I was ripe for a simple card and I think this one fits the bill. This one was half made on my desk before I had to set it aside to work on some commitments last week. The reason it was half done is because the poppies were just so bold and as you know I’m on a pink and green kick at this point in my life :) Yes it is bold and I think that’s what make this Autumn Leaves paper both beautiful and striking – as is the scripture on the card – what a powerful reminder!! The stamp set is one that was released on March 17th to celebrate the one year anniversary of Our Daily Bread Designs and is called Scripture Collection 2.
For this card I simply cut a Spellbinders Labels Four using a reverse stenciling technique (cover the template with a pigment based ink then cut in your die cut machine). I then stamped my sentiment and popped it up over some ribbon tails, added a button with a black pearl and punched out the name of the verse. As a final touch, I cut a Spellbinders Blossom, further cut it into quarters and used one quarter in the bottom left hand corner of the card.
Thank you so much for your kind words while I was away Guest Blogging all week. I feel like I’m home now, comfy and cozy on familiar ground. You all are utterly fabulous and I wish you and your families a very blessed Easter.
Card Recipe:

Oh my good golly. This is so, so nice. I love the bright red poppies. Yes, it is a different look from the pink you like to use. Lovely work!
Lovely poppies….for remembrance….bold but beautiful. Becca…..could you elaborate on putting the ink on the die…..not understanding you…is this to create the coloured edge. Thanks.
tried to locate the paper……..from The Paper Company.
info appreciated.
thanks

Becca, your work inspires me so. Your words that you were once a stamp collector and now you use them has stuck in my head. I have the largest collection of beautiful stamps and I want to start using them. Your work is so stunning.
again, STUNNING
Very pretty. I like how you did the ribbon.
Becca, I also have this paper; bought it because of the poppies. But when it was time to use it on a card, the boldness kept me from actually creating more than one. Your card is beautiful and am going to implement an idea of yours, the corner frame since I recently purchased Spellbinder dies. Blessings and thank you again, from the bottom of my heart, for your continued commitment to share God’s word with the world.
Absolutely amazing, and love the idea of the quartered flower.
Your work is as inspiring as ever.
Easter Blessing to you and your family Becca.

So beautiful, Becca, so elegant…so vibrant. TFS another true work of art. God bless you and your family and Happy Easter.
What a gorgeous card! I love the boldness of the colors and I never would have thought of just using beautiful designer paper as my image instead of a stamp. But it looks fantastic!
Becca,
Beautiful card. Happy Easter my friend.

I love your card and the bold look of red/black and white. Of course, the saying is perfect. Praise the Lord, He is risen.
Becca, love the card! But especially love the verse. I’m looking into getting both of those sets.
Thanks!

Swooon- so pretty. I LOVE this paper. I bought my stacks (emphasis on the plural) at Michaels. It was love at first sight. I know they’re on clearance right now so I actually bought more. I enjoyed the projects you showcased at Just Right- as usual. Happy Easter!
Thank you for posting this card. I am new to stamping, became a Stampin Up demonstrator, but have been trying to find sources for Christian themed/based stamps. I am so glad you shared where the stamp was from. Love your card by the way, being in California will have to find some of that paper too.
