Oh my goodness, to start out, I should probably make a clarification!!
So many people protectively responded to my last post – perhaps thinking I was injured by the person who unsubscribed due to my too many posts. Well there’s probably a little bit of truth in that but honestly it was more of my bizarre sense of humor than anything. I chuckled when the unsub notice came across because I know better than anyone that I could post more!! At any rate, I don’t take these things personally – there are a lot of subscribers out there and a normal day sees at least two or three unsubs but it is always pleasantly balanced out by two or three new subs!! Here is the point that I was trying to make though…you readers are the most important element of my blog! I never imagined I would have 1 reader, let alone the many that come back each day. I want to make sure the content here is exciting and current. I know that I can’t please everyone, but I am always open to hearing what you would like to see and I hope you would send me a note with that information, even if it’s on your way out.
Okay, now on to today’s card. Flourishes has truly elegant stamps and sentiments for every occasion. A dear, dear friend of mine lost her mother (second sad event this week) so again I wanted to come up with a handmade sympathy card to let her know that I was thinking of her and there was a perfect Flourishes set to fit the bill.
I had to fight a little bit not to make this as somber, but there is a fine line…I had topaz jewels on the flower that I switched out for pearls. Don’t ask me why…the bling just didn’t feel right. Anyways, the sentiment that so perfectly fit this situation is from the Flourishes Thinking of You Set. The flower and leaves were constructed from Spellbinders Floral Accent for the flower and Spellbinders Sunflower Set One for the leaves. For texture and interest, before cutting the leaves I stamped them with Flourishes Damask Background! The sentiment is stamped onto Spellbinders Tag 5 then I added satin ribbon for a little elegant flair and pearls to keep the same tone.
Card Recipe:
Stamps: Flourishes; Damask Background, Thinking of You
Paper: Bazzill, NRN Design Paper
Ink: Peel Paint Distress Ink, Scattered Straw Distress Ink
Accessories: Spellbinders Floral Accents, Spellbinders Sunflower Set One, Spellbinders Tags 5, Ribbon, Pearls

Oh Becca that is really lovely, and Im sure your friend will get a lot of comfort from it knowing how much time and effort must have gone into it.
Beautiful, as always! You have some fantastic “stuff” to work with, I want to play at your house…..LOL!! Your ideas are amazing, your blog name fits so perfect! As for subscribing, I get your newsletter not once, but twice for some reason, but thats okay with me, I would NEVER unsubscribe! I love all you do and love it that I get a post from you everyday once for sure or maybe more, that way I never miss a thing! Keep up the amazing work you do and showing us all these “goodies” you use…that someday I hope to own, too!
I know what you mean about the bling on a sympathy card. When I see bling I think of excitement, joy, parties, etc. Pearls on the other hand are quiet elegance – soft, demure. I think they were the perfect choice. Your card, as usual, is beautiful.
Beautiful card. Very elegant.
Gorgeous, Becca!!!!! Great colors, textures, and love that spellbinders created flower. Great work!!!
WOW – Stunning!!!
Becca,
I’m not much of a commenter, I’ll try to do better! But I have to comment on this…….you could post more??? hmmmmm…..have at it lady! You could never post too much for me! I absolutely love all of your cards. Your talent is truly a gift from God……and we are supposed to share those, right? That said, if you feel an overwhelming urge to occasionally crank it up a notch……I’m sure we’d all eat it up!
P.S. I totally agree with all of those who don’t think you post *enough*, lol! I’m disappointed whenever I log into Google Reader and there’s not a (1) by your name :-) But then again, we all realize that you do have a life and family outside of your craft room ;-)
A beautiful card, Becca, sorry about your friend’s Mother.
Beautiful card as always. I love hearing from you. You always have beautiful cards and I learn so much from you. That is why I subscribe to your blog. Thanks for all the work you put in to this. It is a lot of work . Thank you

This is a beautiful card. I can think of at least six people I could send this to right now!
I absolutely love your blog. You could never have too many posts as far as I’m concerned! I don’t know how you have time to do it all, but I look forward to each posting! Thank you so much for sharing with us. Your generosity in this is amazing!
Gorgeous beyond words!!
Oh my! That is absolutely beautiful!
Two problems though – first, I clicked on the link for the Spellbinders Floral Accents and it took me to the Spellbinders site but I couldn’t find that set and I WANT IT!!!

Rita
Becca, if I die a premature death (from envy), I’m having my hubby come after you! AAACCCCCCCCCCCCKKK, this is over-the-top exquisite!
This is stunning!!
Becca, Elegant and classy!! It will be such a bleesing to your friend during her difficult time. When you have time, can you explain a little more about how you made the flower?
And keep posting to your blog as often as you like! It is a highlight to my day!! Your projects are so inspiring and the true beauty of your soul shines in your work. There will always be people who try and throw a “snare” it your path, but we are made stronger when we keep our eyes on God and do His will! I really believe your blog is part of your calling in His work!

