Hi there friends, I’m back. Lol, I know you didn’t know I was even away; I went to the mountains for some family time. Time with my sweet girl and Bailey was medicine for my soul. Oh, and this Florida girl was snowed in for a couple of days. Even though everyone else hated it, I was just like a little girl on Christmas morning. It was beautiful – the scenery literally took my breath away!! I don’t know why but whenever I’m standing outside in new snow, the crisp stillness of natures glory makes it seem like the whole world is holding its breath. The icy blues and grays are a favorite palette, sigh!
Today I’m sharing a card that I almost finished before I left, it was waiting for some final touches. Actually I threw away my flower because it was my “playing around” version. When I got back I pulled it out of the garbage can and decided to run with it. My card is 5-1/2″ x 7-1/2″ built on a hinged base. On top of that I layered a pretty embossed folder called Spellbinders European Tapestry. My next layer is Spellbinders Romantic Rectangles Two with the second largest die turned 90 degrees on the next layer. Next comes Spellbinders Fancy Tags Two with a sentiment from Wordsworth Stamps. Lastly, my rose from Spellbinders Create A Rose on a bed of flourishes from Spellbinders Foliage Flourish.

Oh jiminy, I get to be your 2nd commenter (if I type fast!). Glad you got to enjoy some snow. It’s fun for us Fla. folk (except now I’m SC!) Am so loving these new S/Binders. And I’d be delighted if my finished flower looked half so good as what you threw in the trash! Stunning, with your usual elegant flair. TFS & Blessings.
Hi Becca. Glad you had a great break. Love the card and your flower is gorgeous. Take care.
Well if my flowers looked like that Becca I would never throw them away!!
Lovely card-glad you had a nice break – and that you have enjoyed the snow -over here it’s rain, rain ,rain!!!
XxRuth
Beautiful card! Glad you enjoyed the snow. There are those of us who have fled to the Southwest for the winter to get away from a record cold and snow year! Thanks for sharing your card……..
Another gorgeous card. Love the rose
NO PROBLEM HERE WITH THE PINKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:) I LOOOOOOOOOOVE THEM!!! AND, I LOOOOOOOOOOVE YOUR FLOWER!!!!!!!!:) I LOOOOOOOOVE YOU WHOLE CARD!!!!!!!! LOL So HAPPY you enjoyed your time in the snow, with your daughter & Bailey!!!:)
Absolutely gorgeous!
Hi Becca,
What a lovely card! Glad you had a lovely break – even in the snow! I love looking at snow in which no one has walked! It reminds me of something written in Birthday Card by a friend when I was quite young! “The future lies before you like a sheet of carded snow; be careful how you tread it, for every step will show!” Very true! I have never forgotten it.
God Bless,
Love Myra
Snow, what is snow? We were blessed to get some rain this week as we are in drought here. Oh I can see your snow, you painted such a beautiful picture in my mind. Love the pink and white, it is never too much. TFS love it.

Oh my goodness this is so gorgeous Becca, and I just love it. You just always deliver, don´t you?
I think, you should try and come here and stay over a winter, then I´m pretty sure, you´ll get more than enough of that cold white stuff some people seems so facinated about. I must admit, I absolutely hate it, as it´s only equal troubles with traffic and problems getting out of here and water and heating and and and I sure wish I lived somewhere where it´s warm all year around, that´s for sure. But that´s probably typich isn´t it? We always want, what we don´t have, guess that´s very normal.
Hope you´ll have a wonderful day and lots of fun now.
I wish my real flowers looked as good as your throw away flowers. Beautiful card, and as always, I love everything you make.
You never disappoint me Becca I love it!
I love the flower! I looks like it came out perfectly!!! I’m so glad you retrieved it from the trash :-) Anyway, this is a gorgeous card, and pink is always wonderful when you get through with it. Thank you so much for posting this beautiful creation!!
Snow pretty! We get some snow in AR, but more ice than snow. Too bad I have to go to work no matter what. Really, it is a beautiful card. Thanks for sharing with us and I too am glad you got a break, we all need one at times. Blessings, Lisa
Becca, this card is pretty! The rose looks so real! About the snow, I love it, too. I live in Colorado and this is snow country!!! The beauty of a fresh snow still takes my breath away. It is simply beautiful…. Much joy!
Hello Becca
Your description of the snow was so vivid I was almost there!
Glad the dog went with you such a peaceful break for you all!
I love the Rose Becca , so sweet !
Wonderful card!

