There is no doubt that I love red and when these poppy stamps came my way this month, well red was certainly on deck. Oh my goodness, you have to love poppies – do they even come other than red, lol? Paired with white and kept simple, I really wanted to design a card where you could see the poppies front and center.
This month Our Daily Bread Designs released a matching die to go with the poppy stamp – this was as easy as pie. I’m using the stamp set called Mothers Day and the single poppy die from ODBD. I popped it up on a base made using an embossing folder that I trimmed with a red layer. Then I simply stamped my sentiment onto a cut made with Spellbinders Nested Pennants and mounted my poppies on the end. I haven’t done a big bow in a while so I did it while I still had room on the card, lol!!
SUPPLIES I USED |
Stamps: Our Daily Bread Designs – Mother’s Day Paper: Bazzill Ink: Versafine Onyx Black, Memento Onyx Black Accessories: Our Daily Bread Designs – Poppy Die, Spellbinders Nested Pennants, Sizzix Embossing Folder |
I’ll be back tomorrow with something new from JustRite!! Hope to see you then!
WOW is about all I can say! Just love the red bow and red pearls in the embossed piece. Your designs are just SO elegant…you say simple, but that simplicity is really classy in this card.

Thanks!

So Stunning! Classy, cheerful and bright. Red and white are beautiful colors for cards. What technique you used for embossing two different folders? Or is there a new one out that has Swiss dots with that flourish? Beautiful card as usual. Thanks for sharing it with us all.
it’s so pretty and how do you make such beautiful bows?

Beautiful card! I’m interested in learning which embossing folders you used – is there a special technique for using two different ones?

So pretty Becca…I grow red poppies, so this card is double gorgeous to me!! I don’t own any ODB stamps yet…and they have a die….whoa…will have to check that out!
Simply gorgeous Becca! I love poppies and grow them in my yard. I am always so sad when they go away :) And yes, they come in other colors – I have red, salmon pink and white. Will try to post a picture when they bloom! Now I am off to OBDB to check out this poppy stamp :)
Just Pure-T Lovely! Red & white, so crisp, cheery & clean looking. What sizzix folder is the one you used? Really like it. TFS. Hugs.
I think poppies are my favorite flower to look at. They are always so very outstanding. The have such a “presence” about them. Again Becca, you have made quite the beautiful card. I always look forward to your site. Thanks for sharing your talents. Hugs, Linda

So beautiful! I love the red and white and that bow is sooo rich looking.
Thanks for sharing! :)
This is just gorgeous!! One of my favorite ways to use color is to put a bright or deep rich color with white like this. And red is one of my very favorites!!!
Your bows always amaze me Becca. Yet another beautiful card.
Thank you!
Hi Becca
Poppies have to be my favourite flower and have a special meaning to me as they remind me of my Dad.
You can get poppies in many colours – we have pinks and lilac colours here in the UK, and oranges and deep reds. There is also a species called Californian Poppy which have delicate colours in and even an orange that is like a marigold. Beautiful.

Very Pretty Becca!
Stunning! What more can I say?
Seems I’ve come to expect no
less from you, Becca. And you
never disappoint…
Very cute…love the color!
I wish you had a button that we could just click to say “gorgeous, love it.” I want to show my admiration for your amazing work but there are just so many ways we can say this day after day, beautiful project after beautiful project. I know– we should get you set up on a rating scale like they do at the Olympics, (bet you’d get lots of 10’s.)
Beautiful – refreshing! Love the CAS look.
VERY PRETTY BECCA!!!!!!!!!!!! :) Your card is SHARP!!!!!!!!!!!
Beautiful! I love the poppy stamp- so cool to have a matching die too…..
Gorgeous Becca! LOVE that big red bow!
Oh, my! Red, white and black…the easiest, classiest colors to work with. Beautiful job!
Love your Red Poppies, beautiful card! thanks for sharing!!!
Absolutely gorgeous card. I love the red bow. Thanks for sharing.
Becca, another stunner… I know my Mom would be able to see that brilliant red against the white. She is deaf/blind and her sight is beginning to really fail her, but she is the most positive person I know. Instead of looking at her cup half empty, she tries to find all the things that make her cup half full instead!!!!
OOps, I pressed submit before I was done. .. you have inspired me to try my hand at a bright cheerful card in the hopes she will see it.
Thanks for your inspiring work!!
Becca…..love the red/white combo on this. I also really like the tiny red beads or pearls you used. Unless I’m missing something, I don’t see what beads you used on your supply list. I’ve never seen any beads that look like that. Could you update the supply list to include what the beads are? Thanks…….
I love pppies – especially those big red ones that are the size of a salad plate – they just shout “lool at me” – you did a great job on your card. Simple but elegant. I tried searching for that embossing folder but could not find it. Do you know the name of if? Or is is two folders?
Wow! Stunning! SO Elegant.
Blessings Bernie
Wow… I just got this folder and it looks better when you use it! The card is definitely one I could use for Mother’s Day. The Sizixx folder set is called Flourish, Dots and Ribbon. Tks for sharing!
Love this card Becca. The embossing is very cool. The red bow is very eye catching.
OOOOOOOOHHHHHHH!!!! I just love red/white/black. I think that is my favorite combination. This is gorgeous, I ordered this stamp set and die should be here any day now. I can’t wait. I really love the embossing folder that you used. I will have to look into it. I like how it is only embossed on the uppper part of the card and the mix of scroll and dots.
Don’t think I have seen this one yet.
Marcie
What a lovely card!!!!
Jan Castle
An absolutely stunning card! You did something similar before with the white and red and it is just beautiful! You are so right about the poppies – a gorgeous flower. We used to have all colors as well as the Iceland poppies – so pretty. I miss them.
Lovely card and the simplicity of the red and white!! I see others have left questions about the embossing folder too. I have the swiss dot but couldn’t figure out how you did the swirl thing along with the swiss dots. Now thanks to someone else’s comment it must be all the same embossing folder. Gotta know the name and brand!! Thanks!!
Love your red poppies card. It would be perfect for my Mom she loves poppies.
Becca,
This is such a beautful card. You have outdone yourself. I love the combination of red and white, love the poppies and embossing. The red pearls and red bow just set it off. Love this

Love the elegance you create on a very “simple” card. I love the poppy and the matching die, but there were too many other items in the new package I HAD to have, so it will have to wait. Wish the poppy were a separate item.
Oh boy! So fresh, crisp and full of positive energy. Who wouldn’t feel energized looking at it?
Beautiful and elegant card, as always that stunning bow really wow’s me, like many others I am interested in how you either combined embossing folders or which one you used please. Just love your cards.

This card is stunning. I am another one who would like to know how you accomplished the duel embossing and which embossing folders or borders you used.
Would also like to know your bow tying technique.

Beautiful card as usual, Becca – thank you! Do you happen remember the Bazzill red you used on this – I have been searching high and low for what is a good red, and this one looks like it fits the bill. Thanks.
