Repurposing the Filigree Booklet and Weekly Inspiration

Christmas Card Making Ideas by Becca Feeken using Spellbinders Filigree Booklet Die and Spellbinders Breanna
You’re done with your Christmas shopping, right?  Lol, I have not even started!  In the meantime, I wanted to pop in with a card and some Creative Team inspiration for the week.  For my card, I wanted to try my hand at repurposing the filigree booklet die into a background for a card.  How easy is that?  Using the Filigree Booklet Die, I cut the same pattern into both sides (the die comes with two pattern inserts).  By using both inserts the focal panel you come up with is pretty and covers a lot of real estate.  I covered the double inserts with  Breanna’s Corset Label Die which I had stamped with a Christmas sentiment!

Repurposing the Filigree Booklet into a Full Background

To cut, you simply run through once cutting and once embossing with the pattern, then run through a second time with the pattern in the second slot but only run through to cut and emboss to the edge of the die – just like partial cutting.  You do that to minimize flattening out what you’ve already done.

Be sure to cover up the holes – no one will know what this originally was.

What a lovely way to repurpose those patterns :-) Because they make a big full pattern it opens you up to using the background for whatever you want!!  Hunt through your dies, is there anything there to repurpose?
