This one will really have you scratching your noggin!! I know, it’s always hard to make a choice – that’s why polls are fun – you kind of have to fit into one group or another. This one was an idea emailed to me by a reader. Pop by and weigh in! I think the results for this one are going to be very interesting!!
Remember, if there is a poll that you’d like to see, tell me about it in a comment!
Edited to Add: 2 hours after I published the poll, I received some very valid feedback. They felt that I had omitted a major answer and I agree. It might be a little bit unconventional, but this is for fun – so, I added it. The beauty of a poll like this is that you see what other people think and where you fit in with your peers. If any of the first 100 people feel their answer would have been different, please email me so that I can add it as notes to the results. The software won’t let me tinker with the totals though :-) Also I’m sure that someone will eventually point out that since this is a blog, results might be skewed towards blogs. Yep, they might, lol!!! But it will sure be fun to see.
Sweet! I enjoy doing the polls and I am always glad to see how my response fits in with the others doing the poll. Vickie
This was hard because I usually get inspiration form blogs BUT when I go to create I reinforce and adapt my creations with the help of magazines- which stay in my craft area and my computer is in another part of the house.
My choice isn’t up there, so I won’t vote this time. I usually find my own inspiration when I’m creating. I DO like to have a look at how others use products, but when it comes down to creating, I usually do my “own thing”
I especially like tutorials from blogs on techniques, etc., but I usually design my own cards and scrapbook pages, doing my own thing. Sometimes it’s NOT too pretty either……..LOL
I would like to say “All of the above”. Which is partially true.
But I guess I’m more in Rob’s camp. I might try to do things I see on blogs, in magazines & all the rest, but they just seem to have a life of their own & things seem change as I go along. So I didn’t vote either.

Just as I suspected….you and others really inspire us to jump in with both feet and give things a try…..a special thank you Becca!!!

Actually, it was an easy poll. I don’t subscribe to any magazines, there are no local stamping or scrapbook stores (unless you count A.C. Moore, Michael’s or Joann’s), I don’t peruse manufacturer websites, and of the few friends I have, none stamp. So easy. I credit your blog, Becca, in large part for renewing my interesting in card making. Thank you!
I love the inspiration I get from online blogs. We have no local stamp store so Michaels or ACMoore was the only other place to get inspiration but they had so very little. I so appreciate talented crafters like yourself who share. I don’t copy but just the layouts get my creative juices flowing. I find it amazing that many of the challenges show such varied designs but we do all have our own styles.
That was a super easy poll, Becca! Blogs are definitely my main source of inspiration! I do read a few magazines, and I definitely check out company websites – but other crafters’ blogs are big for me. Design team members’ blogs are often where I start if I’m looking for ways to use a particular stamp set, but I’m also a fan of challenge blogs.
Oh Becca, you are a girl after my own heart…
I too, am a quilter/sewer, and have been finding so many of my sewing supplies now being used in card making. It is amazing how many products fit the bill for both hobbies. In using fabric in place of ribbon, I did find some fabrics a little limp, so just spray them with heavy duty spray starch and then iron them with a clean curling iron. I picked up a few spare irons at garage sales just for this purpose. As long as the curling iron has a temperature control, it can be set for many types of material. For added fun, try using a crimping iron on damp ribbon or fabric.
Thanks for another great Becca Bit, keep them coming!!

This was so-o-o- easy. I get ALL of my inspiration from Crafter’s blogs. In fact your blog is my #1 favorite ! All designers do outstanding work some of the time. You do outstanding work ALL of the time. I have no friends who do paper crafts; I don’t subscribe to craft magazines ; I have no LSS and the manufacture’s Websited generally offer very little to inspire me.
It was also really easy for me to vote here, as we don´t have any stores or anything at all for cardmaking or scrapbooking here, where I live, and we can´t get any magazines here either, so I don´t have much else choises than the computer, and a few old magazines some friends overseas has been sooo sweet to send me sometime. So I get most of my inspiration on different blogs and then try to convert the different techniques into my own style and liking. I love to search throug allthe blogs, I´m following and also to surf throug new ones now and then and see all the hints and tips you all is offering to us, and thank you soo much for that. I know, I wouldn´t get much , if it wasn´t for all you sweet ladies, who soo willingly share all your wonderful creations and great ideas with us, which I just apreciate so very much.
