Well, today finds me a little bit under the weather. My husband caught a cold or something and I thought for sure I had it. I crashed for about 12 hours of sleep and feel better but still feel like something is lurking. I didn’t get any stamping done last night or today, but thought I’d show you something I whipped up very quickly using my Our Daily Bread Designs stamps.
So many times we buy stamp sets but don’t put them to use because we think we have the make the best card in the world or that we have to invent something that no one else has invented. Trust me, even the simple appeals. This was stamped up in a quick 10 minutes and put in ready made frames and candlesticks and is now sitting in my dining room on a buffet. This fulfilled me just as much as the intense cards that I labor over for hours. Why? Because the stamps are simply beautiful and it’s a shame to hide them in my notebooks or my drawers. Now, besides a card that I can send a friend, I have great scripture on display with these great stamped objects that my family and I can see all day long as we pass through the house.
These candlesticks I found on sale in the clearance section at Michaels for $3.00 each. When I purchased them, I bought only one. Then when I liked how easy they were to put together and how they looked , I went back to get matching colors…you know the story, they had already been snapped up. Oh well, next time I’ll get two for sure!
I simply cut a piece of glassene vellum for the inside of the candles, stamped then embossed each image with detail gold embossing powder. Were you to turn the candle around, the other stamp I used was the large Peace on Earth from the newly released Peace on Earth set available at Our Daily Bread Designs.
I hope I’ve encouraged or challenged you to keep it simple. Don’t let the beauty of your stamps pass while sitting in a drawer or more importantly don’t pass up the opportunity to get a great stamp because you don’t feel like coloring it. I rarely color but I have not let it be an obstacle to using a stamp – there are too many techniques out there that will enhance it’s beauty. Who says it has to go on a card? It doesn’t…stamp it up, put it in a frame and admire that wonderful scripture, sentiment or picture.

Becca………..these are stunning! I particularly love the candle sticks!
Actually could have used them earlier this evening as I am in N FL and we lost power for a bit. Fortunately we have a generator so we weren’t without it for long and luckily the power was back on withing a hour and a half! My mind is already figuring out what I may have on hand around here to make something like that!LOL
Very elegant, the ribbon you chose really adds to it all as well. I love simple as well, especially when I need a really quick last minute card to mail. Thanks as always for the inspiration your creations provide.
If you would like to visit me. I’ve left something on my Blog for you!

Love the candles ~ Hope you feel better soon……
Lovely Becca! I can see why this made it to the buffet! I have been looking at this stamp set long enough. I am leaving here and popping over to ODB. Do I feel guilty ’cause I just bought my initial order from the new Stampin’ Up catalog — yeah a little bit! Do I feel even more guilty because I swore I was not going to buy the new SU Big Shot and in a moment of weakness (I was nearly out of black cardstock and Halloween is coming, and well you have to have black cardstock. But then you can’t just order cardstock, the shipping would be more than the product. What’s a girl to do? Order the Big Shot and the whole kit and kaboodle of course! I was weak. I will say a prayer and head over to buy this gorgeous stamp set!!!
I did it, I finally bought some of these stamps! Praise the Lord and I hope he was serious when he said he would provide!! I really can’t wait to get these lovely images and I hope that I can do them justice!
Great projects! I especially love the framed piece. Your art always cheers me up, especially when I’m having a trying day at work. It reminds me that I get to go home eventually and do something creative!
What a great idea Becca!! Love what you have done here.
Hope you have a fabulous day!
Very pretty, Becca~!
These look just gorgeous Becca (as always!) and what a lovely idea to be able to display them all the time!
I also love the quote today, how very true but something we often overlook in our busy lives.
Very cool! Hope you’re both feeling better soon :-)
Becca … your creations are gorgeous!!! I can’t believe you can be sooo creative even when you aren’t feeling your best!!! Absolutely gorgeous!!! Feel better soon!!
Good evening, Becca-so sorry you and your husband have not been feeling well. Even so, your little grey cells must continue to work designing because this is so lovely and I love this scripture. You must have an inordinate amount of ribbon because you always have just that right shade of colour to enhance your project. When I see your work I really do wish I was a stamper but unfortunately I’m not. I always lack the confidence needed to colour a stamped image. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks for the nudge to use those stamps in varying ways. Love your candlesticks – I saw those at Michaels & decided I didn’t need them! Hope your and your husband are feeling better soon.
I so agree, Becca. There are many ways to get those images on other items than cardstock! Great frame and candles!
Absolutely gorgeous!!
What a beautiful set of projects for your home! If you ever get tired of them, I can send you my address, lol! Just kidding- but seriously, these are really nice!
WOW Becca, your projects are awesome!!! Love them a lot. I will try to make something like that.
Thanks for sharing.
God bless

All of the items are gorgeous, but I especially love the one on the easel frame. It brought tears to my eyes as it made me think of my mom who went to heaven two years ago this month.
What a beautiful project Becca!! I actually like that they are different colors and heights instead of the same.
