Hi there friends, this isn’t my normal blog post, I do have a card to share at the end of my long post, but more than that, I have a story to share. If you like, feel free to skip to the end of all the blah, blah, blah if it’s too much to read or if you are not an animal lover – I did promise that I would share what’s been happening in my life lately and I do tend to get long winded, lol. By the way, this is Bailey, isn’t she as cute as a button?
Meet Bailey.
A little over 8 years ago, my daughter moved out, got a roommate and Bailey. The very last thing she needed while in college and working two jobs was a dog! The room mate situation soured and daughter had to move back home where I already had a house full of people and two dogs. Knowing I couldn’t take on another dog with everything going on in our lives, we put an ad in the paper and found a good home for Bailey. Those days were sad. As it were, three months went by and the new owner called and said he didn’t want her any more. Something about how that all happened made me know that Bailey belonged with us – her place was in our family. It’s a good thing because she brought us more blessings than I ever expected…
Bailey Blessed Us.
Bailey, copilot and companion to John while he was sick and could only sit in a chair.
Bailey, rescuer when she found him laying on the floor twice and came to alert me.
Bailey, protector when someone was lurking outside our house; they heard ‘that’ bark.
Bailey, soother and my companion when I was burdened with grief.
Bailey, special dog in our eyes – her nature was one of service and that was never lost on us.
Bailey is Missing.
So my daughter moved ten hours away and Bailey went with her. While I was sad, I knew that Bailey would protect her and even though she was extremely skittish around people, when put to the test she would defend her territory. Bailey went missing on Thanksgiving Day.
Looking for Bailey.
I’ve taken the long drive to the mountains twice for two weeks of putting up signs, and helping with the hunt while DD was at work. Most days found me states away at home, texting back and forth with daughter, trying to figure a strategy on how to find Bailey. With the help of a “Pet Detective” we learned how dogs (especially shy ones) act when they are surviving on their own. He also encouraged us that if we were willing to do the hard work, we had a very good chance of recovery (most people don’t recover their animals because they simply give up). Week five and still no recent sightings and then two lucky calls that she had been seen in a wooded area on the interstate two days in a row but would run from anyone who tried to approach her. We put still life cameras in the woods around the mile marker where she had been seen, feet from a busy interstate. We left food, her favorite squeaky and things with our scents on them, in the woods for her. Over the three weeks that we tracked her she came know that food would come every day and this kept her from leaving the area. We despaired when the temperatures dropped to below zero. But, then the next day when the cameras were checked, she was still coming by for food. That’s our girl – she survived!! Over the last week we introduced a humane trap into the area and got her used it and baited it with hard to resist food. Last Saturday, as night fell in the mountains, we captured our sweet girl and she is back home.
60 Days is a Long Time.
60 days of restless sleep, 60 days of sign-making and repairing signs, 60 days of my heart leaping every time the phone rang, 60 days of watching the clock every day when my daughter would text me she was going into the woods alone, 60 days of hoping that Bailey would not go near the road (again), 60 days where friends may have thought we were crazy, then the best day ever!!
Right Way, Right Time.
In retrospect, what we went through taught me a lot and in my heart, I always know there is a lesson to be learned in every little and big crisis entered. I’m so glad we had a great outcome . . . I felt that we owed a superhuman effort to this dog that happened to be in our lives in just the right way and always at the right time. I watched a beautiful young woman, bouyed by faith and armed with a determination that leaves me in awe; I was afraid she might give up. I learned that’s just not how she rolls. Blessed with this discovery, this sweet soul is a soldier I always want in my corner. Long story, I know. We’ve been giddy all this past week! I have a package going to her on Monday so I didn’t want to miss the opportunity to tuck this little card in with everything else.
I reached for a new set from JustRite (my set :-) called Ribbon and Swags – the sentiment said exactly what I wanted to say after this whole event. I also used Spellbinders Fancy Framed Tags Three, Spellbinders Classic Ovals SM and Spellbinders Exquisite Labels Eleven.
See you tomorrow, I have a tutorial queued up and ready to go with a cardset/box ensemble!
Wonderful ending to a sweet sweet story of this delightful animal. They are a comfort to us in difficult times and when we’re bored and need to play. They are called companions because that is what they are. I have had 2 of these critters who have filled up that special spot in my life, too. The card today is gorgeous and gives me all kinds of ideas to launch out there! Thanks for sharing your charming story!
Becca, this is the best ending ever!!!!
So glad you never gave up. Poor Bailey, how frightened she must must have been.

Yet another beautiful card! And, what an inspirational story! Thanks for sharing!
Wow! Such devotion just makes me cry and so happy for the outcome. We lost our 13 yr old dachshund just last Friday after 4 months of fighting a blood disease. It involved 2 meds a day at different times and meant no vacations or over nights for us while she needed constant care. When it was time we let her go and the fight was over but we would have done anything humanely to save her. The vet said we did more most would have done and yet for us as with you it was not an option. We owed it to her to do all we could. I’m just so happy for you!
Love the story and your card – wow – so heartening.
Good wishes and God Bless
Phil
WOW, what an inspiring story. I would search high and low for my girl, Cricket, she too means the world to us, amazing how attached we get to our pets. How lucky your daughter is to have such a caring and talented mom! May you two continue to be Blessed by Baileys love.
Your card is perfect!
OMG Becca … I was holding my breath until I got to the sweet end to this story! I am SO THANKFUL you were able to get Bailey back! She’s beautiful and I’m sure glad to be back with her ‘family’.
Your card is as beautiful as every card you make but the sentiment is PRECIOUS and PERFECT! God Love Ya for sharing this with all of us!
HUGS from Akron, OHIO
When I saw Bailey’s picture, my heart leaped, as she looks just as my Buster looked a few years back. We had a hard start, but he saw me through cancer treatments, has protected me, been faithful in every way, takes his job so seriously, and we are just stuck with each other. I held my breath as I read your story, and my heart leaped when you said you found her again. So glad you didn’t give up, followed your heart, etc. And the perfect card. Just beautiful!!!!!
Thank you Becca for sharing that sweet tale with us. It proves that if you will just continue to have FAITH and Courage plus lots of prayers, that we can know that our lives will be blessed! So glad you found your Bailey! What a beautiful card and I know it will bring tears to your daughters eyes!!
Your story brought tears to my eyes (a rare thing for me). I am so pleased she was found as our dogs give so much and do deserve to the same respect and treatment in return.
Wow what a time of it you all have had! So glad Bailey is safe!
What a fabulous story! So glad you found her! Oh…and I love the card too!
OH what a perfect sentiment for your daughter after perservering with you in searching for Baily! CONGRATULATIONS on the reunion!
Becca, Thank you for sharing this story. What a nightmare this must have been. I am so glad your story had a wonderful outcome. My daughter is also very attached to her dog, so I understand completely how tramatic this must have been. I agree, the sentiment you choose was perfect!
Beautiful card. Even more beautiful story. Dogs get under your skin and become part of the family. And it seems this one is meant to be a member of YOUR family.
So, so happy that Bailey is safe at home. Pets are members of the family and when they(dogs) go missing even if it’s for a few hours can cause great distress. Your families resilience certainly has paid off and I certainly hope that Bailey continues to bring you all great joy!