If it is a card that I am doing for my “thinking of you” list, I say a prayer before I start.
I visit blogs, magazines and try to capture my thoughts and convert them to a card with the supplies I have on hand.
so true…! without the blog/internet, I don’t even know there is such thing as card making or scrapbook magazine nor our local scrapbook store. Before this, I only know about art store…watercolour, colour pencil, playdough etc…lol.
Hi Becca! I love your new ideas for your blog. I especially like the “31 days…” I have gotten so many good ideas from everyone. I get alot of ideas and inspiration from You Tube which is full of bloggers postings. I’ve been watching your blog for a long time, in fact I think yours was the first one I ever subscribed to. I found you on Splitcoast Stampers . You have inspired me in so many ways, creatively and spiritualy. Thank you! Iris, Saved by Grace.
DUH….this was a no brainer for me. The Online Blogs get all the credit and especially yours Becca, I can’t wait for your to come each day. I have all my girls signed up for your newsletter…..Love Ya and keep them ideas coming.
This is a great new feature that I am enjoying. As always Becca, TFS!!! :-D
There are two designers whose creations inspire me more than others and I glean ideas from them and sometimes I buy items they’ve used and other times I use their basic pattern with my own stash. Needless to say, Becca, you are one of the two. You are incredible,
Becca,
I love your polls, but most of all–your blog. I get so many ideas from you. And the best part is–you always show in detail “how to do”. Thanks Becca and please keep them coming. You are awesome!!
This was a hard poll for me to select only one source. I get two stamping magazines; read many internet blogs, but not often manufacturer websites; belonged to a stamp club for years; and although there is a stamp store not too far away, it is not too inspiring. So I guess I get my inspiration from myself, as I combine all the things I like from my sources, and go from there. Becca’s cards are definitely done along my way of thinking, so she has been way up there in getting me un-stuck when I can’t think of what I want to do. This was a great poll – made me stop and think about what helps me create.
I wish I could have said -Myself-. Actually you are my everyday blog site, and often the spirit is willin, but the supplies, or time, or talent (those bows still challenge me), are missing. I do not come by artistic talent easily, and my own attempts often end up lacking, so I am glad I have you, and so many other artists’ blogs, to visit. I love Justrite’s gallery, though, and since I have been spending most of my money there and on Spellbinders, that is my site of most inspiration, at this time. That is not to say there are not many many other places on visit in ciber-land (is that the right word?) One site leads me to another, and then to another….
Lots of ideas from SplitcoastStampers, which isn’t really any of the choices, then blogs, then magazines. When I first started stamping, it was magazines. Now I have almost 50 blogs on RSS feeds…ask how you can while your life away on the computer!
This is a super cool poll! And it serves a special purpose for me. Theres an overwhelming amount of people who get their inspiration from blogs, like I do. I’ve neglected my blog for about a year now, because I didn’t think I had anything that interesting to offer. I wasn’t getting a single hit and I just sort of gave up. But since then I’ve learned how dedicated I have to be to gather a following. And now I see, that if I stay with it everyday, other craft people, just like me will eventually stop by, the same way I hop around myself.)
So, thanks Becca, for the special incentive to get back to it. =)
Kim K.————–my soon to be remodeled blog.
I voted and said Stamp Club/Friends because that’s how I got started. We still meet and I am inspired. Your blog, of course, inspires me also, as do magazines, and sometimes Splitcoast Stampers. So, how do you pick just one?
Becca – This was the easiest poll yet! I owned a stamp store for 14 years and sold many magazines so at the time, I ofen found inspiration for classes and such in magazines. But, now that I no longer have the store, blog perusing has definitley took over where magazines left off. I have over 150 blogs in my reader and yours and a couple of others who come straight to my email. I am one that needs a little fix of inspiration to get me going. And thanks to you and others it does!
