I love this sentiment and I can’t let you go on without reading it to you . . . he he . . .
the creative is the place where no one else has ever been
you have to leave the city of your comfort
and venture into the wilderness of your intuition
you can’t get there any other way
only by taking risks
and by not quite knowing what you’re doing
what you’ll discover will be wonderful
what you discover will be yourself
How inspiring is that? I muse all the time that I should leave the city of my comfort. When I’m actually able to do it, I’m often amazed at the results. It doesn’t always feel good but I guess when you do it enough, it’s another step up the ladder and it becomes not quite so scary.
I’ve had this set for a bit and have many times mulled over exactly how to get it down on paper with the feel I wanted. The stamp designer is none other than Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous and the set is available at Stamper’s Dream. I wanted to include the bird on whatever I came up with so I did the Cracked Glass technique to add a little bit of interest to the coloring. The paper is one of my current favorites (lol it’s about 100 miles south of my city of comfort) called Mariposa from DCWV, it’s absolutely dreamy. I stacked two of my very favorite ribbons and I’m sure you can guess that they are smack dab in the middle of my city of comfort. Hmmm . . . I think I’m having a thing for teal.

As you sit down to create today, think about leaving the City of Your Comfort. You might find something out about yourself or take yourself down a new path!
Visiting your blog is like a daily treat, thank you so much for everything that you do :)
This is absolutely AMAZING!! I love that saying and I think I need to frame that in my creative space so I can have a reminder to push my limits.. really extend the boundaries and become “creative” — OH, and by the way, I have that Mariposa paper as well and am in LOVE with it! I recently created a birdhouse gift box using it! *Ü* Thanks so much for all your wonderful inspiration. I love coming here for inspiration–you never disappoint. {{HUGS}}
Becca – what a beautiful card. Lovely – and perfect- sentiment. I do need to be constantly reminded!! Thank you for sharing your beauty with us!
I look forward to your site everyday-you are such an inspiration! I am waiting to see a tutorial on the paper flower you did when you revisited some of your 2009 favorites!
Becca,
THAT is simply stunning.
Really like the cracked glass technique you added.
I do that often in my cards.

Hi Becca,
Another beautiful project today. You never disappoint us :o)
I am really taken with that sentiment. I need it framed right above my work space – isn’t it just perfect?
Hugs, Candy
Your card is gorgeous – I really love the sentiment – beautiful!
Good evening, Becca – a very striking card and challenging sentiment!
Becca, Your creativity is totally amazing! I am totally addicted to your blog! TFS!
You talkin’ to me?!! Yesterday, I told my hubby that I’ve been letting my comfort zone shrink. I don’t go out of the house. Now I no longer have lung issues, but a Vitamin D deficiency. No sunlight? Then you hit me with this saying. It’s perfect. I need to hang it on my wall or maybe my forehead! I think you best send me that card! LOL! TFS!
Becca, thank you so much for this card with wonderful sentiment. I really needed to hear that right now as I’m struggling with a plan for some swap cards. I came here looking for inspiration and I got it!
LOVE that sentiment and look forward daily to seeing what wondrous creations you have to share. Thank you so much for sharing your creativity with us all.
Becca –
A lovely sentiment and and equally lovely card. I adore what you’ve done with the bird.

that sentiment is amazing…as is your card. Thanks, Becca!
A beautiful card, Becca!!!!
Oh Becca, I just love this! Beautifully done, my friend! Thanks so very much!
Beautiful card as always and what a wonderful challenge to creativity the sentiment is!
This is soo pretty! I love your little birdie embellishment! Sweet touch!
The sentiment brought tears to my eyes. Your card is so lovely. It actually IMHO! looks like it was made especially for the sentiment. It needs to be hung in your craft room, or put on an easel for easy enjoyment. My muse goes on constant vacations, so when I can make something out of my comfort zone, I know I had it in me all the time. Maybe that is why my muse goes away. TFS!!! : D
Great saying, you used it well and love the cracked glass on the bird!
This is sooooooooooooooo beautiful.
I love that you are as punch happy as me…lol…however you keep posing me with challenges to find the punches you have used. Where did you find the EK Scroll punch and is it new?