Thank you for sharing this beautiful loving story.. a story that has turned out with a happy ending. I am a dog lover and have lost some wonderful friends..every time we lost one of our friends we would say that we could not get another…but than we would see these beautiful eyes and wagging tail and we had to say okay..they are family they feel grief, joy, laughter they see tears and hear cries of sadness… they are there to understand and sit by your feet and know that one is hurting. Bailey is family not just for you and your daughter but for all families out there that love and care for our special FRIEND.. Becca may you, your daughter and Bailey receive all the blessings from up above..Thank you for making my day to remember all our friends. God be with you all.
I enjoyed reading your story about Bailey. Even though I don’t have any pets and grew up being afraid of dogs, I admire the love and compassion you have for Bailey.
I am so glad you have her back! What a blessing! You never gave up on searching for her!! It’s like when God doesn’t give up on us!! — Perfect card to send! Blessings,
so glad your bailey is back. she looks like my old soul friend mahogany. she appeared on a friends sisters yard and when we picked her up she was looking out the window, let out a big sigh and began drooling on my dh. she was with us until she was about 15 which is up there for a lab. good to know also what your daughter is made of and how dedicated she is. wonderful story, with a wonderful end.
Oh Becca what a wonderful story, Im so happy for a good end result, I was a little scared for a moment. Ive lost my little girl for a day and I was frantic but never gave up looking. Your card is beautiful and the sentiment so touching.
Thanks for sharing.
Becca, thank you for sharing your beautiful story. You and your daughter just DID NOT give up. So inspirational!! And your card and its sentiment are also beautiful. Wishing you many more happy years with Bailey!
You know Becca you are such a sweet lady and such an inspiration.
Thank you for your sharing
Dear Becca
What a wonderful ending to a scary, heart-wrenching story. I could do nothing but cry while reading this. God has not only blessed you and your daughter with dear Bailey, but with perseverance, determination and strength. Most folks would have given up after a couple days. Bailey surely is blessed and walks in the light. A tender story and a beautiful card. You always share more than just your talent and creativity; your faith shines thru, as well.
What a wonderful heartwarming tale, especially given the happy ending. You are not alone in your love for and dedication to your four-footed family member. There are more of us out here! I would have expended the same effort if she were mine. I always feel that my pets (kitties at the moment) give so much to me and enrich my life so beyond measure that there isn’t much I wouldn’t do to reciprocate. Welcome home, Bailey! Please relay my pets to her. Barb
Loyalty knows no boundaries. A beautiful story and the sentiment is the best and I am going to purchase it.
Love from OZ xo Rene
Oh my goodness! What a story that brought tears to my eyes after the Bailey Blessed Us paragraph! I’m so proud of your daughter’s perseverance, and yours too. Our sweet doggies are such a part of our lives and deserve anything we can do to save them. Our sweet Maltese, Teddy, blew his back out in early 2011. We were about to replace our 10-year-old computer. We had to spend a lot of $$ to have his back surgery. We almost re-named him Mac! LOL! Thank you for sharing your sweet story with us all. Oh, of course, your card is so beautiful, as always!
Awww, What a touching story. Becca, I really trusted you on this one. I held my breath until I knew she was safe. Thank goodness for that pet detective. And how richly you were rewarded for your perseverance!
Oh, I so love a happy ending!!
God Bless You for not giving up!! So glad Bailey is back in loving arms. If only we had more pet owners that were like you!!
PS: I can just picture this as a Super Bowl commercial. Touching scenes of the family’s concern. Scenes showing the painstaking efforts you all extended to find her. And of course, that tear jerker ending when she’s safe in her family’s arms. Sigh!
SO GLAD YOU GOT HER BACK. SHE IS A MEMBER OF THE FAMILY. ALWAYS THOUGHT YOU HAVE TOO MUCH ON YOUR PLATE. YOU GO TO GREAT LENGTHS TO DO THE RIGHT THING. XXX
BRILL CARD TOO WITH GREAT SENTIMENT XXX
So glad you got your precious Bailey back! What an adventure she has had and given you in your life. She won your hearts and you have proven your love for her, just as she proved hers to you. God bless you all, and what an amazing card your daughter is receiving! She is blessed to have you for her mother.
Definitely an animal lover here!!! Such and sad but sweet story, so glad she is home where she surely belongs with her family. And such a lovely card for DD. I would have been bonkers with one of my babies lost!!
Loved it! Thanks for sharing, we all need this warm story in this day and age!
Your card is as moving as your story. So glad Bailey is returned to you. How fortunate for all.
Becca, thanks for sharing this uplifting story. Bailey definitely belongs in your family & was meant to be there. I am so thankful ya’ll found her & that she stayed safe. She’s a survivor and maybe this was a test to just see how much your family loves her????She sounds like a very lovable friend, and while I know it must have been heartbreaking while she was gone, there has to be a reason this all happened. Your daughter is stronger for her determination to find her friend, and just so happy to hear there was a joyful ending. Loved the card too. I’m liking these new S/B. Ah, the prices have gone up quite a bit, so will have to buy slowly when they finally become available. Attended an Heirloom stamp show in Lawrenceville, Ga today, but alas, no new ‘schtuff’. Thanks for sharing, Happy Sunday, God Bless.
I am glad you got Bailey back safe and sound, I am a animal lover too.Lovely card for your daughter.
Becca ….the same thing happened to us…we raise dachshund and have for about 35 years….we had a litter of puppies in 2012 in the spring….we usually sell them pretty quick but occasionally we will keep one a litte longer than usual…..that is what happen…but finally some one bought her……I thought about her a lot in the next three weeks….for some reason…and as you said it was a sad time because I had gotten attached……Ana apparently so had puppy…..the owner called us and said it was not working out as they worked all the time and really did not have time for a dog….plus the puppy was very nervous and was having accidents in the house…when she left us she was doing very good with potty training….I told the lady I would take her back….as if I needed another dog…..but when she brought her back to us she was so happy to see us she was out of control…..but never fear we were very happy to see her also…..it took me a few weeks to get her back on her track with potty training but she remembered and we only had a couple of accidents in the house…..she has been such a joy in our lives….my husband loves her as much as I do……and we had a wonderful event this past fall…..Lucy had her own litter of puppies and she was such a good mother…don’t know what we would do without her….my daughter made the comment that Lucy was supposed to be ours all along….that’s why she came back to us….it was meant to be!
Dear Becca, I think perhaps Bailey knew you would not give up on her, and that’s why she didn’t give up. Love the card too.
Margaret(Scotland)
Thanks for sharing this story with us! It’s so incredible and it could have turned out differently had you not been as determined as you are! Obviously Bailey belongs in your family most definitely! So very happy that you were able to bring her home!
Becca,
This is a great story. I am so glad that you found Bailey. As a child, our dog, Sam, went missing for a several weeks and we were devastated. I never wanted to talk or play, which is the exact opposite of my personality. We looked for him, everyday. Then, one day, he just showed-up on the front porch, all dirty and happy. We were blessed to have him back and we spent a lot more time with him after he returned. I miss him. I’ve had a couple more dogs since Sam, but he will always hold a special place in my heart. Blessings and joy to you and your daughter. I’m s glad Bailey is back!
P.S. The card is perfect!
