Hi all, I have several things to share with you. First of all thanks so much for the sweet Birthday Wishes. I’m only home long enough to get a post up so I won’t be able to weigh in to thank everyone individually especially all the wonderful folks on Facebook, but I hope you know that today, your well wishes mean more than you can possibly know. Over the last couple of weeks my husband has not been well and life has been a little unpredictable. Many of you who have gone back to the beginning of my blog know that what led me to blog was the fact that I was a caregiver, tethered to home. It was one of the best decisions of my life – it pulled me out of a total despair and gave me a way to celebrate and grow in my faith. What a blessing!! It has kept me from being isolated, I’ve made so many friends and I’ve made my hands busy in the most difficult of times.
All of that to say, we are going through a tough time and I may be quiet – that’s how I deal with stress. In the middle of the turmoil you will for sure see creations from me and think, hunh? It may be odd, but, that’s how I deal with stress – the busier I can stay, the better. I plan to keep on keeping on, but in the interim, I hope that those of you who are waiting for tutorials on the Snowflake and the Christmas planner will understand that I’ve got a lot going on. I’ll get there, I promise. In the meantime, if you can spare a prayer for my husband John, we are so in need.
I just so happens, I have something to show that I created early this morning in between appointments. It’s a favor that’s going to a sweet friend of mine – I’ll be putting a gift card inside.
In my surfing I saw a die template that makes a similar dress, but it wasn’t in my craft budget. Working with what I have on hand, I pulled out my Spellbinders Grand Ovals die to make the dress and used a Spellbinders Classic Ovals LG for the bodice of the dress. I took a couple of nips out of the bodice for the neck and arms using an EK Success 1 1/2" round punch. To finish I hung a small tag on my closure ribbon using Spellbinders Tags Five. All in all, about an hours worth of work to figure it all out from beginning to end.
Here’s the back side – that sweet little flower hides a velcro closure.
This is the inside. See how simple that is? I put a notch on the top side of one strip and the bottom side of the other strip so that when they meet, they interlock and close off the sides of the container.

I’m so sorry to hear about your husband, it sounds like he’s had a tough row to hoe for quite some time and it probably isn’t much easier for you, the caregiver. I know that he’s in the best of hands because your sweetness shines through onto your blog. I will keep the two of you in my prayers. I look forward to, and appreciate everything that you upload to your blog.

Just wanted you to know that you and your husband are in my thoughts and prayers. Your dress box is beautiful.
In the midst of troubles, you are still thinking of others, what a gift you have. Wonderful creation and lucky friend. I understand what you are going through right now (been there a lot these last two years with my own hubby), but know your strong unwavering faith with see you through. God never promised there would be no tough times, just promised to always be with you (Isaiah 41:10) Bless you both and know your on-line friends are praying.
I’ll be praying for your husband and you!
Beautiful project!
Blessings on you and John. I will add you both to our church prayerlist and our national prayer list as well. I know just a little of what it is you are doing. God give you strength and a cheerful heart. It is too easy to fall into black spirits.

