Hi there blog friends, I hope you had a great weekend!! I spent a little time this weekend getting inky and I’m sharing new stamps from Waltzingmouse Stamps. Today is Day One of four days of new releases. Can I just say that I love it when the mail man brings goodies. The sets that are being previewed today are amazing – today they harken back to the days of The Great Gatsby during the Art Deco age. Clean lines and crisp color — the motifs were sleek and angular and everything was dripping with gold. I love doing theme cards so I had to go back and do a little bit of research, but I loved what I was seeing. My card today is made from the classic shapes that were dominant during the Art Deco age.
I was tickled to pull out Spellbinders Nested Pennants, Spellbinders Circles LG and Spellbinders Circles SM. The colorway is one of my favorites black, white and gold!!
My card making idea was simple, I cut five of the nested pennants and arranged them in pyramid fashion with the bottom of the triangle at the top. Each piece was edged with gold foil paper. That motif was then added to a card base with a ribbon tied around it. The triangle that holds the sentiment was hand cut.
Here’s your Step By Step recap of die cuts and layers stacked from the bottom up: Start out with a black Card Base 5-1/2″ x 7″, foam tape, gold matting layer cut to 4-7/8″ x 6-7/8″, white layer cut to 4-3/4″ x 6-3/4″, foam tape, five nested pennants arranged as described above, foam tape, die cut layer using Circles SM, foam tape, die cut layer using Circles LG, foam tape, die cut layer using Circles SM, foam tape, die cut layer using Circles LG, add hand cut triangle with sentiment, ribbon, bow and button.

As always another gorgeous project here today Becca, but I must confess, I loved the ones from yesterday more, and I was so thrilled to see all your amazing stamps and dies here in our part of the world finally. It was such an awesome feeling to sit and watch your work live on the screen like yesterday, and I loved every minute of it, and like you, I was glued to the screen here he he he, but boy it always cost me money to watch that show ha ha ha ha.

Love the card and yesterday cost me a fortune, watching Create and Craft on TV. Sue Wilson is so clever at demonstrating and her blog is brilliant. Bought your pieces and loads more. Wish it was easier to buy items direct from you as your bow maker would be top of my wish list but I am not very good with computers and living here in the UK its a bit difficult.

Love the card Becca – it was a very ‘opulent time’ back then and still has charm. I was able to buy (lots of) crafty goodies ahead of the shows as I was out all day yesterday. This is the first time, though I have loved so, so many stamps and dies, that a particular theme jumped out to me and said “Buy me!” I absolutely love the black and white and gold, too! You did your research and nailed it on the head with the banners appearing as the opening presentation of a film. Wow, Becca! This set is a home run for Waltzingmouse designs, in my opinion. Now how will I keep the order on this planet?

Outstanding card! Great use of the Pennant Dies. I’m about to give up on the more intricate Spellbinder dies. I just cannot get them to come out nicely. I use a Big Shot and run it through time after time with shims, etc. and still they do not cut perfectly. How do you do it?? I love your cards, but when the dies don’t come nicely, I can’t use them. You have such talent! Thanks for sharing.