So happy you and Bailey found each other again, like you I would have moved heaven and earth , if that had been my boy Neo, animals are as precious to us as our family, and when they hurt we hurt…your card for your daughter is Beautiful and the sentiment perfect…
Hugz Kath…xx…
Becca, this is such a wonderful story and I knew right from the start that you would not give up and that Bailey would be found and brought back where she belongs! Such great lessons here ! Your card is beautiful as is Bailey and family
Becca,
What a great story. We have a yorkie that is 18 yrs. old and has doggie dementia. He no longer remembers that he always slept with us, or how to play. He is also now blind and doesn’t hear very well. Just this morning we had him at the vet as we thought he was having a small seizure, but apparently not. We make sure we hold him at various times during the day so he knows he is not alone. At night, his bed goes on the floor beside our bed so we can hear him if he has to get up.
Our pets truly are our family. We are trying to prepare ourselves for the time when we have to let him go,but we know he has had a wonderful life and we have done all we can to take care of him when he has needed us the most.
Glad Bailey is back and safe.
Becca, I’m not a dog person. Stems back from when my brother was attacked by a German Shepherd, we knew well, when we were kids. I read your story anyway and loved it. Brought tears to my eyes! Love the card you made your daughter and I know she will, too! You both are incredible people from your story! So glad you have Bailey back and hope you have many happy years together! Big Hugs!!
Dear Becca,
As I read your story my eyes filled with tears.
Tears of sadness, tears of despair, then tears of joy.
Bailey is a survivor just like those that love her.
May Bailey continue her journey with you for many more years to come.
Hugs,
What a wonderful story. Thank God you were that persistent that Baily was found and is now home. Thank you so much for sharing.
So glad that Bailey is back home with his family. They truly become one of the family. Always enjoy seeing your beautiful cards.
Becca, your story brought tears to my eyes and I know exactly what you mean! I am an animal “nut” as evidenced by my 4 legged family. I have a chocolate lab (Maggie) and we just recently got a white lab puppy (Bailey). They are so loyal and protective and they seem so laid back and sometimes lazy but when the going gets rough they are right there beside you exactly when and how you need them! I am so glad you got your missing family member back and that she is safe and sound.
Becca, I have no words for the beauty of that story and the awesomeness of how God continues to work in all our lives. You do not have to be any particular religion, all you have to do is BELIEVE. Faith and prayer always goes the distance! I am so very happy for all of you, especially Bailey! She is a beautiful girl and I can tell all she really wants is to have a home and to please those around her. Give her a big hug from an old grandma who cannot resist a beautiful girl, inside and out!
Lots of love,
M
OMG, that is truly amazing,I have just got in from work, and read your blog and can’ t stop crying, shame that I live in th UK or else I whould have been out there looking with you and your amazing daughter.I read your blog all throughout your husbands illness, god bless you and your family xx
POOR BAILEY!!!!!!!!!!!! :( To me, it would be like loosing a CHILD!!! I’m SOOO HAPPY for you & your daughter that Bailey came home! She MUST HAVE been SCARED TO DEATH! We have a little dog that came to us from out of the woods that surround our home—-she was little & SOOO STINK’IN CUTE! I can ONLY IMAGINE how scary it was for her! There are LARGE WILD ANIMALS in our woods! I’m SOOOO HAPPY for your family being reunited!!!! GOREOUS CARD TOO!!! I’m SURE your daughter will TEASURE IT!!!!!!!!!!!:) You NEVER KNOW just how strong you are, UNTIL you go through something like this!
Happy perfect ending and a perfect card! Glad Bailey is safe and back where she belongs.
Bravo for all of you. Everyone involved recognized the value of being together and kept at it. I am so happy for you all; especially for dear Bailey to be back with her loved ones. This took a lot of courage, determination and the absolute belief that she would be found. Bravo! I love your card too. Perfect for the happy conclusion .
What an amazing story. How wonderful you were finally able to get your sweet Bailey back. Your card is gorgeous.
Thank you for sharing Bailey’s story. I think our “four-footed angels” are sent to us to give us the extra love and support we need. Countless stories are told of their love and devotion. I am so glad that Bailey was there for you and your daughter, and that you rescued her when she was so frightened and alone. You’ve also raised a remarkable daughter, full of determination and steadfast in her love for her friend, Bailey. Many blessings to you and your daughter, and an extra hug sent for Bailey, for being there when you needed her.
The card is lovely, as always, and I can’t imagine a more perfect sentiment!
Hugs,
Sandy
What a lovely story. I have a grand doggie named Bailey and he is the love of my life. My heart would break if he or any other of the doggies went missing. Lovely story, lovely card, lovely person.
Oh, Becca…I was almost afraid to read to the end. I was afraid that after such a hopeful start that the end would not be happy. Imagine my joy when I read that you have your sweet Bailey back! I’m so happy that it turned out so well. I hope that she is recovering from her ordeal and is happy to be back with her people. I’ve got a friend who is a dog lover, as am I. Every dog in her life has been a “found” dog. She goes to great lengths to find their original owners, usually unsuccessfully. On rare occasions when she’s found them she’s been told that they don’t want the dog back. Just don’t understand some people. Thank you for telling your happy, happy story!
R/
I’m so glad that there was a happy ending to your story! Bailey is obviously meant to be a part of your family. The trials and tribulations of searching for her will have strengthened the bond between you and your daughter even more and I’m sure she won’t forget your diligent help – or your stunning card!
That is a beautiful heart warming story of faith and love. God Bless you and your family. Susan
Beautiful card and beautiful dog.
Wow Becca, that is an awesome story. I am really, really glad that it’s got such a happy ending. Do you know why Bailey went missing on Thanksgiving? I really admire you and your daughter, never giving up on her.
I know what it’s like, my cat went missing shortly after me leaving the marital home. Whilst I knew that she wouldn’t go back there, I still went back and talked to neighbours etc, trying to find her. Also, obviously looked all over my new neighbourhood. I heard her crying one evening when I set off my search for her after 3 weeks, having given up all hope. Had to climb over a solid wooden door which locked the backyard. The people living in the house weren’t in to ask and there is no way that I would leave her a moment longer, alone and obviously in distress. Turns out she had been run over and tried to make it back to mine, but then got locked in the back a few houses away from mine. What a glorious day that was for me – elation on a grand scale. Even though Fey had a broken pelvis, she was tucking into her food and did nothing but purr snuggled up in her bed.
God bless you all and Bailey – shame on the guys that first took Bailey and then returned her!!
Hugs, Rose
The story was not too long, it was just right for this animal lover. And I am so glad that my namesake is well and back with those who love her and never gave up. Animals have such a special way of comforting us. When my father died in 1991, I received the news about 1:00 a.m. I was lying in bed with quiet tears streaming down my face, my beloved cat was lying on my chest and she would reach up and stroke my face. That is such a pleasant memory of a special cat who is now gone on, but she will forever hold a dear spot in my heart. Oh, and I love the card.
I’m so glad you persevered and were able to get Bailey home, safe and sound. Right where she belongs. I am an animal lover and it warms my heart that this story had such a great outcome. My sister just got her little dog back after she went missing over 3 years ago!! She was chipped and the animal shelter called with the good news that she was found!
Thanks for sharing your wonderful story.
