge detail. I love love love your work. Thanks for sharing so much with us. KathleenReplyCancel

    Oh, Becca,
That was a real “Twilight Zone” experience. I’ve always wondered what would happen if that ever happened to me. I try to avoid toll roads, but you were caught by surprise.

The better question might be what DON’T I collect! I’m a stamper (so you know I collect them.) I love punches, and they seem to just get better and better! Of course, now I collect dies and mbossing folders. And stickers, papers, markers, paints…I could go on!

I love your blog and your exquisite work! Thank you for sharing all you do…even your misadventures on the road!ReplyCancel

    Dear Becca,
Well, I just now got caught up with your blog from last year….and may I offer you my prayers and love both to you and your whole family. I’ll be praying for you now, and will continue to do so because I know sometimes when you loose someone you love, who loved you, you miss them at the most unusual times.
I wish I could give you a huge hug, and to be there to offer you help and encouragement. So many things go through our heads when we want to bring some sort of peace to someone, but the Comforter of the Universe is your Rock right now. No one can take that place, and that’s Who I will pray will comfort and lead you now.
Know too that joy comes in the morning, even though sometimes the night seems long…..
    Much love in Christ, DoniReplyCancel

Oh Becca. What a day you had! Sorry to hear that you got yourself turned around while out driving. I hope that the scenery was at least worth the extra trouble.

As as always your card is gorgeous. Who wouldn’t love the lacey look of Spellbinders Perisian Dies? You always do such an amazing job of showcasing the dies.

I think the thing that I tend to collect the most (scrapbooking wise) would have to be paper. I seem to always feel that I need more even though I have a HUGE pile already.

Thank you for the chance to win you mini blog candy. Glad to hear that you finally found your winner from last time around. I missed the last word of the week. I was so close but so far. lol

What a crazy toll road story, I feel for you! Boy they’re not going to lose that $3.75 are they, aha? Another lovely card, Becca! In the past, I have tended to collect stamps, but now, after learning of them right here on your blog, I tend to collect Spellbinders. And, that is quite the financial investment, too. lolReplyCancel

Your project today is gorgeous, as is all of your new creations with the new spellbinders dies. I can’t wait to place an order for my faves, which is quite a long list!
God Bless you for offering the sweet blog candy, and for being you!

That may have worked – too beautiful to make you turn over your driver’s license. You never know….especially if Mr. Funk was the one at your booth, lol.ReplyCancel

They find their way onto every card I make! Just when I think that I have enough, they come up with more that I just have to buy! I also love Crafty Secrets items and the stamps from Our Daily Bread! You are responsible for introducing us to so many of our favorite craft items. You always inspire us–creatively and spiritually. Bless you.ReplyCancel

Beautiful card as usual. The things you do with those Spellbinders!!! Loved your story. We have one toll road here in Atlanta. Thank God it isn’t near my house. I know I would find myself on it more times than I need to be there. LOL I never carry cash…always use my credit card. I don’t get out much where I am driving places I don’t know. I can get so turned around. LOL

You know Becca I really shouldn’t follow your blog, I get into so much trouble. I always try to keep down the number of new release dies I am going to get and then I will come to your blog and see something you did and a die I wasn’t going to get I suddenly need to have. What I love to collect, It would probably easier to say what I don’t love to collect. There are some basics I collect all the time like dies, but then there are those that depend on what has caught my eye at the moment. The one free thing that I am caught up in is recycling. I am constantly looking for something I can use to craft with instead of just throwing it away. Thanks for a chance to win a new punch!ReplyCancel

Your card is beautiful {sigh}. I am most definitely a paper collector. I have also started to collect spellbinders dies and the more I see these Parisian sets, the more I think they’re going on the wish list. Years ago I worked in a bank, so I didn’t always carry much cash, since I was at the cash place most every day. My Dad gave me a stern lecture (they were rare as a child and even more so as an adult) about hiding $10 in my wallet “just in case”. To this day I ALWAYS have that spare bit of cash tucked away, especially now that he’s gone and he can’t come rescue me.ReplyCancel

