Hi there. I know I’ve said before that I love background stamps – to me they make the card. Since I’m one that will hunt for hours for the perfect paper for a card, imagine my relief when I have a background stamp to work with! Most of my job is done right there because in essence I’m making my own background paper. Now the only thing to do is figure out what color card stock and what color ink.
This month Our Daily Bread Designs released two new background stamps that are Christmas themed, and lovely I might add. The one I used on this card is called Snowflake Swirl Background. I paired it up with a sentiment from the Holly Tag Set and embossed them both in white.
For the next card I used another of the new backgrounds from Our Daily Bread Designs called Poinsettia Background and paired it up again with one of the very elegant sentiments from the Holly Tag Set. I layered vellum over top of the card to mute the impact of the background since I used bright red ink. Also, I love hand twirled roses, but they don’t always click for me. I guess I must have loosened up because this one came together in minutes and I didn’t have fuss over it.
Speaking of Our Daily Bread Designs, something special is going on that you might want to make a note of. Kelley is offering free shipping special for Thanksgiving weekend (November 25 – 28th) as a thank you to ODBD customers. Over the same dates, she is offering blog candy over on the ODBD Blog. A lucky commenter stands the chance of winning a Bread Basket Bundle, which is two new backgrounds, three new tags sets and the new tag die. Here’s a coupon for you to use when you’re shopping over the weekend :-)
Speaking of blog candy, keep your eye peeled here because you all just helped me reach another seriously cool milestone. I could not have done it without your help and your sweet, sweet comments. I’m pulling together something to celebrate the occasion so be sure to check back with me.

Two beautiful Holiday cards. I have such trouble with background stamps. I never get a clean image. Your backgrounds are just beautiful Becca. You always amaze me, you always pay such attention to detail. I love both designs. One more playful and the other more on the elegant side. As always Becca, TFS!!! :-D
Wow Becca, both of these are beautiful! I think I like the snowflakes the best though! So pretty and almost etherial! Thanks for sharing Them. Hugs Jess

Beautiful backgrounds and gorgeous cards! Thank you for sharing, Becca!
These are gorgeous!
I love that snowflake swirl….yes it’s true that background stamps do most of your job for you but the way you artistically put together the whole card as you do Becca is so special…you need to take credit where credit is due.
Becca!!!! I agree with you on background stamps!!These are GORGEOUS!!!! I LOVE the fine detail of these stamps!!!! THAT, I think, is what makes a BEAUTIFUL stamp!!!! DETAILS!!!! You have done a WONDERFUL JOB on these cards!!!! JUST GORGEOUS!!!! :)
Hi Becca,
I just love your cards, you always know just what will go together.
I love background stamps too, have got a few, but some times I can’t get the whole thing stamped, I have been putting them on the table then putting my paper on top and then using my brayer to run over it, I seem to get it better then.
Thanks.
I’m always happy to find an email from your blog when I log on :)
GORGEOUS…and…with all the snow that we’ve had here since last Friday…I’m REALLY in the mood for Christmas cards!
TFS…they are inspiring.
Marian
Oh my, oh my, oh my! I love both cards! Gotta get those background stamps out and use them more often. Thanks for the inspiration and for the beautiful cards. Love those ribbon roses. I have been working on them too! Some work and some do not!
Continuing to pray for you and your family.
Oh, these are gorgeous. You always do a spectacular job. I love background stamps also. Thanks so much for sharing.
Gorgeous, love them both! Sending you some {{{Hugs}}} today. :)
Love the reindeer card. It’s so sweet with the gingham and lace…makes me think of hot chocolate. And your red card with it’s peppermint twist is so festive and brings peppermint candy canes to mind of course!
Thank-you Becca for sharing your yummy treats! :o)
Stunning…..and I love them….I will have to try this technique….I just don’t think about doing that when I go to make a card…..thank you so much for sharing with us these gorgeous creations…..
WOW, Becca, these are both simply stunning — LOVE that first card sooo much — oh, gosh I just love both, really! What fabulous BGs and those sentiments are sooo lovely!!!
These cards are gorgeous as always. Thanks so much for all the beautiful things you share with us. So glad you are feeling a little better. Love and prayers.
I really love the snowflake background stamp will definitely have to check this one out this weekend. Cards are both gorgeous, but favor the 1st. Congrats on milestone – which was it?
Marcie
wow, stunning cards, love your PERFECT rose! just beautiful!
Beautiful cards-love the snowflake backgrounder.
I have several bg stamps but for some reason don’t use them much-need to change that! I use SU linen, antique cracking, flannel plaid and canvas the most. Thanks for the inspiration!
These are beautiful cards. I enjoy back ground stamps as well, but I am some times intimidated by them, they sometimes do not stamp great in all places. Putting something over it, like an embellishment, in that area helps. As usual your cards are so beautiful. Thanks for sharing with us.
Praying for you,
Gale
these are just fantastic, so love the country feel to the first one and the second reminds me of candy canes, so cool!
Becca !!! the reindeer card is GORGEOUS I just love the way you use ribbon in your creations. Thanks so much for sharing you’re an inspiration :D
Becca, LOVE these cards. I had been drooling over the bundle at ODBD and thinking “How exactly would I use those backgrounds?” and your cards today answered that question. I’m going to order the package. As always, beautiful cards, and I’m happy to hear you sounding like Baby steps might be marching along. Keep remembering all of us who are praying for your heart to ease. God Bless. Thank you for the sharing of your lovely cards.
Mornin’ Becca,

Absolutely LOVE both cards Becca and I’m so glad that you are back on a regular basis. You have no idea how much I missed getting daily updates from you. It appears that your broken heart is slowly healing and I’m sure that getting back to what you love (stamping and creating) is doing your heart good.
Gorgeous cards, Becca!! I love the traditional colors for Christmas so the red and white is one of my favorites.
Wow, wow, wow, Becca these are truly gorgeous cards. I would never have guessed that you have used stamps for the background. Thanks for sharing x

Oh Becca, these are so so so pretty! I am always just plain awed by your cards. Have a blessed day dear Becca. God Bless!
Beautiful cards! I love background stamps also. I have a large, spongy, mouse pad that I use to stamp on and it works wonderfully with the large background stamps. (No missing areas when I stamp.) Thanks for sharing your wondrful cards and may you and your family find blessings this Thanksgiving.
Love these cards Becca.
The first with the gingham bow and craft cardstock gives a warm country feeling to it.
The red one is so bright and cheerful/
The both are wonderful creations.

So beautiful, I just adore the snowflake background!
I have to agree with you about background stamps. They can be a lifesaver too!
Both of your cards are beautiful, Becca, as always :o)

Oh I love these and the colors you used are so fresh !! I must order these background stamps. And they are large !. I make 5″ x 7″ cards and so many background stamps are too small. I too have been using more background stamps because I can’t seem to find patterned paper that will look good with an idea that I have for a card. TFS!!
P.S. ODBD is showing the poinsettia background stamp using gold embossing and it is lovely that way too.
Love teh beautiful cards you created, Becca!
Love the cards…both of them! Guess I need to dig out my background stamps – LOL! Great job Becca!