You are most certainly in our prayers. Healing for your husband and wisdom and peace for you.
Hi Becca,
Sorry to hear your husband is not well, hope he will be better soon, and you can get back to normal. As usual your designs are just beautiful .I love checking every day to see what you have been up to.
Becca,
Being a caregiver is one of the most rewarding, tiring, loving, and emotionally draining and uplifiting “jobs” one can have. It is up one minute, and down the next. I so damire caregivers.
Both of you are in my prayers. Take care of yourself, as well as your husband. You need your strength.
Know that you have many people praying for you.
An awesome project as always. Wish I could do that well under stress. You and John are in my thoughts and prayers.
Hi Becca,
I am praying for you and your hubby…..healing for him, and strength for you. You have been such an inspiration to me, and so many others. Your stamping/cardmaking is a ministry, you know! God has used you to touch so many lives. I’m sorry you have to go through this valley at this time, and hoping you know that so many others care and are holding you up in prayer. May this bring you peace in your trials.
Great project, btw! Love the pink and the pearly/lace details!
Blessings!
I will be praying for you and your husband.
I really love your blog and your creations, ideas and kind words.
Dear Becca, my heart and prayers are with you, John and your family. Take care and know that many of us are earnestly praying for you–lifting both you and John. We all love you. If I had your address I would send you one of my writings that was born out stress and pain. Instead, I will leave it here for you and hope that you have time to read it. Be still and stay steeped in His Word, for He will carry you. Cynthia
He is the Music
HE is the Music
That cradles your heart
When pain invades
And tears your spirit asunder.
HE is the Music
That soothes your mind
When troubles visit
And test your faith.
Our Lord is the Music
That continues to play
When everything ceases
And your soul finds peace.
~prayer notes~
I, like many others, am so glad to have found your blog. I look with wonder at your designs and am thankful you so willingly share your gifts. This dress is amazing! How totally cool!!!!
I will keep you in my prayers and I hope you find the strength that I know flows from all of your online friends. Is it not almost impossible to believe that folks you never met can feel so close because of papercrafting? I often think that I “know” someone because I get to a point where I recognize their work, I know what they like or are comfortable doing in their art and yet I only see their web page!! God does work in ever changing ways! Someday I too may make that jump from my craft room to the web!
Thanks for your beautiful dress!
Kathy
Becca- You and John are in my thoughts and prayers. I know what you’re going through, I’ve been there myself.
Happy Birthday also!!
Praying for you Becca. It is so hard for John of course, but also for the caregiver. I used to be a volunteer advocate and God seems to shine a light on them! Beautiful card BTW~~thank you for taking the time to share!
Cheri
Yes, I too am sorry about the hard time you are going through and praying for you both. I love all your creativity and enjoy reading every day what you are doing now. I’m glad it is a stress reliever for you ~ we all need that.
Becca,
Happy Birthday. I will keep you and your husband in my prayers.
Both of you are on my heart and in my prayers! I know the drain of such a time, first as a caregiver, now as someone fighting disease. I take such comfort in your beautiful creations, a wonderful substitute on the days I’m unable to stamp myself – you are a blessing in so many ways! Most of all, you consistently share His Word. Bless you!
debra~
Hey Becca, As God moves us through life, he gives us challenges to prepare for new doors he is about to open. Our prayers are that we are ready for what He is preparing us for. You are regularly in our prayers and will continue to be. I wish you the best for your birthday and know that you’ll rest in His arms with all your needs. Blessings.
Hi Becca I am so sorry to hear about your bad news I was unaware of all of this as I am one of your newer followers but my thoughts are with you and your family just make sure to look after yourself. On a more happier note I absolutely love your project today its so clever how you made this from the oval nesties i love it xx
Becca, I am so sorry things are not going well. I will keep you and your husband in my prayers. Your gift card holder is truly amazing, however. How beautiful and creative!! Thanks so much for sharing, and hang in there. God doesn’t give us more than we can handle.
You and John are in my thoughts and prayers. You do so much for me every day when I get your email with beautiful ideas for cards and other craft things. When there isn’t one from you I feel a little depressed. I am sure your inspiration is helping many like me.
Thanks Becca. Love you heeps. Keep strong.
Marjorie.
Oh I am so sorry to read the John is not doing well again. Just know that both of you are in the prayers of hundreds of people. We are all sending strength you way. Keeping strong is hard when you are weak in the knees from worry.
Your dress gift holder is precious!
I am sorry things are not going well. You also need to care of YOU. I will keep the two of you in my prayers.
Dear Becca, God gave you the most wonderful gift of creativity, every card you make is so beautiful and inspiring. I am praying for you and John and hope all the prayers will lift you up and get you both through this difficult time.
Praying for you and your family. God is good and he will see you through this. Love this litte dress. It would take me a lot longer than an hour to figure it out even if I had the directions!
Becca,
You and your family are in my prayers. I know it is difficult, yet in these times, God is close and with you. Some times when we do not realize it He is there holding and guiding you.
Your creations are so beautiful and I love to see what you do so often. They inspire me and help me to see the beauty in creating something from basic supplies. You are so great at what you do.
Happy belated birthday,
Hugs and Prayers
Gale
Love the dress!! Anyone that can come up with creations like this under stress is truly blessed. You are amazing and I always love whatever you come up with.

Becca, I am sorry that John is not doing well right now. I will keep you both in my prayers. Happy Birthday to you – be sure to take care of yourself, too. Being a caregiver is so demanding. You continue to astound and inspire us with your beautiful and creative projects. I’m glad it is somewhat therapeutic for you to create during this difficult time.

