Today, out of respect, I wanted to take pause to remember the tragedy of 9-11, the lives that were affected and the nation that was changed. Of course it is one of those events where I will never forget what I was doing on that morning and my children were old enough at the time to remember too and will have lasting memories. The enormity of it all, the grief for the families and the anger…oh how we prayed. I remember weeping so many times that week. A friend sent me a poignant slide show through email this week that shows everything in detail again – people jumping, building collapsing, smoke and ruin. Out of the rubble rose the pride of a nation and we were joined by sympathetic allies. Join me (please, without political commentary) in remembering . . .
Because I wanted to get something worked up quickly to post tonight, I went with the layout from SC193 to plan the card. It’s a tall card measuring 4.25 inches wide by 8 inches tall.
Have a blessed day! I have blog candy to announce perhaps tomorrow and please know that I’m working on projects to share with you soon.
Supplies:
Stamps: Wordsworth

Hello Becca,
I just wanted to thank you for the lovely card. One of my cousins died in the 9-11 while working in the pentagon. I appreciate you remembering and I often think of him and the times we all shared with the family.

Good evening, Becca. A poignant, thoughtful card from you today. Coming from Northern Ireland I am very much aware of the heartache and devastation caused by acts of terrorism so my thoughts are with you all on this remembrance day.
Wonderful remembrance. ?

What a great card in tribute of the fallen on that day. I too, remember that morning as my husband was spending the week in Washington DC. I know the feelings I had and he was safe, I cannot fathom what others went through. Bless you, Becca.
I forgot to say that I gave you an award on my blog today!
That’s a beautiful card, Becca. I have had a memorial post at the top of my blog all day, remembering the Americans, the British and people from other countries whose lives were lost or affected by the tragedy of 9/11, and how many nations were deeply impacted and will never be the same.. particularly the United States.
In the words of Dickens, God bless us… every one.
Beccas this is a lovely remembrance.
Becca,
Beautiful card Becca. September 11th is hard for me because I want to be happy as it is my husband and I wedding anniversary. Fifteen years ago, September 11, 1993. We both feel guilty about celebrating, so we usually celebrate on a different day. I guess that our anniversary is forever tarnished with that tragedy. It is a painful reminder to really appreciate all of the blessings that God has given us, those directly ewffected by the tragedy, aren’t so fortunate. God bless the USA, and God Bless you Becca.
Hugs, Lisa
P.S. Too busy to email a friend? haha
Thank you for honoring all those involved on 9-11. darlene
Great tribute, love the way you added the red white and blue!
Was thinking of you all yesterday – such a great card too Becca….
Your card is a beautiful way to remember. I, like everyone else, will always remember that day, not only for the horrors but because my husband was on a plane heading to Los Angeles when the planes hit the Towers. We had no idea where he was for several hours, and I never want to forget how I felt, especially when he landed and called to tell me he was safe. A life changing day.
What a great card for this day!
Lovely, Becca.
Becca: Thank you for this lovely way of remembering – your card and your words are very appropriate.
