Hi there blog friends. I’ve been burning midnight oil and kicked back this morning before back to creating. I am kind of excited because I have a card to share with you today. Well, that’s right, I have one to share quite frequently, but this one goes into my “go to” pile. It’s not feasible to reinvent the wheel every time you sit down to make a card so every year I like pick out about 4 styles that I can make in a flash. They need to be generic enough that I can translate them into any occasion. I have to admit that it’s not often that I make a card that falls right into that category, but this one today does. And when I say make in a flash, I’m pretty much talking, same stamp set, same lace, same pearls, same banner. I would change up Design paper and maybe the punched border and color of the ribbon. I have been waiting like a kid waits for Christmas to use this stamp set. It’s called Dainty Doilies – Large Set for the top doily and Dainty Doilies 2 – Small Set and is from Waltzingmouse Stamps. Does that Prima Lace not fit it to a “t”?
My medallion for this lacey creation is Spellbinders Lacey Circles, Spellbinders Big Scalloped Circles and Spellbinders Banners. When I finished up, I thought that if I squinted the card would all blend together. I guess that’s my penchant for muted shades. I added the red heart button and twine to give it a little pop! Of course it would not be complete without pearls but I had to stop myself. So do you have a “go to” portfolio of cards so that you don’t miss an occasion? I encourage you to pull together a few – it’s really okay to like your own cards ;-)

i like the idea of a go-to card, sort of like a nora roberts novel – pretty much the same formula with different scenery and names. anyway, i love your card and the lacy looks. i’ll bet waltzingmouse and spellbinders get lots of orders after you post your cards. i definitely want them.

Love this card– and love the idea of having a go to design –I would choose all of yours. I was just getting my cards together for todays card swap at my local stamp store and was wishing that I had a doily stamp set and TADA- here you have one — or two that I must have.

I love making your bows. Yesterday was my mother’s birthday and Grandpa wanted a special card, so I made the bow with four loops and two sets of tails, and built a card around it. I love that bow. It really does look like a butterfly. Today, my friend is building me a bow maker so that I can duplicate your bows for any occasion. Thanks for all your tutorials.

I have just finished going through your blog, All 327 pages. I heard about you from Jenny G about six weeks ago. Since then, I have methodically kept up with where I left off. I just had to see everything! I am in awe of your talent! In the past 6 weeks, I have lived with you through your husband’s illness, your stay in San Antonio and then to my dismay, his going home to be with God last October.
I haven’t been able to watch all of your Becca’s Bits, but I have seen quite a few and have many more that I want to see and even more I want to view again! There are so many things I want to try and SO LITTLE TIME (and money!)
I really don’t have a lot of time and probably less God-given talent. Now, I can do anything I see, but sitting down and coming up with a beautiful card is just not my strength. I find myself doing the same thing over and over again.
Thank you for what you do. It helps me get started and then takes me to so many different endings that I would never get to see on my own.
I subscribed via email yesterday but I doubt I will have to depend on that. I have your blog on my favorites bar and will visit every day.

I love this card for it’s clean, natural look without it loosing it’s old fashion charm! Becca, I’d love to know how you got the two-tone ribbon banner. Did you cut out and place the white onto to tan? If you did, your cutting is so perfect. Please share this technique with us.

Another beauty…I’m gonna try to follow your example to keep a “generic” card that can be worked up in a flash. I’m sure mine won’t be quite the gem that your is, but the theory works. I’m so happy to see that most of the major stamp companies (and dies, too) have come out with a doily set this summer! It makes it so much more convenient to make “girlie” or heritage cards without having to buy/use lace or real doilies. More enabling…..Thanks again for sharing your talent with us!

Your card is stunning. I think the lace goes so well with the LO of the card. I love the sentiment short and sweet and right to the point. The lacy circles are so sweet and rather feminine.
