Hi there sweeties!! First of all, thanks to those who have signed up for an opportunity to win the new Core’dinations that matches Ranger Distress Inks and Adirondack Inks. Now moving on, another piece of the ensemble I created using Spellbinders Parisian Accents and Motifs (we’re almost done). This Journal was the inspiration and starting point for the entire ensemble. I’ve long wanted my own specially made Gratitude Journal versus just a lined notebook. In this one I can sketch, doodle and glue in items I like. The stamps I’ve used are a set from Quietfire Design called Journal of Gratitude Bookstamps that are artistically beautiful as well as delightfully elegant. Once the innards were stamped, I closed the cover and concentrated on the outside.
I think I picked this journal up at Books a Million for less than $5.00. I love it that it’s a bound book and it has an elastic band that keeps the book closed. Blank pages that are heavier than text weight paper made it fly into my shopping cart!

What a lovely idea of having a place for noting things to be grateful for, we often feel low and this is a great way of staying positive and cheering ourselves up.
Having a beautiful wee book to doodle and sketch our creative thoughts and images is so inspiring too.
Much better than my plain old sketch book any day. I’d never thought of making it look so attractive on the outside too.

wow. the whole set is so elegant and classy. you truly have an eye for putting all these wonderful elements together without looking over done. as my 8yr.old great niece says “it’s not too goobered up”.
i got to thinking about what other stuff i collect. i also love fabrics. i have been collecting it since i worked in a fabric store in the early ’70’s. altho i don’t sew like i used to i still love the colors and textures.
Oh, how I love your journal cover! It is so much more fun to write in a beautiful journal book than one with an ugly cover. (I never thought of recovering some that I have – again, thanks for your inspiration! I really love your paper crafting style, it totally appeals to me. So soft and feminine. Yours is the first blog that I look at each day. Keep inspiring us with your beautiful projects!
Absolutely stunning Becca…this is one item I’ve never tried ( covering an ugly book ) so must have a go. Thank you for sharing this with us. I’ve been away on a little break for 5 days while our daughter was in respite so I’m now doing a ‘catch-up’ on your beautiful blog.

This is gorgeous! I have to have heavier paper if I am to pick up a book like this, too. The paper quality makes all the difference, since you can “improve” the covers.

Oh Becca, after watching your site for the last couple of months and being totally mesmerized by your work and creativity I signed up for a stamping and card making class to learn a few techniques and do things right the first time instead of completely by trial and error. Well… I attended the first class this week and am more hooked than even before. I love your elegance and creativity and can only hope someday I can gain even half as much flair. Love you!

Your gratitude journal is beautiful. Who wouldn’t feel grateful having something so lovely to write in. You remind us that if we have an attitude of gratefulness it is difficult to be negative about life. We have so many blessings each day if we will only take time to think about them. Writing them down would certainly be helpful to get you to that grateful attitude!

I love the dies you have used on this project and learning how I can use my dies in different ways.
Its a great make and idea and something that I myself have, although the outside of it was far to nice to change when I bought it. I put my favourite things in mine like pics of my friends and family etc. Love the stamp – such beautiful calligraphy.
