Worry

Encouragement Card Making Ideas by Becca Feeken using Spellbinders Victorian Fan and Quietfire Design - Worry - www.amazingpapergrace.com
Good morning friends, here’s to hoping your day is glorious! Sometimes in creating I kick about and don’t land on anything creatively until I pick a piece or a sentiment that resonates with me.  If you’ve been around my blog a long time – that’s how I create – from the heart, it’s what’s going on in my life right now.   That’s today – some days you’re sailing and some days you need a firm reminder to have faith and stay the course.  I have to agree with the sentiment that I picked today from Quietfire DesignWorry.  Isn’t that the wonderful thing though, sitting down with things so beautiful helps that sentiment settle on your heart.  I’m definitely the beneficiary today.

Encouragement Card Making Ideas by Becca Feeken using Spellbinders Victorian Fan and Quietfire Design - Worry - www.amazingpapergrace.com
I picked a 6″ x 6″ card base to make my card and set a filigree layer using a die I haven’t used in many moons, Spellbinders Filigree Delight.   On top of that I layered the new Spellbinders Victorian Fan, using two to create a textured, embossed circle.  On top of that I layered Spellbinders Classic Ovals LG flanked by Spellbinders Corners and Accents One.

Tip:  When setting up layers for your cards, think in terms of stair steps with each bottom layer showing off the next layer up.  That detail gives interest and will lead the eye in to the focal point.

One can tell by your creations that you design from the heart. Lovely card today. Your sentiment today touches so many people. I’m glad creating beauty can calm you when you worry. I would not have picked out the fan part of your design today if you had not listed the dies you used. You have a great eye for design. You have been on my mind and in my heart this week. Wishing you a lovely weekend.ReplyCancel

Wow, this is an awesome card and the sentiment is so great!! Quietfire has some of the best sentiments I have ever seen. I think you must have been responsible for writing a lot of them, Becca.
The colors and dies you chose for this card are really unbelievable and I would love to know how you choose and put them together to assemble a card. Think you should offer a class (willing to pay) to teach some tips on how you decide on what to put together and why or how, etc. Would be worth every penny or dollar or whatever to learn from you. If I could get lined up with an establishment would you be willing to do it? Here in Florida of course! I have a place in mind. Really! You can answer me offline.
    Thanks Becca.
Looking forward to tomorrow’s Friday Freebie deal.

Lovely card and sentiment, Becca. Isn’t it grace that creating is like taking an hour of slow, deep breaths, calming our souls? And then you pass that along to the rest of us! Thank you!ReplyCancel

Hi Becca, A card so exquisite it will work with other sayings, too. But I confess I purchased this stamp from Quietfire because there is nothing else like it in the market that I could find. And so appropriate for anyone dealing with issues–and who isn’t? Your filigree die from days gone by is one I pull out so often but never thought outside the box to put it on a square card and using a circular double fan die cuts on top of it. That’s why you get the big bucks for creativity–wish you did because you deserve it. Just a classy card from a classy lady. Thank you, Barbara TranquillaReplyCancel

Your card is lovely, & I completely agree with this sentiment too, so very true. Thanks for sharing your thought process, when making your beautiful cards. I love how detailed Spellbinders have become, the framing accents around the sentiment is so fine, like jewellery. When I think of Spellbinders earlier dies and how much now, that they’ve advanced, it’s amazing. You always inspire & make us think of even more ways to make the dies do so much more than our first glance impressions of the images, to hopefully make our cards look amazing too! Thank you xxReplyCancel

This card is so beautiful Becca! I love the die cuts you used and I’m thrilled to say I own them. I can’t wait to try my version. This color combination is a favorite of mine too.

The sentiment is a wonderful reminder and one I personally needed to hear. I’m struggling with the pain from my injuries from my fall in January and worrying about how to get the pain under control. The sentiment you chose really touched my heart. God is my strength and worry gets in front of that strength BUT only if I allow it to! Thank you for including so much of your heart with us.ReplyCancel

  • JonnaAugust 20, 2015 - 5:43 pm

I love this sentiment. I am a worrier at heart but since being diagnosed with fibromyalgia, I am determined to not waste what little energy I have worrying but rather to use what energy I have being a strong productive woman! I am going to have to buy this sentiment to use on cards for my fellow sufferers.ReplyCancel

Love Corrie Ten Boom. Another saying/ .. Rough paraphrase, is to not hold on so tight to things that if God decides to remove that that he won’t hurt or break your fingers when He removes or takes them away. Thank you. For your stair step tip. Beautiful card.ReplyCancel

Hi Becca, Another stunning card. This sentiment is what I’m doing at the moment and I have been doing it all this week. I am a ‘born worrier’ and this week financial problems have erupted and talk about ‘stressville’ !!! These words are very true, but some of us (definitely me) can’t help but ‘worry’.
Lots of love from Patricia xxReplyCancel

  • DixieAugust 21, 2015 - 10:40 am

This is again a very beautiful card, I love the layering, the use of the bow & flowers.
The sentiment is particularly meaningful to me. My mother used to worry because she had nothing to worry about. It really took over her life. I managed to “marry out” of that mindset. My husband very early into our marriage reminded me that worrying does no good, only makes things worse. I agreed with him & my life is now much more satisfying.ReplyCancel