    Becca,
Loved the journal! Wish I could find some like yours, blank inside. I just mailed off a journal for a friend of mine, She specifically requested on made by me for her birthday and I couldn’t refuse. She keeps me crafting even when I think i can’t. It was a way to get back into the swing of things after the loss of my mother this past year. It seems that I have found art projects to get me through my grief after the deaths of my parents. For my dad it was painting the walls of our local library with a cute little mural. that one I really needed, it was so therapudic and I was so grateful that I was selected to do the art work. It got me through a very tough time in my life. I’m so glad that I am able to do creative things, it really is good for the soul. ~Gin~ReplyCancel

My next favorite thing to collect are papercrafting and stamping magazines. Knowledge is power and sometimes I get a magazine with 20 things I love in it and sometimes only one but it is worth the same as the one that had 20. I love to see wonderful new ways to fold paper, and create special effects with ink and other household items. Sometimes I just love to look at the pictures to enjoy a wonderful hobby that so many others enjoy as much as I do. LOL KathleenReplyCancel

Oh my, Miss Becca! What an adventure on the toll road! Don’t forget to get that check in the mail!
What do I “need”? Punches! I LOVE punches and have a hard time resisting them, so you blog candy is perfect as far as I’m concerned. I don’t have this one and I would be so grateful to win it! Thanks for the chance.

Stunning! Your work is amazing! I found you on the spellbindersblog hop and immediately subscribed and I’m so happy I did!
As for collecting, that’s one of my best things! Not so great at using all the stuff I collect, but maybe this year will be better! LOL. The new spellbinders releases are very high on my list. Loved them all!
Thank you for the chance to win!

  • DebraKJanuary 22, 2011 - 10:51 am

You’re lucky you didn’t come upon one of those unmanned tolls, which are plenty in Florida, especially in the Orlando area. I ran a toll in Chicago once and felt guilty for months–not on purpose mind you, but I was following a friend and they were getting too far ahead of me and I hadn’t a clue where I was going.
So, another item I have lots of are markers–mostly PrismaColor, but also Copic, BlickStudio, Bic Mark-It, and Sharpie. I love to have all variations of colors so brand name is not always important to me.
    Have a great weekend, Becca!ReplyCancel

  • DebiJanuary 22, 2011 - 11:04 am

I am a “collectaholic”! (Is that even a word?) I find myself collecting a little bit of everything. Like so many ahead of me have said, I LOOOOVE paper!! I just love to look at and admire all the different papers and have to make myself use them because I don’t want to cut them up. I know that’s probably crazy. I wonder if there’s a term in the psychiatric world for that?? LOL!!! Anyway, thank you for your beautiful creations and an opportunity to win the blog candy. Love and prayers, DebiReplyCancel

Hi Becca, hope you’re having a good weekend. Besides my DP addiction, I’m finding that I’m collecting Waltzingmouse Stamps stamps. I don’t have all the sets yet, but I could probably make an argument for having each one. Sigh.ReplyCancel

Wow what a beautiful card and a great story. I always wondered what would happen if I didn’t have enough money for tolls. Dear Becca,
Here’s what I did a long time ago…in case of an emergency(a flat tire, a needed cab etc.)I folded a $20 bill and stashed it in my wallet where I never see it so then I never think to spend it foolishly…no matter what…
Your cards are always so chic and elegant…I love to collect papers and lots of punches that add ”that little something”…I love this punch…thank you for the chance to win…

  • ColoradoJanuary 22, 2011 - 1:19 pm

I have to laugh when you ask what do I collect!!! It would be so much easier to say what I don’t collect. I guess I have two real biggies… the first being Martha Stewart punches along with other brands of punches… but I’m always watching Michaels to see when a new batch of Martha punches comes in. I just used a bunch of 50% off coupons to get several of the new Valentine MS punches so now will be keeping an eye out to see if there are new spring punches coming next.