Blessings to you and your family, including Bailey
A very touching story Becca, I adore the picture of Bailey. I’m so happy with the amazing ending to your tale. I would have done the same thing for my Baxter! He’s been at my side for the last 6 1/2 years. A very beautiful card for your daughter, she’ll treasure it!
Oh My, you are wonderful and your faith and persistence brought Bailey home. I am so pleased for Bailey and you, you can be in my corner any time. Carol
Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful story. I am so glad it was such a happy ending. Dogs are so special.
Glad to see Bailey has returned to the home she loves. I’m sure you are thrilled that those 60 days are over & I’m pretty sure Bailey is too. P
lease give Bailey a hug & a cookie from my fuzzy & myself.
Hi Becca
I just loved your blog about Bailey. She is so beautiful you are so lucky to have her. They give love freely and they are loyal and caring I just love dogs they bring such joy to our lives. I glad you found her.
God Bless
Glenys
Hi Becca,
What a wonderful story to share with us. Our pets are like our children except they have two extra legs. I am so happy your story had a happy ending. Somehow though, I think this is just an even sweeter beginning.
Hi Becca, Just read your story and am so glad to hear Bailey is back home safe and sound. I am sure she is glad you didn’t give up. As an animal lover (3 cats) I know what you were going thru. Good to hear there was a happy ending. Love the card you made also, and I always love all your creations. You are so talented, thanks for sharing. Have a great week
Beautiful story Becca and thanks for sharing it with us. Like Trisha, I had memories of a treasured pet leaking from my tear ducts too. Pets play such a special role in our lives and are meant to be with us for a reason. Bailey is gorgeous!
I am not an animal person probably because I have been bitten twice by a dog and that makes me a little skittish but this story touched my heart. I am so impressed with the perseverance of you and your daughter and even more so of your dog. That dog does belong with your family and I am so happy that you she survived her ordeal and you got her back.
OH! I am just sobbing with happiness!! I would die if my doggies got lost!! How difficult this must have been for you all. I absolutely rejoice that darling Bailey is back with you. And what a wonderful card to celebrate the last 60 days of fear and uncertainty. May God bless you with many joyous years ahead with little Bailey!
What sweet little dog, and what a wonderful family she has. Most people would have given up, but you have shown true love and commitment to each other. A heart warming story! Blessings to you all.
I am so glad you found Bailey. I have always had animals in my life too, so I understand everything you said.
I hope Bailey is with you and your daughter for many more years!
Your card is gorgeous as always!
Dear Amazing Grace
What a moving story about Bailey. I can’t tell you how happy I was to know that you and your daughter found Bailey finally. As I was reading your story I was secretly hoping that it did not have a sad ending. I wouldn’t have been able to hold back my tears. I, too, have a dog and am a dog-lover so I know the love you are talking about. Praise God Bailey was found!!!
Wonderful uplifting story. Thanks so much for sharing!
What a wonderful ending to such a sad story for Bailey. I cried all the way thru it, but tears of joy at the end. Keep bailey protected forever and ever.
I have five and do not know what I would do without them. They are more loyal than a lot of people and how the human race can be so cruel to them I will never know. God Bless you Becca for not giving up.
My heart dropped when I read “Bailey is missing”. It soared and I cried when I read you had recovered her. Becca, I’m a dog lover of the first order, and I would crumble inside if Wally or LuLu ever went missing. However, I would go to the ends of the earth to get them back. I didn’t know there was such a thing as a pet detective, and there probably isn’t in our small town. I would import one, if necessary. This was the most amazing and heartwarming story. Why am I not surprised you raised a daughter with your heart? This is the most beautiful and perfect card for her. She’ll cry when she receives it, but happy tears this time. Bless both your hearts for your perseverence!
What a nice story and an even better outcome. Things really do happen for a reason.Glad to hear your good news.
Becca,
Thank you for sharing your story. I am so happy that Bailey is safe at home. We adopted from the SPCA and our little Larry is also shy and skittish. I don’t know how anyone cannot love a dog…they give 100x more than they get…they love you…they don’t care if your hair is combed, or if your clothes match, or if you have an iPhone or a flip phone…they just love you. What could be better?
The story is a very inspiring one with a twist to never give up. As for the card it is beautiful in every way. The words are perfect and the paper is gorgeous. Along with the embellishments and the beautiful gold diecuts, they all go together so well.
I am so happy to hear that Bailey is back home safely. It is so scary when an animal, our friend and companion (and I consider mine part of my family–I always say some people have 2 legged kids, I have 4 legged kids)
is missing. So glad you had a happy ending. Note to Bailey—behave yourself and don’t give anyone another scare like that!!
Great story! Even though the detective said it was a matter of not giving up, it was a true miracle! Congratulations to you all. And the sentiment on this pretty card, goes perfectly with the outcome!
Your story made me cry. Sniff, sniff. It’s been awhile since you have mentioned John.
Bailey is a real trooper for sure.
I was watching FB not long ago and there was a story about a lost dog. The owner had learned that if there was an article of clothing or something that the dog would recognize, pillow, toy etc. was left at the place where the dog had disappeared, they would most likely return to the spot and wait to be found. I would love to know if this is true. Just a thought for others and the “next one”.
Thanks so much for sharing. Love and hugs.
Oh Becca I am so glad you got Bailey back. I was almost scared to read your post all the way through. Big hugs!
Oh Becca what a beautiful and moving story thank you for sharing. You are awesome and bless you and yours for caring to find Bailey. It takes very special people to care so much and take time searching for a lost dog.
Your cards are beautiful and caring the same as you Beautiful and Caring.
Thank You
Judy
Oh, Becca I’m so happy for you and DD that you got Bailey back, almost makes me want to cry for joy for you. They are so helpless, if only they could talk.
I’m sure you daughter will be very grateful for this lovely card!! Waiting with baited breath to see tomorrow’s tutorial. Have a wonderful night.
Hugs,
Mstgane
Ann
Your story brought tears to my eyes. You are truly blessed. Thank-you for sharing.
Becca, I just sent this posting to two friends who loved dogs and don’t craft. :)
I did not know about finding lost dogs. What a testimony to continue to look for bailey for that long. At night I sometimes wake and I always reach down to touch my dog’s head to know she is right by my side of the bed. Thank you for sharing and thank you Lord for giving bailey back to his family. That is an example of how God goes to seek out His lost sheep.
What a wonderful story and determination and love. Thank you for sharing it with us. We are so glad you have Bailey back home with you!. What an amazing card you made as a tribute to Bailey!
So happy for you and yor family! I have two dog that teach me all the time! Thank you for writing this one for us!
Thank you for sharing. I’m so happy you found Bailey! You are a very special person to put in the effort but dogs (especially this one) can be so special too. Take care
So happy you have Bailey back home! Our pets are part of our families! Thanks for posting.

AMAZING STORY!!! Bailey is truly a special companion! And you and your daughter are obviously special people…I can’t imagine too many people going to the lengths you did to find her. I am so happy for your blissful outcome! Your card is beautiful and the sentiment is SO perfect!
So glad that Bailey is home. We love our pets more than some relatives! Ha ha. Our Hoover was one great lab. He even knew that our 13 year old had cancer before we did. Dogs are amazing and really mans best friend. tfs your amazing story. Luv your card as usual.

Hi Becca,
Loved this post.
I really do believe our heavenly Father brings certain animals into our lives because they are the only ones that can serve a special need we have.
