Friendship Card Making Ideas by Becca Feeken using Quietfire Design and Spellbinders - www.amazingpapergrace.com
… when friendship is formed.  I have been planning to use this stamp for quite some time, it’s one of my hands down all time favorite sentiments.  So much so, that I have it twice.   I had it from another company that retired it but this one is current and and is available from Quietfire Design.  Such a beautiful thought and this sentiment describes that special realization when you have a keeper.  This one goes in my #written word line up for a friend.

I used Spellbinders A2 Tranquil Moments paired with Spellbinders Labels Twenty Eight and Spellbinders Labels Thirty Six.  Believe it or not, the round embellishment is Spellbinders Window Two D-Lite.

Card Making Ideas by Becca Feeken - Quietfire Design
Here’s how I made it – step by step:

  1. Create a card base with cream card stock that measures 5″ x 7″.  (Card bases is made with two pieces of 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″‘ paper scored and glued as in this Hinge Video.)
  2. With cream paper, cut a panel 4-1/2″ x 5-3/4″ and mat it with a lavender moon panel cut to 4-5/8″ x 5-7/8″.  Adhere with cream on top.
  3. Cut/emboss Tranquil Moments from cream paper, rim with Krylon Pen and adhere to cream/lavender panel.
  4. Cut/emboss Labels Twenty Eight with lavender moon.
  5. Cut/emboss two D-Lite Window Two dies and cut off curved top, apply to lavender die cut with glue.  Adhere to previous layer with foam tape.
  6. Wrap ribbon horizontally around card, taping on back.  Adhere grouping to card base.
  7. Cut/emboss Labels Thirty Six, stamp with sentiment, rim with Krylon Pen, adhere to card base with double foam tape.
  8. Attach bow to left corner of card.  Add Flowers and Pearls.

    Becca
Been camping for the last 15-17 days but managed to pack all my dies and embossing folders to let my neice and sister use while here in Ohio. Spent quite a few hours this week cutting and embossing. They have been so thrilled with all of your dies especially. Can’t not buy when it has your name attached. LOL
    Love this card, so beautiful.
I have a question for the parking lot. When you do not have the exact die that you have in your menu, how should one go about improvising for something that we do own? Do you have any pointers for that? Just asking? Do you also know if Spellbinders is coming out with any new Christmas dies this year and if so when?
Hope you have a good week.
    Hugs and prayers,
    Mstgane

Card Making Ideas by Becca Feeken using Spellbinders Petite Lace - www.amazingpapergrace.com
Good morning craft friends!  Just a heads up, on Monday and Tuesday the ole’ blog was getting some needed attention on the back side with all the software being upgraded while things behind the scenes continue to be tidied up (six years worth).  I’ve noticed that my contact form is no longer working :-(  It will be fixed as soon as I can get to it.   In the meantime I’m sharing a card that’s a little bit of a change of pace card.  This one is will have a custom made envelope on my Envelope Board but cutting it slightly thinner will make it fit into a business sized envelope, the card size is 4-1/2″ x 9″.

Card Making Ideas by Becca Feeken - www.amazingpapergrace.com

The die I used to make the border along the left side is Spellbinders Petite Lace and I backed my resin oval with Spellbinders Floral Ovals.  I tried my hardest to fit another die in the mix but it just wasn’t to be :-)  So today is simple, as it needs to be :-).

Here’s how I made it – step by step:

  1. Create a card base with cream card stock that measures 4-1/2″ x 9″.  (Card bases is made with two pieces of 4-1/2″ x 10′ paper scored and glued as in this Hinge Video.)
  2. With light brown paper, cut a panel 4″ x 8-3/8″.
  3. With design paper, cut a panel to 3-5/8″ x 8″ and adhere directly to a cream panel cut to 3-3/4″ x 8-1/8″.  Apply to light brown paper panel above using foam tape.
  4. Wrap lace horizontally around card.
  5. Cut/emboss 2 Petite Lace and apply vertically, then run satin ribbon vertically, attaching a bow on top about midway down.  Adhere grouping to card base with foam tape.
  6. Cut/emboss Floral Ovals and stamp with sentiment.  Glue resin oval on top.  Attach to card using foam tape.
  7. Finish by adding pearls on top of lace and a button on top of bow.

