ODBD - Christmas Blessings Card

Hey there!!  Christmas shopping is done right? Not!!  Just checking, lol!!.  I have a card to share today before I need to get some pressing Christmas business done.  In the meantime, squeeeeezing in another Christmas card using the new Christmas sets from Our Daily Bread Designs.  This one is called Christmas Blessings.   I made a peek-a-boo window for the sentiment and used Spellbinders Labels Seventeen as my focal panel.  After I had the card pieces ready to go, I decided I wanted to add a third color – black.  Instead of having to rework the entire card, I added a panel in black to the back of the card to give it a little bit of accent color.  I’ve never done that before and I like it!!

ODBD - Christmas Blessings - Window

I added a row of scallops in my accent color using Spellbinders Classic Scallop Borderabilities Petite and more accent on the inside of my window using Spellbinders Lotus Borderabilities Petite.    I had to go with the green button just to keep it in the Christmas mold.  By the way, I found the funnest thread at Michaels.  It’s luscious embroidery thread that has wire in it.  Go figure!!  I threaded it through my button and then was able to do those crazy squiggles.  I’m saving up for the other colors!!

CARD RECIPE
Stamps:  Our Daily Bread Designs – Christmas Blessings
Paper : The Paper Studio – Mirabella, Bazzill
Ink : Versafine Onyx Black
Accessories : Spellbinders Classic Scallop Borderabilities Petite, Spellbinders Labels Seventeen, Spellbinders Lotus Borderabilities Petite, Ribbon, gems, button, wired embroidery floss

Big hugs friends, I’ll check in with you later!

I just read the previous post and feel so bad that I can’t see the different website! Oh the joy of poor eyesight. I’ve been looking and looking ever since you mentioned you’d be changing things! LOL!! I kept thinking it looked a little different, but I wasn’t sure it was enough to really be the change you would be doing. Oh well… I’m used to not seeing things. This is such a beautiful card!!! I’m glad I can still see it fairly well. TFS!ReplyCancel

  • Pat JandacekDecember 22, 2010 - 7:25 pm

I like it, too! Another thing that always amazes me, besides you, Becca, is the ingenuity shown by the manufacturers of products for the stamping industry. It seems their talent for creating things we NEED that we never knew we had to have is infinite…praise the Lord. The wired embroidery thread or what you did with it, anyway, did catch my eye. Very clever and a gorgeous card over-all.ReplyCancel

Becca, I’ve GOT to ask, do you ever trash a card? Do you ever create a total and complete dud? Have a disaster that there is NO fixing? Everything you post is just so completely gorgeous. Obviously you are going to post what you consider your best work, so just wondered if you ever “missed”! Wishing you the joy of Christmas, and thanks for being so talented and willing to share!