This is another amazing concoction girl LOL! Fantastic!
I’m so sorry things are tough for you right now, Becca. We never like to see any friend go through the challenging parts of life on this earth. Please know that yours and John’s names are on the lips of many tonight as we pray. Linda S. in NE
Becca, you always seem to amaze me. Having the ability to create beautiful items and thinking of others with all the stress in your life is truely amazing! We all deal differently and I for one am truely grateful your release is creating beautiful cards for all of us to see and share. My prayers are with you and your husband. May God bring him and you peace and comfort during this time.
Dearest Becca, I am praying for you and John right now and will continue to do so until I hear further.

Becca, I am sorry to hear there are rough roads ahead I am so sorry and hope John will get through this tough time and you will be strong enough too. I will daily say an extra prayer for you both. Blessings to you both.
I am glad you have your talent to give you an outlet it’s not healthy to keep things inside.
Stay strong God bless
Warmest birthday wishes, Becca. It was so nice to finally meet you at CHA. As I told you, I’ve been such an admirer for so long! I’m terribly sorry to hear your husband is going through such a difficult time but how lucky he is to have you close by. Thank you for keeping us close as well.
I have just flipped over the cuteness and beauty of this dress box…which surprises me because I’m not a ‘pink person’ nor particularly feminine and this is definitely both! And it wouldn’t surprise me if your pattern should prove to be much more effective, simpler to make, and the result more beautiful than that which inspired you. The Spellbinders Grands must have been made with you in mind and they must be thrilled with your uses of them. You and John are in God’s hands and we praise Him that your outlet is the creation of beautiful things that you so willingly share. Both of you are in my prayers.
Hi Becca,
I hope your birthday is a great one filled with lots of joy spent with family. That little pink dress is so pretty. Keeping you and your family in my thoughts and prayers.
Mary
Both of you are in my prayers. I pray that you may both have peace knowing that God is in control and everything will work out in His plans.

Praying for John and you. Happy Birthday and thanks for sharing yourself with us. May God bless you and yours. We love you.
God Bless you and your husband, Becca.

I have been blessed by your words of wisdom and inspiration. I admire your work and your talent.
May our Lord bless and keep you in perfect peace.
Take care..
Becca, caring thoughts & prayers for you and your husband are coming your way. I look at your blog daily and so appreciate the talent you have and the beauty you share. God bless. C:
Happy Birthday Becca.
My heart is very sad for you and John and I empathize totally with your situation. I too am a caregiver for my 92 year old father. He was in the hospital in really bad shape on my Birthday in August and he told me he wanted to die. It was a very sad Birthday for me. He came home but hasn’t gotten much better and now again is going through some critical health issues.
I will pray for you, John and your family as you deal with this latest trial. We know that God sustains us in these times and through Him all things are possible according to His plan for us. I truly hope that God pulls John through whatever health problems he is having and that God’s loving arms are wrapped around you bringing you comfort.
Becca, as with everyone else who’s written, you and John will certainly be in my thoughts. Having a husband and recently a Mom and Dad with health issues, I know how stressful it can be on the caregiver. Just keep in mind as they tell you on airplanes, in event of decompression put on YOUR mask first then help those traveling with you! You can’t help them if you don’t take care of yourself. I know, believe me I know, that this is hard to do. But as I’m sure you’ve learned it’s very good advice! Wishing both of you the very best,
R/
I’ve been wondering lately how your husband’s been doing. I’m glad for the update to give prayerful support, but sorry it’s not good news. Good news is God is all powerful and always faithful to his children. I definitely will be praying for you, your husband and family. By the way the dress favor box is the cutest! I thank God that He has given you this creative talent to help you through difficult times and to share with others.
Becca, I’m sorry hear your husband isn’t feeling well. Is this part of what he’s been dealing with for a while now? I know firsthand the stress of being a caregiver as I’ve been my husband’s for nearly five years. I will definitely pray for you. Thank you for sharing so many beautiful cards and projects with us. Reading your posts is always a highlight of my day.
My prayers are with you both, sweetheart. :)
Elin K.
Happy Happy Birthday to you Becca! Wishing you many, many more!!
Sorry to hear that you and your hubby are going through such a rough time. Thoughts and prayers are with you.