And the second biggie is Spellbinder dies. I don’t know how many sets of those I have… it would probably scare me if I actually counted! And I can’t stop wanting new ones as they come out. I really like some of the new ones being introduced at CHA this month… can’t wait to get them. And there’s still some from the last release I haven’t been able to get so still hoping to find those, too.

I collect other craft items, too… but I’ll save some for tomorrow’s comment.ReplyCancel

I moved yet to another country….move nr 22. The one thing what drives me insane is the fact of not having access to my art supplies! After so many moves I decided not to have a shipment and came here with just a suitcase. What keeps me going is to visit your blog and resently I spent a couple of days revisiting all your postings. Something what keeps my sanity. I love the spellbinders dies, I have bought several and as of yet have not used any. Ribbons is a must have it makes the finishing touch! Thanks for your great inspiration my wishlist is growing by the day.ReplyCancel

Oh, Becca ! Your plight on the toll road had me humming the old Kingston Trio song about Charlie on the MTA ! We were just on the IN toll road last night and since we don’t have an “Izoom” pass, we had to fight with a toll booth machine (no real person) which didn’t want to take our ticket!! What have we done to ourselves ! I’m glad you made it home and not still driving around and around on the toll road!

I have my stamping materials and my fabric in the same craft room and I tend to collect fabric just like I collect paper – and I hoard them both. They are all so pretty and I really need to push myself to use what I have.

Thanks for another opportunity to win something.

    Hi Becca,
I had to laugh at your toll booth experience because we don’t have toll booths in this area and when my husband went on a business trip and I tagged along I got on a toll road and was scrambling around thru everything to come up with the change needed! I still don’t know how I got on that road. Thanks for the offer of MORE blog candy!! I hope to acquire the new Spellbinder dies, some Martha Stewart punch around the page, some of the JustRite cling stamps and also some of their matching dies.ReplyCancel

I love the whole idea of your gratitude journal and the design – gorgeous! I went ahead and preordered the two Parisian sets I’ve been drooling over and I can’t wait until they actually ship. My daughter has asked me to make a variety of cards and a display for them for a silent auction for charity in April, so I’ll have plenty of time to use my new goodies when they come. Blessings to you for all you do and share.ReplyCancel

Becca, this ensemble is gorgeous! The gratitude journal is a neat idea, because we often don’t stop and take time to think about all the things we have to be thankful for in our day. The Parisian dies are fast turning into a “must-have” when I see all the beautiful things you are doing with them.
I think another thing I tend to collect is ribbon. I have boxes of it, but keep finding more that I think I “need”. I try to use it in my card making, but I will have to make an awful lot of cards to ever use up all the ribbon I have. LOL!ReplyCancel

    Hi Becca

thanks for the chance to win this sweet punch. I love it and am sure that it will be stunning on any card.

The item I tend to collect is foam pads. I can buy loads from the £1 shop – and tent to buy these instead of the expensive craft shop bought ones. Each time I go in, I buy more as its something I’d hate to run out of. So my answer might be bizzare, but I should never run out LOL!!!

I noticed it at the store the other day but turned it down because I spend way too much money for my stamping supplies and haven’t used half of them. My resolution for this year is to get movin’ and use all those supplies. Not an easy task for me. Thanks to win this punch which is lovely. I use border punches more than any other kind of punch because it really does add “punch” to my cards. Enjoy creating!

Becca – I had to laugh at your story of the toll booth. My boss had a similar situation recently when he traveled to the East Coast. Also didn’t have cash and they wouldn’t take credit card, so as soon as he got back to work he sent it off so he wouldn’t “get in trouble”. Gotta laugh (after the fact) at those little bumps in life. Now – what do I collect – omg, what don’t I collect. I could open a glitter store, stamp store, glue store, paper store, ribbon, etc. They are all special and I tend to think if I use the last of it I won’t be able to find it again. Of course, I just have to remind myself that I will just have to get something different…and it might even be better…ReplyCancel

I collect designer paper, You do need to have quite a stash if you make cards and scrap, but the more you have the more you need to keep track of it, so you often don’t end up using the most inspiring pieces anyway! I also collect blogs on my Google Reader, which is sometimes detrimental, as I tend to read them when perhaps I should be creating (or cleaning toilets, etc.!), but I also find sooo many lovely, inspiring ideas and people, that it’s hard not to “collect” more!!!ReplyCancel

  • AnneJanuary 23, 2011 - 7:56 am

Another confession! Ribbon! I was in Costco yesterday and they had the new spring collection of wide, wire edged ribbon. I got carried away as it was so inexpensive and bought a dozen reels. With 50 yards on a reel, I have 600 yards of ribbon. And I didn’t buy every design and woke up dreaming of the black and white check one!