I am so glad you have her back with you.
QUESTION: I am looking for that little oval gold die you used. I love the oval cuts, but noticed it also has a little scallop on the very outside edge. I have searched and searched for it but can’t find it.
Can you help? Sallyann
Edited by Becca to add:
So sorry for omitting this die, here is the link: http://www.spellbinderspaperarts.com/products/p-1298-elegant-ovals.aspx
Dogs have a way of finding the people who need them, and filling an emptiness we didn’t ever know we had.

Beautiful story Becca, pets are our family too.

What a lovely story and so glad it has a happy ending! My oldest daughter rescues and fosters Great Pyrenees until they find a forever home …and has 2 of her own. She takes in stray cats or ones no one else wants too – including a blind one from a shelter – and you know what would have happened to it if she didn’t take it! My other daughter has two black labs (brothers) that were abandoned during Hurricane Katrina and were transported to Canada when no one would adopt them together. They have been wonderful dogs. Dogs are a blessing when treated with love – just like humans!
So glad you didn’t give up on Bailey. What a great ending to your story. You guys must have been sick looking for her. Pets are such a wonderful treasure!
A beautiful card and a beautiful story.
Thank you so much for sharing your story.i just lost my 14 yo lab told age. Who had breast cancer at the same time I did. I would give my life for my dog. Happy you were able to find her. Where is she now an hw is she. Blessings to you
Oh, I’m so happy that Bailey is home safe and sound…….she is so lucky that ya’all didn’t give up on her! Thanks for sharing…..so glad that it was a happy ending!!! God bless!
So glad that you found your sweet Bailey, dear Becca!
What a story!!! I am soooo happy there is a wonderful ending! Dogs are so precious!! Thank you and your daughter for being so kindhearted and doing everything you could for Bailey to get back home. And what a wonderful program to have to help in pet rescue…Pet Detective. A big hug to them also! Bailey is adorable!!
Oh, what a wonderful story! I truly am in awe of your perseverance. As the mom of two fur kids, I can imagine what a frightful experience this has been and how relieved you and your daughter must be now that Bailey is safely home. :)
I love your story and my heart leaped for joy that you were able to find her through love and determination. I have a Golden Retriever that is so much a part of me and is always there through thick and thin. You and your family are truly blessed!
The beautiful card and sentiment are perfect! Thank you for sharing!!
Becca, I am amazed. I lost my black lab Chez..he had gone to a friend of my sister’s to stay because I could no longer keep him. It took that so called friend over 5 months to tell me he was missing and it took another 3 months to find him.
Somehow, he had traveled over 20 kilometers…along a busy highway…across a bridge…from one side of a lake to the other where he hung out at a logging camp. I still remember how I felt the day I got the phone call he had been found.
Thank you for sharing your Bailey story and reminding me of just how important a dog can be, especially in the life of someone who is desperately ill. You may remember that my husband has Myeloma as yours did. Things have been very difficult of late, and caring for our dog has become a tremendous burden. But your story reminded me that as tough as it’s been for my daughter and me to keep up with Kelly’s care, it’s worth it because she’s a great companion for my husband, especially during times like these when he’s struggling so much. I’m glad your story had a happy ending. (The card is great, too! I especially like the background paper.)
As I started to read this story, I was reading slowly and paying special attention to the tense that you were using. As I read on I hoped that it would not become evident that you were talking about Bailey in past tense. I am so glad that Bailey is home safe and sound. You and your daughter both have great determination. God looked out for Bailey and sent his special guardian angels to keep Bailey from getting too close to the streets. “Praise God from whom ALL blessings flow!”
I’m so very happy that Bailey is at home and that you and your family can begin to rest easy again. It’s hard to believe that there are some people out there that say “it’s just a dog”! A dogs unconditional love is something to be cherished as a gift from Our Lord. I hope Bailey recovers nicely from her adventure.
Awwww! I am overjoyed that you got Bailey back! I am also overjoyed that there is at least one other person who would do ANYTHING to get their baby back. If any of my babies were missing I would never stop my search to find them.
Such a beautiful card to affirm your daughter’s quest for Bailey.
Valerie
As I read your beautifully written story, I wept! I wept for you and your daughter and those 60 days worrying about Bailey. I wept for Bailey and the miracle of survival for all that time alone and the two truly special people who loved her enough to keep doing when it seemed impossible. I wept for the joy I knew you felt when she was back surrounded by the love that never gave up. Then…I looked at your amazing card, read the words and wept for my Mother who lost her husband of nearly 65 years six months ago and I wept for the grief I feel every day because I miss my Daddy so much. You have touched my heart today sweet Becca with your amazing grace that is reflected in the beautiful cards you share and inspire others with. I can only say “thank you” even though it will never be enough. God bless you Becca.
Thank you for sharing this wonderful story, and I too had tears in my eyes. Being Mum to two furbabies, I would also do anything and everything to find them, if they went missing, as they are such a huge part of our family, and give us such pleasure, love, and undying loyalty.
Just so glad your story had a happy ending, and you got Bailey back ok.
Thank you for your amazing story. There should be lots more people like you and your daughter. You didn’t give up! Touched my heart your story did. Our faith is a gift from the Lord and you and your daughter showed that over and over again. I am so happy that your lovely Bailey is home and that you and your daughter share a memory you will never forget.
I too love your card as it is just beautiful. God Bless you both.
Thank you for sharing this beautiful story – it actually brought tears to my eyes. I too had such a special companion, a cat named Beauregard. He would go to sleep every night lying beside me on my bed and put his paw in my hand for the whole night – very uncatlike behavior and it got so that I couldn’t sleep without this loving comfort he gave me for over 15 yrs. He disappeared two days before we moved to a new city. He was an indoor cat but I guess he got out when we were taking out boxes and was scared by the road workers that suddenly appeared to tear up the driveway beside our house. Many many hours were spent travelling around the densely populated area putting up signs and handing out flyers to every person we saw. Moving day came and still no Beau so every night of the next three weeks we made the long journey back to our old city to walk the streets and ask ask ask. We did have two different accounts from people over a mile away in one direction and a mile away in the other direction of our old house saying that they had seen him but he was shy and ran away. It gave me hope but the distance made it unlikely it was him. He was 15 years old – too old to suddenly fend for himself. I was heart-sick with grief and knowing the odds against ever finding him, Just about midnight when we had to give up once again for the night I got a call on my cell phone from a lady who told me that I had given her and her sister a flyer a few nights before whilst they were out on their very long nightly walk. They said they had just seen Beau 10 mins before about 3 miles from our old house and in yet another direction – we jumped in the car and headed to that location hoping against hope. When we got to the area there was no sign of him and of course it was pitch dark and at the edge of a forested area. But over those many many nights as Beau and I went to sleep paw in hand we had developed a secret language that only we two knew. I called a question into the dark in our language and there was a tiny answer in a tone of kitty disbelief. Beau came running out and flew up into my arms safe at last. He hadn’t given up hope on me finding him either. Many happy tears were shed as we drove up to our new house which now could become a home because Beauregard was in it. We slept hand in paw again that night and every night after for the next three years until Beau passed gently over the Rainbow Bridge one night at the ripe old age of 18. That was 5 years ago and not a day goes by that I don’t miss his wonderful soul and feel Blessed to have been loved by him. Being a Jewellery Designer I created a memorial pendant in his honour which I wear proudly and I wrote him a long poem about all he meant to me but the final lines sum it all up.