Beautiful ! I never get tired of pink, and you can come to Michigan and have all of this snow.
Hello Becca
Absolutely stunning card. Can’t till we can obtain the new dies. Your rose is beautiful and looks so real, why would you throw it away?? Maybe you could do a video so we could attempt to make one half as nice as yours?? So glad you were able to have a nice retreat and enjoy the beauty of the snow.
Thanks for sharing, Karen
Hi Becca,
Love your card as always and your description of the snow makes my heart ache. Being an Aussie girl from ‘down-under” I can’t even imagine what it looks like. Do you have a picture to show us?
We are having 30 -33 C degree days and the humidity is shocking.
I am picturing the serenity of that place and hope you are refreshed and renewed.
Gorgeous, lovely layering as always and that flower is just gorgeous, will you be showing a video on how these flowers come together!
Glad you had such a wonderful time away with family, we need a dose of that every once in awhile :)
Stunning card Becca, gorgeous design as always :)
Hi Becca,
Such a beautiful card but I’m totally confused – how DID you construct it?
There’s got to be a bit more to it other than what you wrote…….
Are you going to make a video at some point, or tutorial?
As for snow – I know what you mean about fresh snow – I’m a German-born girl of 67 yrs, and know just what you describe….. also LOVE the squeaky sounds that pristine but compacted (because so deep) snow makes when you walk on it. BUT after a month the enchantment fades………
Hugs, Rose
First – don’t apologize for using pink – it’s a wonderful warm color in a very frigid winter!!!
So glad you enjoyed the snow and the winter! While we’re getting tired of it here in Maine (mostly the cold) this morning on my way to work I marveled at the blue/purple sky with the pink sunrise hitting the snow on the tree branches across the way on the hillside and thanked God for the beauty. In summer we don’t see the beauty of the tree branches – just leaves and leaves and leaves. And while I love the lush green – the tree branches coated in white is beauty in itself – white and gray… So I am glad you enjoyed the peacefulness of how the snow hushes the sound, how the air is crisp and clean….and cold… 8-)
This is so pretty, Becca. It may be white paper on your end, but it looks like pistachio green on my ‘outer and it reminded me I really like that combination of a light minty or pistachio green and pink. Lovely card, thanks for sharing! Glad you got some family time and snow, too! I like it as long as I don’t have to shovel it. :)
Joni
Ohhh…and thank you for the card sizes – much appreciated!
Hi Becca, I always feel the touch of God in your hands, Mesmerising is a small word for your creation.
You use whatever color you like, everything you make is beautiful! Sounds like your trip gave you a bit of spring in your step too!
Beautiful card Becca. Love the pink colours. It’s hot here “down under” in New Zealand but we do have a little bit of a breeze this afternoon just to cool things down a tad. Glad you had a nice break away.
Love this – great layers, great bow and great flower. I like it when it has snowed – everything looks really clean and the light is great – until it starts to thaw and you get all the grey mush everywhere! Although we’ve had the wettest winter of all time apprently here n the UK this year, we’ve had no snow where we are – so far anyway! Happy crafting.
Morning Becca, So glad you have managed some ‘family time’, I like seeing snow on cards, but whenever we get snow here, we can’t get out of our estate as we are on an incline and when the snow compacts it is like an ice rink, one January my hubby and I (at our ages) broke up all the ice on our road and moved it all just so that people could get out of the estate to go to work. I have to say that fresh snow is lovely to look at though haha.
Your card is stunning, as always, loving, loving, loving your rose – it is gorgeous.
Lots of love from Patricia xx
Snow is great…when you don’t have to shovel. Wish my throw aways looked like that.
Good morning Becca,
I don’t care if its pink again as it is another beauty of wonder from you yet again. I love everything and especially the rose as i think it is so beautiful and so like a Peony Rose to me. I have some of the scent of Peony flowers that i would spray on it first before i gave it to the recipient. You have made it so life like that it does look so real.
I have the card to be able to start making it up, i just need all the dies and the embossing folder now.
Love and crafty hugs
Norah (Glenochil)
Hi Becca
Another stunning card today. I just love how you use layers to make up your cards, but they still look very delicate. By saying you used a hinged card, I assume that you mean a plain card with the fold on top instead of on the side, and not the hinged filigree that you have a tutorial for. Hope you had a lovely time away with your family. We have had so much rain in the uk and a lot of places are still flooded. I’d rather have snow than all this rain we have had. The rivers are over flowing round by us but luckily we are higher up so it doesn’t reach us.
Don’t worry about two pink cards, they are both gorgeous. I love snow to look at too, it’s beautiful and transforms the countryside in particular. I just wish it wasn’t so cold, and so hard to get around in it.
Hi Becky, what a beautiful card, love pink its so pretty. I love the snow and so far we have not had any in the UK. My hubby keeps saying why do you want it to snow. I love it, reminds me of when my kids where small and we all use to roll in it.
Hugs, Jan xxx
So beautiful, and the rose is perfect. I see what you have created, then have to have the die for it. Thanks for your inspiration, again!
Hi Becca,
Your time in the mountains sound stunning.
Card is beautiful.