    I have a very patient husband :o)

Thanks for the opportunity to win blog candy.. :)
I tend to collect lots of card adornments…ribbon, charms, bling etc….I have a plastic shoebox chock full of the little things, and five ribbon dispensers full of ribbon that fits in them and a shoe box with the ribbon that doesn’t.

I thank God that I have a husband who indulges me for my “collecting”.ReplyCancel

Your card is really awesome hun. I really loves this set, and would order it right away, if it was just possible. But I guess, I have to wait like everybody else. Gosh you´re lucky, that you get the chance to play with them soo long before the rest of us ha ha ha.
I admit, that I´m pretty addicted to cerrtain things like Spellbinder dies, MS punches, beautiful paper and gorgeous ribbons. I think, these are my biggest addictions he he he, but I ofcause also just loves cutie stamps like MAgnoliastamps and LOTV stamps and Just Rite stamps and a lot more ha ha ha ha, and I have a feeling, we like pretty much the same things, as I can find sooo much inspiration for just these things here on your blog always??? ha ha ha

Hi Becca! I also collect blogs. I usually look at all the blogs that are linked at your site. When I find someone that thinks like I do, I look at the blogs they follow. It feels like traveling around the world! I sometimes end up in Germany or Australia! One never knows what beautiful cards and gifts may be on someones blog. I collect paper scraps. I simply cannot throw out (or even recycle) paper scraps, whether it be cardstock or decorative scrapbook papers. My stamping buddies save their scraps for me too! So, I need some ideas for ways to use skinny strips of papers, and other scraps. I can’t just keep collecting them and not making anything with them! Help! I’m drowning in paper scraps!ReplyCancel

Here is my Sunday entry: In addition to ribbon and my chicken stamp collection, next on the list of things I tend to hoard is SU stamp sets. Most people tend to sell their retired sets–well I just can’t seem to get rid of them. My feeling is that if I liked them well enough to buy them in the first place, well I still love them now. Sorry to say this is not a good plan as I am running out of room. Thankfully their new clear stamps take up much less room. I will not buy wooden sets again. If I have one stamp, I must have a thousand, much to my DH’s dismay! But how can one be a stamper without seeing a use and need for each image?! Of course, there are many I haven’t put to ink yet because I no longer can think of a purpose to apply them or another stamp fits the bill more appropriately. But the day will come when I see that someone else has created just what I need to CASE!

Well, besides the punches and Spellbinders dies that I mentioned the other day, I also collect stamps (both wood mounted and clear). I already have more than I’ll probably ever use, but I keep on adding to the collection… it truly is an addiction! And, of course we have to collect paper! LOL!! I have to have a good supply of that so that it’s possibly to have just the right paper for the next creation since I never know just what that might end up being.

Oh and just wanted you to know that I don’t have this particular punch that you are giving… if I did I wouldn’t leave comments as I would want it to go to someone else. (Not that I will win! Hi Becca, I love your toll story. I have one to share. On a recent holiday in Florida I came across my first toll. Not paying attention to the overhead signs I simply drove up to the nearest booth. Much to my surprise there was no person in the booth only a large net with a sign asking for exact change. It was a $1.25 toll and all I had was a $20,00 bill. Not feeling that generous I sat there for a moment considering my options. At that moment a car pulled up behind me so I wasn’t able to back up so I jumped out of my car and ran back to the card behind me with my $20.00 in hand. I asked the driver if she hand change for a $20.00, she didn’t but much to my surprise she handed me $1.25 and said “Happy Holiday”. I did and will “pay forward” her kindness.ReplyCancel