I just started to view some of your archives and they just keep getting better and better. I’m somewhat of a perfectionist and am amazed at your stamping and cutting ability – it’s perfect. Becca,
I’m one of your newer subscribers – I can tell you that I have been enjoying all the posts – it gives me something to look forward to because I work from home, so my e-mail and IM and Blogs are like my “co-workers” chatting with me. It’s nice to hear from someone other than the dog :D
Your sympathy card is so beautiful. I am sure that your friend and their family will appreciate it. I love it’s elegance and thoughtfulness.
I’m betting that if you changed the sentiment and used some different colors this would also make a smashing birthday or Mother’s day card!
I love cards that can fit a variety of different themes.
Would you consider showing us a step by step tutorial on how you made this one?
I think you are doing a wonderful job! And I don’t mind if you wanna try to “talk my ear off” on your blog :D

Becca, your work is so beautiful. You are truly an inspiration to me. I have started to try to measure my work to yours (always coming up WAYYYYYYYYYY short, but stepping a little closer). Please keep sharing your work and your life with us!! I look forward to this part of my day with such joy.
This card is a perfect blend of grace and beauty. It will surely bring a touch of peace to the heart of your friend, as she knows of your love and prayers for her. I really love your use of pearls and ribbons.

As always, Becca, your cards are so elegant!!! I totally agree that pearls were the right embellishment and they’re so perfect with the ribbon. Love the flower you created. You do come up with some amazing things when you are thinking out-of-the-box! Thanks for sharing.
Is the floral accents from spellbinders no longer available? I can’t seem to find it on their website?
I truly love your paper engineering with spellbinders and punches. It truly is eyecatching and challenging.

Ooooooooo Becca, that is sooooooooo pretty! I love how you made that flower and added pearl accents to it. Love the colors you used as well. I am sure it will bring a ray of sunshine to its recipient.

OMG this is amazing. So beautiful, delicate and strong at the same time. LOVE IT
Becca, Becca, Becca….what a beautiful card! Just right without being overstated…I’m sure the family will treasure it. Did you have a problem layering all the pieces for the flower to secure in the middle? How did you manage it “easily”?
Jan
My jaw actually dropped!! this is super stunning!!
My word!!!!! This is so gorgeous. I’m certain that your friend will cherish this dearly. What a tribute to her mother.
I had looked at the Sunflower die but never envisioned using it in this way. Is it difficult to layer? Thanks again for sharing.
WOW! Elegant, stunning, and GRAND!
Becca, this is a beautiful card and I really like the pearls. I am so sorry to hear though that your friend lost her mother.
I did want to ask a question. I can’t find the ‘Floral Accents’ on Spellbinders’ site. Is it not posted yet?
Barb
Hi Becca, Your sympathy card is outstanding as usual….but you have already heard that 57 times. I wanted to let you know how much I appreciate how easy you have made it to leave a comment on your blog. The comments are already numbered so we don’t have to fiddle around trying to figure that out when entering for blog candy. We don’t have to turn our computer monitors sideways and upside down trying to figure out some silly number and letter code that often appears to be in a foreign language, and smeared with Vaseline with lines running through it. lol…. And we don’t have to choose between five or six different choices of ways to leave a comment….. And, our comments show up right away!! I love it!! Thanks!! Linda
Totally off the charts gorgeous! You always have such creative ways of working with stamps and tools – thanks for all the inspiration! ~chris
That is awsome!
I love to see the use of all the Spellbinder dies and the new stamp set. Your work is lovely and your heart is so sweet. Gosh, and you love the Lord too. Are you a real Angel :)
That is gorgeous. PatG
Stunning and once again sooooo elegant – I love it!!!
Your work is soooo very beautiful. It gives me such inspiration. After seeing your card I went directly to Spellbinders to order the “Floral Accent” and it tells me it can not be found? Is it old?
I know that you don’t want this point belaboured, but I must disagree STRONGLY with you! Your cards should be completely about what you want to explore and do. And WE should just be incredibly thankful for whatever that is! Further, we should be appreciative of any postings – and I am certain that almost everyone is.
You could never post too many for me, but I have much gratitude for every posting – frequency is irrelevant. It is your life – to enjoy, explore, savour and find BALANCE in.
And, while I truly don’t want to offend any other bloggers (I appreciate the efforts of everyone that I subscribe to or visit) yours is my favourite blog (one other does come close). You are amazing!!!
Thank you!
Wow!! Absolutely stunning!
Oh my this is just lovely, what a beautiful flower and love the flower and the pretty stamping and embossing on the leaves, pretty background, she will feel the love that went into this card!

Becca, This card is truly stunning. I just love your work.
What a beautiful card. Understated, elegant, amazing.
Hi Becca, Way behind on blog reading again, so I have not reached the controversial one unsubscribe, but obviously that person isn’t your typical blog follower, because you do not send too many posts. Every one of your posts is a gorgeous piece of art that I always stop to look at. This is not true of many others that I subscribe to. You are one of my favorites and I hope you wouldn’t even begin to change a thing based on one individual. It sounds like you don’t and that is the right attitude! Now for this card — yet another thing of beauty. I see your point with the pearls over the topaz. And where on earth do you come up with these ideas to layer and build flowers and such with random dies and punches. I am in awe.
This is so pretty, Becca!!
This is absolutely beautiful and your choice of the pearls is perfect. Thank you for sharing your beautiful art.
Oh-MY- Gosh! Gorgeous!
