Hi there blog friends, you’ll laugh! I’ve had this box on the side of my desk so long that each time I’d sit down to make the tutorial, I’d have to reteach myself how to make it. Finally, I’ve made some samples and a video to show you how to make it too!! You’ll love it. I find myself reaching for this box when I want to do something quick. Just imagine it filled with candy or some sweet enclosure cards. For yours you will want double sided cardstock but don’t assume that it needs to be ultra thick — a medium weight cardstock will do! For my first sample I used Spellbinders Ironworks Motifs to create a flower and added some lace and ribbon around the box, as well as pearls.
For my second sample I layered Spellbinders™ Damask Motifs and Spellbinders™ Ironworks Motifs and finished on the side with embellishment using Spellbinders™ Ribbon Buckles.
For my third sample I used two Peg Maker Bows – one in satin and one in seam binding.
Lastly, I wanted to give you an idea of what the box looks like when it is opened.
Here’s the video to show you how:
SUPPLIES I USED |
Stamps: None Paper: My Minds Eye – Lush Ink: None Accessories: Spellbinders™ Damask Motifs, Spellbinders™ Ironworks Motifs, Spellbinders™ Ribbon Buckles, ribbon, pearls |
I hope this inspires you! The box is a blank canvas – make it uniquely you!! See you soon!
Hi Becca
Thanks so much for sharing your ideas, I find your tutorials, cards and creativity inspiring. I follow your blog on a daily basis and appreciate all that you do. Today I used your blog on making bows which I enjoyed tremendously. I got it!…. My mother use to tell me that all of us have a gift, one just has to find it. You obviously have found yours. But the best part is that you are sharing your gift with others and encouraging us to push ourselves out of our comfort zone. Thank you for that.
Jeannine

Hi Becca,
Your boxes are beyond adorable. Your are a special person to share your knowledge with us. P.S. I have been a crafter nearly all my life too. I began on sewing cards then handmade potholders which we went door to door and sold.
I enjoy your site tremendously.
Hugs, Diana Stewart
Thanks for the great tutorial. The box is really cute.

What a great little box! I love that there’s no glue or other adhesive to fuss with. Definitely going to share this one with my daughter, who used to do origami, and recently said she wished she hadn’t gotten rid of her supplies. I think this will be perfect for her to try, or at least to make with me. Thank you for your wonderful tutorial.
Thanks Becca just what i needed for the fund raising this Easter at the church . Fill with goodies and good to go. Wonderful. Mini eggs i think. What’s your favorite sweet? Yum