Becca,
You are truely an amazing woman with a God given talent like no other. I am so sorry that you are going thru such troubled times. You and John are in my prayers. I would also like to extend a belated Birthday wish. We have that in common, as well as being a caregiver. I too just celebrated another year. ugh!!
Your gift card is absolutely adorable, but you already know this.
I felt something was not quite right with you lately, but I also knew when you were ready you would share it with us. Steady the course and I know you will find the strength to get thru all of this. God Bless. We are all pulling for both of you. Hugs.
Marcie

“I pray that out of His glorious riches He may strengthen you, Becca, with power through His spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your heart through faith. And I pray Becca, that you being rooted and established in love, may have power to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ.” Eph 3:16-18

You and your husband are dealing with very tough times right now, I feel for you both. It is not an easy position for either of you to be in. But it seems like your faith and your “paper therapy” (what I call crafting) is inspirational and helpful in dealing and coping with the stress. You are both in our prayers. I always look at your blog entry first, as you have such amazing talent and beautiful projects to share with us. Thank you for that. Happy birthday to you, and know that we are all thinking of you.
Becca… I am so sorry to read that your husband is not well. You are both in my prayers. You are an amazingly creative person! Thank you for the blessings that you provide to us every day!
Prayers to you and John, Becca. Sorry things are not going well.
What a beautiful project. You always inspire us on to bigger and better things!
Happy Birthday and have a wonderful one!! Hugs Cheryl
My prayers go out to you and John. Happy Birthday!!! Your project is just darling!
Becca,
Praying for the well being of John, may God place his healing hand on him. I can relate to your situation as I am in the same boat. Each one of us handles stress in their own way. Glad that you have your hobbies with which you get through tough times and enrich all of us. Absolutely love all your work. God bless.
I will pray for your husband, I’m in South Aust so be encouraged that Christian sisters are all over the world. The dress gift card holder is beautiful and clever. Love Tanja
Sorry to hear things are not good at the moment Becca, but crafting and blogging certainly got me through a tough year. And to know people are there for you – from places around the world that you may even not have heard of before – thats such a humbling thing – and one that brings us all a step closer together. I hope that things turn a corner for John and you, and that your prayers and those of others will be answered.
I believe a happy birthday is in order – I had no idea, so i wish you a ‘belated?’ happy birthday and hope that things get better and improve in your home situation.
The tutorials can wait – jeez – you have anough going on, on your blog to keep everyone entertained and out of trouble!!! You concentrate on what’s important, and that is John – and your own wellbeing. If you run yourself ragged – you are no use to him – and he is the one that needs you well right now.
You are in my thoughts.
Paula x x x
and thanks for sharing a very clever project – someone like me would have needed the template – but this shows just how talented you are! x x x
Happy Birthday, Becca!! I’m so sorry things are not going well right now for you and your husband! Both of you will be in my thoughts and prayers!
Originally, I was drawn to your web site because of your exquisite cards. To my delight, I discovered a beautiful person behind your creations and a lovely writer to boot. I had no idea of the serious challenges that have faced you and your husband.
May you both find the strength to carry you through; and the comfort of knowing that many thoughts, prayers and love are sent your way.
My heart & soul ache for you.
Belated happy birthday wishes, Becca, and prayers winging their way from across the pond for you and John. So sorry to hear that things are tough and praying that you will feel God’s presence.
Tutorials can wait. Whatever you produce is worth waiting for, Becca!
If you hadn’t been a caregiver, perhaps you wouldn’t have started this blog.
If you hadn’t started this blog, so many of us would have missed out on the blessings we find here.
You have enriched many lives, Becca. Many here would have been the poorer without the means to see your creations.
May you be richly blessed in return :o)
Hugs
Anne (UK)
Birthday Blessings dear Becca! Please know that many, many prayers are being said for both you and John by all of us out here that “know” you and love you! Happy belated birthday. Know that you and your husband are in my prayers.
Oh Becca…Oh how these struggles can try to get the best of us!!! Please know that you are in my thoughts and Prayers. I will make sure to life both you and John to our Heavenly Father. Thank you so much for sharing your talent with the world. You mentioned that blogging “saved” you when you felt tethered and isolated. We for me…my visit TO BLOGS (yours and others) has saved me! I am a mother of 3 daughters and 2 are special needs. I sometimes feel alone and that no one understands what my life is like.
Thanks again,
10,000 Blessings to you and John,
Valerie
How ingenious your creativity.
How selfless your commitment.

It goes without saying from these entries that you and your husband are definitely surrounded by God and so many of us out in blogland. My prayers and those of so many more are going up for God’s grace, presence, and hands on you both as well as for those who are physically helping you address the problems.
God continues to bless you and all of us for your devotion to sharing your art with us – in fact, you’ve spoiled us all! But, please know that we will be with you in spirit and ready to lift you up when you need us.
Thanks, too, for sharing this very cute project and the inspiration it and all your work brings!