“Though we no longer walk together, we are never far apart, for the first time that I held you, you left your pawprint on my heart.”
Bailey sounds like another angel in a fur coat and Bless your Daughter (and you) for keeping the faith and making the huge effort to find him! I would love to send your daughter a copy of Beau’s pendant – A hand formed Sterling Silver heart with a filigree pawprint in the middle symbolizing their incredible bond.
You have shared so much of your talent and inspiration with me and so many others – I hope you will take this small token for your daughter in return. People like you and her add SO much to this world!
Thank you for sharing your story. Such perseverance deserved a happy ending. I also appreciate your tips for finding a lost pet. Your beautiful card says it all.
Great story – lovely doggie – hope Bailey knows where is bread is buttered now and doesn’t go on anymore solo doggie adventures. All’s well that ends well.
Becca, what a wonderful story…and what an effort you all put in to find your little buddy…I wish there were more owners out there like you. We know then that there would be less dogs for rescue and at the ASPCA…your story warmed my heart.
Oh my oh my Becca, what a heartwarming story. I was almost in tears, when I read it, but thanks god it all ended sooo well. It almost sounded like it was my dog, you were talking about, if he unfortunately hadn´t left this world just last fall, and boy I miss him, and I know exactly how you felt, and ofcause you couldn´t give up. You don´t give up on your other kids either right? So ofcause you don´t give up ever. I would do the same as you any time, that´s for sure. And boy I love the card, you made for your daughters parcel too, it just says exactly what I would say too. I love that sentiment, guess it´ll mean I have to go shopping again.
Hi Becca,
Such a heartbreaking story but with a fantastic ending, I am an animal lover and would not have given up either, your Daughter and yourself, must be so happy Bailey is back with you, I hope she never goes missing again. Animals give us such joy, I have two cats that I have had 13 & 14 years I would hat it if anything happened to either of them.
Katlin, your story touched me too, being a cat owner I know that bond and your poem is so beautiful, maybe you should sell those pendants.
Thank you for such wonderful stories Ladies, they bought tears to my eyes.
Love & Hugs

Wow! What lucky people you are to have had Bailey in your corner. And what a lucky little girl she is to have had y’all in hers. This is a wonderful story of determination came together with faith to find that very sweet dog. I’m always amazed at how some animals seem to just know when someone they love is sick. We have cats, Georgie is mine and old and cranky most of the time. Rebel is Don’s (rescued from drowning while on a fishing trip) She’s afraid of loud noises and her shadow, but will stand on her hind legs to fight if she needs to.
Don’s been undergoing cancer treatments since Oct. During his sickest time with the chemo and rad., she was by his side on the bed. And when he got up, she followed him where ever he went. Then the surgery, and she was right there again. She normally hates being petted when she’s trying to sleep. But she endured his petting, being patient until he tired of it. Petting and cuddling our furry friends is good for us. It lowers our bp and makes us feel better. So our little girl was right where she needed to be so they could find each other. She’s given us so much, and we are blessed to have been picked by her to be her humans. Thanks for this wonderful story and the opportunity to tell ours. The card is fab as always. Thanks again Becca, Hugs, Jess
Oh Becca! Thank you for your story. I read as fast as I could anxious to know if Bailey was found and home to her mom! So glad to hear she is safe-I have two dogs and they are my children so I know what stress you all were under. Good show on the rescue/recovery. Beautiful card too! Have a blessed day- all three of you.
Well done to you and your daughter what incredible determination. I cant understand why you didn’t share this story with your readers while you were going through this trauma the power of prayer from your many hundreds of followers certainly could have proved advantageous. Any way all’s well that ends well, so happy for you, your daughter and of course Bailey. I know your daughter will love her card, beautiful sentiment.
Warm hugs from South Australia
OMG! Your story of Bailey brought tears to my eyes. I’m So HAPPY you found her. Bailey and your family are so lucky she picked you as her family. Blessing to you. As a side note, I love, love, love all your creations. You have talent beyond anything I could even imagine. Thank you for sharing your story and your talent with us.

What a sad , happy, fantastic story. Thank you so much for sharing it!!! I can feel the love in your story. Glad Bailey is back home with love ones…………….the card is gorgeous also, and yes, the words are perfect!!! Big Hug and God Bless!!!
Hi Becky, I just knew you’d get her back, knew it in my heart with tears pouring down my face. Over 40 odd years ago our dog went missing only three weeks but the agony felt is unbeliveable. We were lucky too she had fallen down a hole in an derelict house and someone heard her barking. We were so happy to get her back. My love and hugs go to you and your family and of course Bailey. Love your cards too.

So glad your story had a happy ending!
Your card is beautiful as usual.
I’ve never known a time in my life that I wasn’t blessed by the companionship & unfailing love of dogs. I was SO happy to hear that your sad story had a happy ending, and I wish Bailey many more happy years with you & your family. Moreso, you must be commended for your commitment to getting her back. You’re the HERO, Becca, and I’m sure that Bailey will pay you back in spades for your efforts in the only way she can – love, protection, companionship.
Liefs Conny
I’m so happy your baby is back home!
With tears streaming down my face I felt the need to respond… Thank God for Bailey and I’m so glad she made it back to you and your family… We too have much love for our 4 legged fur babies… Life just isn’t the same without them. We know when they come into our lives we will not have them forever… they grow old and before we know it it’s time to let them go..
We lost our black lab Tazzie a year ago.. he lived a long and healthy life (13 years)..but I knew it was time to let him go. It was a very painful time for us. Then 6 months later Dozer came into our lives… he needed a new home at the age of 3 and God lead us to him… He too is a black lab… what a gift from heaven he is… So much like Tazzie they could have been father and son… He fills our lives with so much joy and happiness… We are blessed… Thanks for sharing your story Becca !!
Hi Becca thank you for sharing you beautiful story.Baily is a gift from God,when he give it never goes away….margie
So very happy you never gave up. Fur babies teach us peace, patience, and perseverance! They’re unconditional L O V E! They’re constant

Very heartwarming, and your daughter’s wonderful!
Well, so are you!
wow, what a wonderful story. What a happy ending. And what a beautiful card. Thanks for sharing.
It wasn’t till the end of you post that I realized I had been holding my breath. I am very glad to hear you got Bailey back. You wonder what animals think when they find themselves in strange areas and keeping up with the vigil made it so she wouldn’t wonder further. I love your card and definitely a great saying.
Oh, Becca this story is beautiful & so touching plus to have such a wonderful ending tells us a great deal about Faith, Strength, Perseverance, Courage & Love. God was certainly with you, your family & Bailey during those 60 days in a very special way. Thank you for sharing all that Bailey has done in so many ways to help the people he loves.
Thank you too for sharing your wonderful card & for designing & sharing your beautiful Justrite Stamps Hugs Dawn x
having spent some anxious hours recently searching for a friends missing dog I have some inkling of how you must have felt. congratulations on your tenacity and sticking with the search.