Thanks so very much for another awesome tutorial here Becca, this box is absolutely gorgeous. I´m a huge fan of all kind of small cute boxes and this one is definitely going into my collection to make of new ones. I love how it looks. Thanks so much for always sharing your great ideas and big talent here with us hun. Have a wonderful week-end ahead.
Hi Becca, I’ve just watched your video. Oh wow, that is amazing! You certainly live up to your name. I am now going to raid my paper/card stash and have a go. I can’t wait. You asked earlier in the year about our resolutions/plans etc. I said I was going to make a scrapbook for my sister from her son’s wedding. Well, I actually did it and she loved it! I have also started a scrapbook of my parents lives – using some of the gorgeous papers I won in your candy! They are both now with the Lord so I thought it would be lovely to scrap my memories. I decided that 2012 was going to be my year to achieve things and I certainly have made a really good start. You have truly been my inspiration and I await your daily posts eagerly. Thank you for everything! Christine xx
Love Love Love this little box Becca! Thank you for the video on how to make it. I think these little boxes will make great end of the school year thank you gifts for my grandkids teachers and bus driver. Thank you so much! I am sure I will make this little box often.
Thank you Becca for another wonderful tutorial, you make it look so easy and I’m sure it will be if we do it in front of the computer with you telling us at each stage what to do next <3 You are such an inspiration to us all.
LOL Eileen
I can think of so many uses for this box. It is adorable. Thank you so much for figuring it out for us. It is wonderful.
Wow Becca this box is so adorable!!! Thank you for sharing the tutorial and step by step instructions! I cannot wait to try and make this!
That was fun! I did it as you did it. I had to pause it occasionally, but I did it. And I marked all the folds. Very cute little box. Of course, I think I’ll have to come watch it again to make it again! My memory is old! lol TFS
So Elegant and neat! Thanks for sharing!
What a beautiful BOX!! I can’t wait to try one!! Also the tutorial is perfect!! If I can’t make one following this tutorial then something is wrong with me!! You did a fabulous job. One of the best tutorials I have seen!! Thank you!!
Thanks so much Becca. I got it on second try–Woo Hooo!!!
So very kind of you to share. You are wonderful. Blessings to you
Everything you make is just stunning and it always has that special ‘sparkle’ that shines from the inside! Look forward to checking your website every day. It always brings so much joy!!
THAT is too stinkin CUTE!!!!!!!!! I love it, and I can’t WAIT to try it,,,,
Is there any reason that you used the stylus to score rather than the tool that comes with the scor-pal??? I have a stylus, but I just wondered :)
off to make a box now!!!! I imagine it gets simpler every time! thanks so much for the fantastic tutorial!!!!!
What a cute box! I had to make one right away! Your tutorial was very well done! Your talent is AMAZING!!! Thanks for sharing. This is going into my “Favorites” file!
God Bless
How cute is this!?!! I can’t wait to try it! Awesome tutorial…thanks for sharing!
Becca – Can I PLEASE have just a little, wee bit of your brain? I promise to take good care of it!
Love you and all of your inspiration!
WOW, that was so much easier than I thought it would be,,,,,,Becca, this tutorial is awesome,,,,,,,you took something complicated and made it easy for us! AS USUAL!
Another way to close the box, if you don’t want to slip one side into the other side, is to make a belly band,,,,,I made one out of lace and then built up my embellishments on top of the belly band,,,,,,Love love LOVE this little box! Thank you!
Brilliant, as usual!
I will play this over and over until I get it all! Thank you! I love boxes!
Terrific idea. Thanks for the demo, it’s good to know I can come back if I get stuck!
What a clear, precise tutorial!!! Think I can even do this! Thanks, Becca!
These boxes are stunning Becca. You are so creative and so kind to share with us.
Fantastic tutorial. You are AMAZING and a great instructor. I can hardly wait to try this. A friend of mine is going to host a Victorian High Tea…..can make some wonderful gift boxes for all those attending. Thanks for the continous inspiration
Becca oh I just love this little box you have made. Thank you so much for all your instructions. This is something I want to have a go at.
Hugs Trish.
Becca, this box is so pretty! I can’t wait to try this. I’ll probably bring my scorepal right to the computer, and do it along with the video. The first one will be made with one of those unloved sheets of patterned paper that is left from a paper stack–to “learn” on. So many possibilities for this cute little box, and a great way to use more of my stash. Thanks for making this tutorial. I’m off now to get my supplies to try it!
I did it! Just finished my 1st box following your directions with not one problem and you are right, it’s just the cutest box ever!!! Thanks, Starr
Spectacular project, Becca!! Thank you for the tutorial and always being such an inspiration!
Hi there Becca,
Your box is absolutely GORGEOUS!!! I watched your video (twice), pausing to follow along the second time…my box did not turn out well, but I think the cardstock I used was too thick/heavy. I also used my scor pal, but it must be an older version (I don’t have all the dimensions on mine that you used…hmmm). I am going to try again with a lighter weight cardstock/paper, and use my paper trimmer and stylus for more accuracy, and will let you know how it goes.
Sorry for the long post ~
Thanks so much for always “Showing us your magic”! You are AMAZING!!!
Keeping you in my prayers…(((HUGS))) to you, Barb G.
I did it!!! Thanks to your wonderful instructions I was able to make this cute box!!! Thank you so much, Becca! I had such a fun time making it, and I know I will make many more. You are just THE BEST!

Wow, I am so impressed with peg bows. My bows always look so sloppy I think this idea might work for me. Do you sell the pattern for the ribbon/peg bow holder? I would purchase one if you do.
Thanks
Rosa
Beautiful!!! TFS