Oh Becca, I do soooo relate! I have been my mom’s caregiver for 9 years now. She was 90 in April. I know how hard it is to keep yourself from sinking into depression. I discovered blogs about 2 years ago, and am so grateful! I started my blog so I could keep busy. Little did I know that it would be so helpful!
I’ve said a prayer for Your hubby and yourself, and will keep you in my prayers.
Hugs, Jessica
Happy Birthday Becca! You are the best and you bring out the best in others, so thanks for sharing! Hope your husband will be better soon…much love.
Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. Prayers going up for you and your hubby. Blessings!
You Can, Because He Can
You can ask the Lord
because He will not give you a wrong answer.
You can wait upon the Lord
because His timing is always perfect.
You can trust in the Lord
because He makes no mistakes.
You can hope in the Lord
because He holds your future.
You can rest in the Lord
because He is in control of your life.
You can lean upon the Lord
because He is completely faithful

Being a Child of the king you know that trials come to make us strong and without a test, you can’t have a testimony. Keep looking to the hills from where your strength comes from. I do belive that no one really understands how hard it is to be a caregiver – longsuffering, but God’s hand is unchanging – hold on to it. You, John and the kids will be in my prayers daily. Love Nan’s message to you. I will also take that one to heart. If you go MIA for a while I’m sure we will understand. We will just be praying harder for you. Just remember – God Is Able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us. (Eph 3:20)
Becca. So sorry to hear of John’s illness! Adding you and your family to my prayer list. We are all here for you. We are great listeners! “Hugs!”
Dear Becca,
Almost daily I find beauty in your blog. I think of you each time I make a card. I am now thinking of you and your dear husband hoping for a good outcome. Please know how much I care about you and yours.
Sandy
Hi Becca

You are an amazing artist! I just love, love, love everything that you make.
Thinking of you.

Dear Becca, My prayers are with you and John. My storey is similar to yours. Being a caregiver to my husband got me into paper arts as well. It has enriched my life so. It is like an escape without going far from home. We are 20 years in at this point and fortunately he is an optomist and this tends to keep me going.
You are just too clever and this is so pretty, she will be thrilled!
Praying God bring you peace and strength for whatever you to are going through!
I hope today finds both you and your husband feeling a bit better
Hugs

Becca, I know what you are going through I am married with 5 children (2 are gone home to be with the Lord), shorthly after the loss of my two daughters, my mothers cancer became worse, I had to be her caregiver, it was quite challengeing but the Lord saw me through and He will see you through as well. You and your family are in my prayers.
Dearest Becca…Happy Belated Birthday!
Girlfriend,
If prayer is what you need…then prayer is what you will get! Some things come only by fasting and praying. If I know one thing for sure…it is that our God is faithful and will never leave you in the time of need. He can carry you through any test or trial. Hold to “His” unchanging hand and keep the faith. Prayers for your husband and may you both find peace in the midst of this storm. Hugs….
Oh, Becca you and your family are in my prayers!
Hugs,
Michaela
Becca, I just love your blog! What talent you have and thanks so much for sharing your talents w/us. My prayers and thoughts are w/you and your family and especially your husband. I too am going thru a tough time w/my husband John too. I’ve seen this wonderful healthy man quickly go down hill w/his psoriatic arthritis. It’s tough leaving him @ home while I have to go to work because we need health insurance benefits. We are among the many who have been turned down by the private insurance companies because of pre existing conditions and forced to work and not being able to care for my poor husband. I do get to go home and spend my lunch hour w/him before I have to return to work. This week was the toughest for him and I ended up staying home w/him 3 1/2 days because he was extremely ill. Take care and my prayers are with you Becca.

Becca, you always create such beautiful art.
Sometimes crafty distractions are the supplemental therapies that will get you through the toughest of times. I can relate greatly.
Please know that I too will be praying for you and your DH! Hang in there sweetie!)
Just wanted to let you know that you are both in my thoughts and
prayers.
As always, your site is an inspiration!
You have amazing talent!
I love your dress box. I think that being creative while being under stress is a good way to handle the stress. It probably helps you to take your mind off the stress for awhile. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if everyone could handle stress this way?
Prayers for both you and John while you are going through this difficult time. I hope things get better soon.
Gentle hugs to you and your husband John.
Belated birthday wishes too.
Your inspiration and creativity are endless, thank you for showing us how to make this beautiful card.
Your friend will undoubtably cherish it.
LOL Eileen