Well this is now the last chance I guess to add a comment here, and I sooo hope to be lucky this time LOL, but with all these messages, probably not ha ha ha. I must admit, I´m pretty addicted to most things about papercrafting, as it´s just what I really love to do, when I need to relax, but Spellbinder dies and border/ cornerpunchers are also really high on ,y wishlist and next to that all kinds of dies and tools, that can create fun things to a card ha ha ha. And there´s probably a lot more, that I just haven´t found out about yet ha ha ha, but I will sometime soon, I´m sure ha ha ha.
Have a wonderful day hun and take good care.ReplyCancel

I’d have to say one of the best things I’ve collected lots of through my crafting hobby is new, sweet friends! Many of them I have not and may never meet, but they are wonderful friends, nonetheless!!! They are my cyber friends and they can have as big an impact on our lives as friends whom we are fortunate enough to know and love in person!ReplyCancel

Paper, paper, paper and more paper! I love paper! I love to see the patterns, feel the texture, and put them together into a beautiful card. Granted, I have many other supplies I collect, but paper is truly my weakness! I’m sorry you had such a harrowing experience, however, God and his angels were watching over you! I’m a relatively new follower of your creations and I am so glad my friend Cindy led me here! Your cards are truly beautiful.

    Good morning Becca,
I also have a passion for sentiments. It makes the whole card. You can have the right paper and ribbon and embellishments, but if the card does not speak for you, or to the person you are sending it to, then what is the point of sending it!!!!!! I know that you will continue to inspire me to use all of my creativity and your Blog will continue to be the first thing I go to on my computer every morning. Thank you so much for sharing your talent, and your life with us. LOL KathleenReplyCancel

Let’s see… I’ve mentioned that I collect Spellbinders, punches, paper and stamps. Another thing that I collect is ink pads and reinkers. There are so many kinds of ink besides the fact that I like using different colors… so that collection just keeps growing and growing. And probably one of the things I started collecting first was embossing folders. I love the look of embossing so I keep adding more of those to the collection as folders I like come out. That collection has not been growing as fast as it used to, but it still gets added to frequently.ReplyCancel

Didn’t know what time Monday you might close the contest but thought I’d make one more entry. One of the other things I collect is, of course, ink pads. I used to always get full sized ones but now primarily collect the smaller cat’s eyes or dewdrops types. Except for Tim Holtz’ distressed inks;. I’m gradually buying a large array of pads and reinkers of those. So much interesting work is done with them!ReplyCancel

  • Cathie (Owen Sound)January 24, 2011 - 12:44 pm

My most favourite things to collect are paper, punches, stamps and Spellbinders. I love each and every one and it is hard to go shopping and not come home with at least one of these.
My birthday is coming up and I am going to ask for some new Spellbinders and some Justrite stamps to match.
    Love and hugs,
    CathieReplyCancel

Hello, Becca. I love collecting Spellbinders, punches, embellishments & bling, and pads of gorgeous paper (which I forget to use for cardmaking; I only seem to use the printed papers for scrapbooking.)

Hope you’re having a good day…. thanks again for all the beautiful creations that you share with us.ReplyCancel

I was watching some youtube videos yesterday and came across a card maker who referred to you as the Queen of Spellbinders dies. Intrigued, I clicked on the link she gave. Well, it was such a treat to see so many beautiful and elegant creations! I didn’t get to bed til it was quite late because I just had to see one more page of past posts….To say they are inspiring is an understatement.
I make cards primarily and I’m a big collector of dies and punches because I enjoy customizing my embellishments.
Thank you for sharing you talents.ReplyCancel

Just heading off to bed but wanted to sign in on what I collect! Let’s see I have already stated I collect Spellbinders, Paper packs, and punches. I guess one of the other things I am collecting is things to organize all of my other collections. If you don’t keep those items in a spot together then you spend too much time looking for what you need for a project.

Okay off to bed! Looking forward to winning some blog candy!ReplyCancel