Your Bailey is like my dog named Booger. He serves us so many similar ways. He has the instinct of knowing when people are ill or in trouble physically. We rescued him when he was sick with a cold, thus the name Booger, hee hee. I would do the same for him as you did for Bailey. God gave us domesticated animals to fulfill a need as a working companion, comforter and protector. God has blessed you with a wonderful relationship with your daughter and a uniquely sensitive doggie child. Thank you for this wonderful story.
I’m sure John was keeping an eye on her until you were reunited, so happy to read your heartbreaking/heartwarming story.
What a heart warming story with such a happy ending. Your faith no doubt carried you through along with the love you feel for Bailey. She is a very lucky dog to have such wonderful owners. The card is beautiful too Becca. Thank you for sharing such a personal story with us and take care. xx
Becca you are so blessed and I have to thank you for sharing, with your blog friends, your inspirational story. God bless you and yours and that includes your beloved Bailey. I hope you have many happy years together. Loved the card!
As I sit here with tears streaming down my face, it’s with a happy heart that I send you thanks for sharing your wonderful, touching story. My love for dogs started as a young child and I know the agony you went through trying to regain your Beloved Bailey. The card is particularly precious, and as elegant and beautiful as your spirit. May Bailey live a long and happy life.
Yay and double Yay for you and Bailey! You and your daughter did not give up and eventually won the battle for Bailey (so worth it). Bailey is lucky to have such loving and caring dog Mom and Daughter in her/his life. I also am a dog Mom to 2 shih tzu girls and they are a huge part of our family. So glad the story has a happy ending.
Blessings to you, your daughter and Bailey too!
Oh Becca! You realise that you have reduced a hundred or so readers to a sobbing mess! What a story and what a wonderful outcome. You certainly went to great lengths to find Bailey and I’m so happy for you all that your patience and perseverance were so well rewarded.
One of our Bichons passed away last week, shortly before his 15th birthday. Like you, we have been very blessed to have shared our lives with such a gentle, loving, selfless creature, but for us and our (nearly 16) other Bichon, a huge hole has been left.
Dogs bring so much to our walk on earth and I hope that Bailey continues to enrich your lives and leave pawprints on your hearts.
Such a beautiful card too :)
Hugs

Love the story…you never gave up!!! Bailey looks just like my dog, Libby. Your projects are just so beautiful. Thank you for sharing!!!
Great story, Becca. Bailey sounds like she was as much a blessing to you all as you were to her. I am so glad you were finally able to find her. God is good! Hugs, Kelly
So glad to hear it turned out a happy ending! It is amazing how these little fur babies entwine themselves into our hearts and lives. When I had to move back to Ohio, it was really hard because my babies had never been on leashes and here we were on top of a mountain area barely able to see neighbors. Not only did leashes freak them out, they would barely walk on a leash let alone be able to handle themselves on a leash. My older is is to much of a prissy to ever think of chasing anything..however, the little boy is fascinated by the squirrels and chipmunks and even the deer that walk through the yard. After several years I still watch over him like a hawk when he is outside. It only takes one moment, a split second.
Well enough of that…the verse on the card is perfect!!! Card is lovely as always.
Take care
Jackie P
Praise God for the blessings!!!!!! Glad to have your baby safe again.
Great story of love and devotion and never giving up! Lots of messages there! The card is just lovely – should be framed to remember this great moment in your lives.
The love of our pets knows no boundaries. What an incredible story you shared.
Such a lovely story Becca, well done for persisting on your quest to find Bailey, she will be loved for sure. Beautiful card by the way xx
What a wonderful story! Thank you for sharing. I cried but smiled at the same time. What a testimony of never give up. Bailey is a very blessed dog for sure.
Great story for your family that you just never give up.
So happy for the happy ending!
This story gave me goosebumps, the strength and love and never giving up inspired me. Thank you for sharing something so special and endearing
As some others have said before me in their comments…
I sit here typing this with tears streaming down my face…What an AMAZING story…I am so happy that this has a happy outcome. I am a big dog lover…so this story has really touched me…thanks so much for sharing…and your card is so lovely!
Dear Becca, I read your story about Bailey hoping all the way that it would have a happy ending and I am so thankful and delighted for you that it did.
Seven years ago I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. I live on my own now and all though I have wonderful friends, my faithful dog Holly helped me through. Enduring the long weeks of treatment, Holly never left my side and would watch over me with her head on my knee while I slept in a chair. I know some people do not understand the love we have for our dogs but they are faithful, loving and ask nothing in return, other than shelter, food and a warm bed. I hope Bailey is now settled and happy. I love your cards Becca and your ideas and talent never fail to amaze me.
Thank you and much love x
am so glad bailey is home .It was sad to know she is not with you.. I have a grand dog as well so I understand.
Thanks for a beautiful story. Hope you have many more years to enjoy each other!
I have tears in my eyes writing this, what a wonderful outcome for a
wonderful dog. May you have many more years together.
Love all your cards. xxx
I love the story about Bailey. Dogs are very special people. They give their love and are there for you when you need them. They just seem to know. I am so glad you got her back!
Wow!! So happy to see Bailey made it back at home and enjoyed reading every word of this post. Demonstrates determination, never give up, and a love that is wonderful along with how others have a beautiful heart as well to not give up. I’m sure she will love this card and once again amazing story how Bailey survived 60 days and the story behind it.
Forgot to mention how beautiful this card is…stunning!!
Oh Becca I’m so happy you guys got Baily back.. We are dog lovers but also I understand the meaning of family and our pets are part of our family.
they do so much for us and this is the least we can do for them.
I hope Bailey is now content to stay home and enjoy the rest of her life with you guys. That’s where she’s meant to be.
Enjoy and Welcome home Bailey.
pat
I love happy endings and this one’s the best! Maybe Bailey was trying to get back to you and the home she knew. Makes me want to cry joyful tears! Beautiful card w/a beautiful meaning for a beautiful daughter!
so glad bailey is safe and sound. Due to your extreme determination and gods help she found her family again and I am so glad for all of you. Love your web page and although it is wet and cold here in the uk your cards always inspire me for projects of my own.
What a truly heartwarming story of love and perseverance. I’m so glad Bailey is home at last. What pride you must have in your daughter Bekka. Xx
What a wonderful and gripping story!! I read this like a suspense novel and rejoiced at the happy ending… I have to tell you, Becca, that I had no idea there were people out there who would go to such lengths to find their pooch AND I had no idea there were people who could help you by having such a great knowledge of dog behavior. How did you know to look for such a person? I hope I never need help along these lines to rescue my little Sara Lee but, if I do, I will be knocking on your door to find out where to go for help. Sharing your story about Bailey has given me and all your fellow crafty friends some information that could help a lot of people in a similar situation. As always, I am in your debt for your ability to share your experiences in life as well as your creativity.
What an amazing story and Bailey is definitely destined to be with your family xx it never ceases to amaze me the stories you hear about animals and their instincts and faithfulness and Bailey was repaid this by you and your daughter xx a wonderful heart-warming and emotional story – thank you for sharing it with us xx GailT xx
So happy for you all, I am sure she is thankful that you both didn’t give up on her. Your card is just perfect, the sentiment says it all, and love the gold accenting with the flowers!
Great story. Welcome home Baily
So happy for you all and that Baily is safely home. Beautiful card!