Definitely from blogs. Not being an ‘artistic’ person, I look to see how bloggers made their cards; love it when they give the ‘ingredients & how-tos’. Tutorials are such a big help as well. I may try to ‘CASE’ a card from a blogger who has similar taste to mine, but since I usually have different supplies, my creation won’t be exactly the same. It gives me an idea of where to start though. Then I can modify my card with a different idea perhaps. I so appreciate the work & generosity of those bloggers who share their talent AND time.. with those of us less skilled. I look more to blogs than magazines..hands down. And especially to Amazing Paper Grace. That’s always my first stop on my blogging lists.
Becca, you are one of my most inspiring artists to follow! I enjoyed your tutorial on ribbon last night. Learning so much from you.
This poll was pretty easy for me. I love to browse thru crafting magazines and I used to get most of my inspiration from them, but lately I have discovered blogging :) and I spend more time browsing other peoples’ blogs than I do actually crafting, but wow I get sooo much inspiration from doing that! I have started making some mini albums – different kinds – and cards and I am just having so much fun trying new things I have never tried before! Thanks for the fun poll Becca!
well, I must be pretty goofy today because I dont see a list of anything to vote on. But, I will throw my two cents in. I love blogging and you tube. It amazes me the number of talent people out there in blog land, especially dear Becca. I have been following Becca almost since she began and she is my how to do it go to person. I have bought a couple of magazines, but it seems like I never have the stuff they use. I love the tutorials you can get while blogging. Sigh…what did we do before computers? Thanks Becca.
beautiful!!!
That was easy…..blogs of course! LOL
Eileen
Love your new poll. I don’t even purchase craft mags anymore because blog cards are so much prettier and up-to-date with current trends. Honestly, I’m appalled at some of the cards I see on the cover of craft magazines lately. Ugh! What are the editors thinking… Anyway, this is HUGE for me because I have years of back issues of papermaking and cards magazines.
I do get inspiration in several ways as most of us do I’m sure, but Blogs by talented people inspire me the most. I especially like the Blog Hops as I find new card makers this way. You don’t know them personally, and yet, you almost feel as if you do. You get to know their style, lots of times a bit about them and their family, and most are so ready to share their faith that they inspire in other ways. But in saying that, some of my best friends are other cardmakers who I get together with each month and it is indeed our “special day”. They bring ideas from blogs sometimes too.
This was easy! I don’t find magazines interactive enough and their content is usually pretty predictable and mostly advertisements. We have a select few stores around here and rarely am I inspired by a website of a manufacturer. I have no friends who craft/stamp and I need the inspiration of others because I don’t think I am very creative.
The poll is hard to answer with just one. I get my inspirations from a variety of sources. I look at blogs first, then I will leaf through several of my books and/or magazines. I even talk with some of my stamping friends on what I should make. Right now, I am stumped…… My son and daughter-in-law will be celebrating their 25th wedding aniversary on the 23rd and I have been stressing for a week now on what card to make. Nothing I look at seems to fit the situation. The closer it gets, the more I stress. My creativity is greatly limited as well as some of the supplies needed. No end in sight. As always thanks for sharing your great ideas with all of us. Hugs, Linda
The blogs have led me to the manufacturers and their tutorials also. It takes time to develop your own style so the blogs help with that and are great sources of inspiration. This industry has grown rapidly the last 5 or so years so it’s hard to keep up with the new products and to learn how to use them. I’m probably giving away my age but I remember when acrylic paints were new! We’ve come a long way baby!! I’ve had more fun and discovered more creative potential with inks than with any other medium I’ve used. Even though I can draw I like the ease of using others art in a stamp format. I create for the joy of working with color and texture and dimension, the rest was a secondary necessity for me. Thanks and keep up the good work girls! School was never so much fun.
Like most others whose comments I read, I don’t have a local store of any kind. I only get one magazine, geared mainly toward scrapbooking not cards. So my inspiration comes from two places, Online sources such as your marvelous blog and from myself. Thank you for being so inspirational!

