Waltzingmouse Stamps September Release – Design Team Blog Waltz

Hi there blog friends!  I’m so excited, this is my first Waltzingmouse Stamps Blog Waltz and today we get to present the final stamp set of the four new sets that have been previewed in the last several days.  The stamps are available today plus the wonderful news is that you can win prizes just from waltzing along and looking at the goodies and leaving comments for each of the Design Team Members.  There are prizes hidden amongst us so, the more design team members you leave comments for, the greater your chances of winning.    Leaving comments will enter you into the drawing for a stamp set of your choice.  You’ll have until 11:59PM GMT, (5:59AM Central, 3:59AM Pacific, 6:59AM Eastern) on September 21st to enter your comments.  The winner will be announced on the 23rd on Claire’s blog.  If you have just left Tosha Leyendekker’s blog to get to me, then you are on the right track.  By the way, the entire hop list can be found on Claires Blog,  should you get lost.

For my project today, I’m using a new Waltzingmouse Stamp set called A Cottage Christmas.  Well I think you know how very partial I am to these little cottages – I thought the Cottage Christmas set would work up perfectly into a trinket/candy box and matching handmade tassel ornaments.  They are both made the same way, just like simple boxes or shall I say like a milk carton with the pointy top!!  I scored my box and stamped out four continuous panels of the house (two of the Cottage Christmas and two of the thin cottage portion with the pointy roof from A Cottage Home), then assembled.  Below is an ornament using cream seam binding for the tassel.

Then I made a similar ornament with red seam binding for the tassel.

I kept it simple using the white embossing powder and distressing with Vintage Photo Distress Ink.  I almost think these little house are a little addicting :-)

SUPPLIES I USED
Stamps: Waltzingmouse Stamps – A Cottage Christmas, A Cottage Home
Paper: PTI Kraft, The Paper Company
Ink: Versamark, Vintage Photo Distress Ink
Accessories:Scor-Tape, White Embossing Powder, Seam Binding, Beads, Velvet Ribbon, satin ribbon, Pearls

Well, now I send you along your merry way — the next stop on the waltz is a fellow Design Team member that is new addition to the Design Team too – Clare Buswell!!  Get ready, everything she makes is utterly brilliant!!  Thanks so much for joining in – designing with the new stamps has been so fun – really!!  I hope to see you soon!!

  • Lesli FieldsSeptember 19, 2011 - 2:46 pm

As usual, beautiful projects. I love these ornaments. When my children were small, I made a lot of gingerbread and paper decorations for the Christmas tree so my expensive glass ornaments wouldn’t be at risk of being broken by little fingers. These ornaments really bring back those wonderful memories. I might make some anyway, even though my children are old enough now to handle the ornaments without breakage!ReplyCancel

    The things you think of!!!
I love little houses on the tree. My question is how in the world
did you show them on a lit Christmas tree?? Did you put up
and decorate a tree to show them to us?ReplyCancel