What a heart-warming story, Becca, and I immediately was thinking of how God uses every experience to teach us, if we are only willing to listen and learn. Right now that “we” I mention is me, and I am learning I need to be grateful for every lesson learned, and most of all am thankful we have a Savior who loves us so much. Clearly I have much to learn and pray I grow and can look back and see how hopefully God can use even me, and that my relationship with Him is strengthened.
Your daughter is a trooper, Becca–clearly she comes from quality stock!!! :) You are one special and wonderful Mom. Thank you for sharing in such a transparent manner your struggles and questions, for we all learn right along with you. I absolutely LOVE your cards and am in awe of how you come up with such neat ideas, and am certainly a huge fan and have been for several years–and send on your blog updates to 6 other stamping friends (some now get your blog updates themselves), and we leave a comment for each other on the cards on this blog and others–like “this would be an excellent one for…”, etc or “so THAT’S how this is done…:. You have amazing cards, but it’s your heart for your Lord and Savior, and how you take every opportunity for Him and to learn and to grow that really draws me in even more than your amazing cards. What a special combination!!! I’ve watched while God carried you through some unimaginable grief, and He showed you which paths to take, and He helped you bring projects like your bow-maker (bought it from ODBD), and your kits (I have each one), and your dies and stamps with JustRite (I’ve purchased many of your stamp sets and hope to buy that newest die at JustRite that I saw lately–it’s one die, anyway it’s on my list with the swags set..), and love your heart in your sentiments. I love buying your creations, knowing we share that same heart for God. THANK YOU for sharing how God has sustained you, and know you’ve encouraged me GREATLY, Becca. I live with a long-term pain disability that likely won’t go away, and sometimes all I can do is curl up on my bed and look at cards I hope to create. My heart sings when I see there’s a blog update from you–thank you so much, Becca.
You have much to be proud of in your sweet DD!!! But you already know that. And what an amazing Mom are you!!! Just know that when you share lessons you learn, that you are making sure that we too learn from those. I can see a devotional book in your future, dear Sister in Christ–just saying… something to consider, all in God’s perfect timing. “Amazing love, how can it be, That thou My God shouldst die for me”. Amazing Love and Amazing Grace. Love you, Becca!!! Joanne XX
This is truly wonderful. I had a lab go missing 15 years ago and I searched, put signs up and called everyone for 3 months. We never heard anything so I finally gave up. I love this story know its correct and deeply love my dogs. They are my best friend, confidant, sorrow, happiness and everything that a person could want.
Thank you for making a tear and uplifting the heart.
What a heartwarming story. Bailey is a furry, four-footed angel.
So wonderful. You, & daughter, will be blessed for your kindness to this lovely dog.
Oh Becca I know exactly how you felt with your dog, my brother brought a cat back from Hondorus with him in a Nov and we lost him at the border. We searched for over 2 weeks it was a three hour drive every time there and back but not giving up(long story) we found him and got him back. We even slept all night in a saw mill trying lol I am so glad for a good outcome!
Becca – I absolutely loved your story about Bailey. Thanks so much for sharing. I’m so very happy that she is home where she belongs. They are our babies and we will do anything for them and to protect them, just as we know they will do for us. Your story is extra special to me as I lost my Franky a week ago. A standard poodle, we had celebrated his 14th birthday the week before. He hadn’t been “sick” that we know of, so everything happened in less than a week. But I will forever treasure my time with him, and be greatful for the 14 years of unconditional love he gave me. While I know he was a major part of my life, you don’t realize how many interactions you have in your daily routine until they are gone. Give Bailey an extra hug for me.
What a great story showing God’s love, even for the animals in our life. I know Bailey is so happy to be home.
I am so thankful that you found Bailey. I would be the same way about one of my dogs. I had tears in my eyes as I read this. God is good and he knows are hearts and how we love our pets.
Oh, what a beautiful story! I am with you, I couldn’t/wouldn’t give up on my beloved 4-legged kids! I believe they give us the closest experience to God’s unconditional love that we can find while here.
Loved your story about Bailey. She is blessed to have such a caring family, as she has blessed you. Recently discovered your blog and am awed by your talent. Really enjoy your posts!
Amazing story. Welcome home Bailey.
Becca, what a wonderful post! I am amazed at both you and your daughter for all that work and for not giving up on that sweet dog! Love the darling card too, but this story just made my day!
Blessings,
Doni
*Wow*
that is the most beautiful thing I have read in a long time. Having three very special four legged friends I cam imagine how you felt when she was lost. But thanks to your love and faith a happy ending. Bless you all.
Awww, what a wonderful story! So glad it had a happy ending! I’ve been an animal lover all my life, and I would do anything for my 6 pooches. So glad you all stuck with it and were successful in getting Bailey back!
I am so glad you found her God is good to people and animal’s
I’m so glad that you found Bailey – it is truly amazing! Friends lost our beloved miniature poodle when we were on holiday five years ago. We didn’t find out until we came home a few weeks later. I put up signs, placed ads in papers, and offered a large reward; but had no luck. My heart still aches when I think of this. Give Bailey a huge hug! Your card is just awesome – you couldn’t have said it any better
Oh Becca! You had me at ‘There’s just something about Bailey’ and that sweet doggie photo. What a wonderful story. Sooo happy to hear of your persistence and the happy ending.
Best wishes!
Thank you Becca for relating this very moving experience. It is so easy to give up but determination often than not reaps rewards as you prove here. I think this story was for me as I was on the verge of giving up!
Hugs Jean xxx
What a wonderful blog. It touched my heart strings in just the way I needed. Thank you for sharing this!!
Just reading this blog reminds me of how much our animal family comes to mean to us. So thankful that you and your daughter had the perserverance to find your beautiful girl so that she can continue to bless your family.
Amazing & heart warming story. My breath was caught until the end of the story. I’m so happy you guys found her. What a grand reward for your efforts! Thank you for sharing that special word of perseverence.
Becca thank you for sharing your story about Bailey. It made me cry and it made me happy. So please that you and your daughter went through such extraordinary steps to find her. God Bless.

OMW….I came upon your post via Pinterest. What an inspiring posit it is too. How brave and tenacious you and your daughter are, looking for this dog and leaving no avenue unexplored. I am so happy that your efforts were successful and hope that you will be rewarded and blessed. This just reminds me that, in a cold and cynical world, there are many warm, loving people who are prepared to do whatever it takes.
Dear Lord…Thank you for taking care of Becca’s sweet Bailey. Thank you for how You created in Bailey a heart to serve and to comfort those she loves. I know the pain of losing a precious fur-child. I also know the joy of You returning him to me. Thank you for giving Becca’s family that same joy.
WELCOME HOME, BAILEY!
Becca, thank you for sharing your story. I hung on every word with bated breath and teary eyes until I read that wonderful outcome!
I’m so happy for you and your daughter, that you have sweet Bailey home again. What a marvellous ending to such a heart breaking story. I was crying tears of relief when I read you’d found her safe. Bailey reminds me of our wee girl black Lab “Piper”.
I love the courage you both have and your determination to find her. The words on the lovely card you made say it all.
We had a dog go missing from our home for many months (could have been at least a year). Suddenly one day I saw Brazil on the deck!!! Out of a clear blue sky!!
Your dog may yet come home.
I believe someone took our Brazil and eventually he was somehow able to find his way home. That is the angry/grateful me.
However, maybe your Bailey might be ‘needed’ by another family and right now is their angel.