Hi Becca, Well you really got me laughing on this pool. While I generally get my inspiration from online blogs like yours…where else do I need to go with inspiration like yours there are of course times I do consult with other “souces”. I still giggling.
Well, let’s put it this way – if you could see the “cards” I made when I started!! If it weren’t for the internet & stamping blogs, my cards wouldn’t be as nice as they are now. I have attended a few classes as well & learned different techniques and I also have a few books and magazines but most of my inspiration comes from blogs.
would love to win this I have no spellbinders at all just always drooling over them
Thanks
Pamm
Love, Love, Love all you do Becca! You’re an amazing artist and so generous to share all your Becca bits. I could watch the videos for hours on end; they’re so precise and clear. Great give-away!
The card is absolutely beautiful! All the colors are my favorites. Hoping to someday be as creative as you are!
I am new to cardmaking and check in to Becca everyday. I have much to learn and want to do it all. Becca you have inspired me beyond belief. Thanks so much!
Love the blog hops! I spend waaay too much time on those inspirational blogs.
Your polls are fun and very informative! What a great idea. Until June 2010, I had never even viewed the blogs and what a wealth of inspiration and community to belong to. Until that time, I had just visited craft stores and Expo’s, but then I moved to an area where there were few craft places and since I am unable to get out much, I was sorely missing my local stores. The blogs have been a great inspiration and have challenged me to try a lot more variety of sketches than what I had previously been exposed to! I am so glad that I stumbled upon your blog, as it is one of my favorites. Your work is beautiful and I can’t wait to see what you will achieve next! Keep the inspiration coming!
Becca you always come up with the most beautiful designs. I am impressed everytime I see your work. Love the way you have used the tulip design.
Your work is always so creative and beautiful.
As always, your box and cards are “Amazing.” What a great way to use these Spellbinders dies.
Becca,
I love to look for inspiration on blogs, but I also have a great local stamp store. I also look at manufacters websites. Sometimes I tell my local store owner about a new product or something she needs to order. She knows she has one sold before she places the order.
Becca, your work is so beautiful, I just love checking your blog for new ideas.
Edna
I just love seeing what can be done with the spellbinder dies.
Becca I love anything you make, everything is so beautiful, you are very talented. I would love to win by visiting your blog, however I read your blog daily winner or not. I’ve even turned you on to some of my friends.
I love the amazing things you do!
Becca your card is gorgeous! I love your color choice and all of the layers…
My d-i-l got me hooked on blogs. Then a friend told me about you. Now the books I bought are gathering dust, and the magazine subscriptions have expired.
I love your box and cards what a sweet gift! As always, Becca your work is stunning.
There are so many creative people in this world and I admire the stampers, quilters, knitters, bakers, etc…who so willingly share their art with others. I’m sitting in the doctor’s office – waiting – and there’s no conversation between me and others in the room….OR I’m sitting in the doctor’s office – waiting and knitting and someone will ask what I’m knitting and then we off – sharing projects, etc. I love this world!!
Thanks, Becca
hugs
Your little boxes with the note cards are so pretty, love your springy colors. and awesome bows !!! As always your creations are over the top GORGEOUS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love the pink cards. I can’t wait to get started and make one. Your design ideas are a blessing. Thanks for sharing your gift.
I have just received my new stamps from Just Rite, so seeing how you used them is inspiring. LOVE the colors and the stacking order. Very rich.
Becca, what a great idea. My best friend’s mom would really enjoy this.
Keep the great ideas using Spellbinders dies coming.
What a wonderful spring die. Can imagaine some beautiful cards like yours will be made by the winner.
Beautiful, love your style!
Pink is so spring! These cards are lovely!
I love your cards! Your color combinations are very eye catching and I believe what can actually make or break a potentially fabulous card. The card with the red and deep beige is spectacular! You definitely are an inspiration.
I only see my stampin up demo once a month. Blogs I see every day; so I would have to say that blogs are my major source of inspiration, especially lovely ones like yours. I adore your bows!