Thanks for stopping by!  Smiling back at you today :-)

Parking Lot Questions:

  1. Bernie K on Comment #3 asked about how to handle all the chads from an intricate die.  Only one answer for that, the Tool-n-One over at Spellbinders will tame all those little pieces.  Have a look at comment #9, lol we’re both on the same page :-)
  2.  Maureen Iacuzzi on Comment #9 asked the source of the Resin Frame.  Maureen, it’s Spare Parts which is a Hobby Lobby brand.  These go on sale for 50% off quite often, so when they do I pick up one or two :-)

I am going to ” my source” since you were the one who started me on Spellbinders years ago. I notice you use wax paper between layering. I have tried that, passing over the die a few times, and am still having trouble with all the small pieces. You are showcasing more intricate, gorgeous dies, but I am hesitant to purchase them. Any other tricks up Becca’s sleeves?
I especially like your card today. It’ says Becca but in a different way. Thanks for all you do.

Birthday Card Making Ideas by Becca Feeken using Spellbinders Corners and Accents Two over on www.amazingpapergrace.com
Good morning sweet friends, I have a birthday card to share today.  You may have figured out that style-wise, I love corners.  They make for some of the easiest cards that can be made because of all the configuration options they afford.  Four corners together make a faux background that you can frame giving you lots of possibilities.  The inspiration for my card came from this fairly new D-Lite, Spellbinders Corners and Accents Two.   I cut the die four times and used a glue dot on the far corners of the motif to square them up and make a frame.  For the interior part of the frame I used Spellbinders Marvelous Squares and I edged it with gold to give it a little bit of pop.  Then I popped up a small frame made using Spellbinders Fleur de Lis Squares and Spellbinders Classic Squares SM.

Birthday Card Making Ideas by Becca Feeken
I used a set of stamps from Anna Griffin that was the perfect square size for my frame.  Then, finished up with pearls, flowers and a bow!

CRAFT SUPPLIES I USED
Rubber Stamps: Anna Griffin
Craft Paper: Neenah Classic Crest – Natural White – 80lb Smooth, Digital Paper from Iralamija
Ink: Versamark and Gold Detail Embossing Powder

Question Parking Lot:

Calli Medved on Comment #22 asked how to isolate the quadrant of digital paper to enlarge it.  Calli, it will depend on which application you use – if working in Photoshop you can open the .jpg then crop just the part of design paper you want then make sure your layer is unlocked.  Create a new blank page the size you want (my panel was cut down to 5-1/2″ square), drag your cropped design paper onto this new page and ‘control-t’ to transform it pulling on the handles to enlarge as needed.  Then print.  Other options include Photoshop Elements and Gimp or the print utility on Windows computers.  Hope this helps :-)

Your cards are always very beautiful, with die cuts that you use to perfection. I have a question that I hope will not offend. You always give the layer information, but sometimes, in fact, quite often, it is very difficult to see what exactly you have done with the layers without doing tons of research to other sites to be able to ‘see’ the cuts you have used. If you could show in your post a picture of each cut as you mention them. I know, a lot more work for you.
I know you link in the supplies list, and that is helpful, but to be able to just see what you are explaining as you go would help so much.

This is beautiful. I downloaded the background paper from Iralamija. But it’s a collage of 4. i can’t figure out how to use just the upper right corner of the collage as your background piece. Any help?ReplyCancel

Your cards are always filled with technique ideas that help us learn and grow….and this one is no exception! I never thought to use the corners to create a frame! Duh!!! I know I have some corners already cut and stored in my “Die Cuts” drawer. Going to go play with the possibilities. Thank you!ReplyCancel

    Good afternoon Becca,
oh what a bonnie card this one is with the beautiful paper behind the beautiful die cut corners. I love it when you go all girly on us because your cards are so sweet and pretty they could do any age of girl from 4 to 104. I hope whoever gets this card on their birthday loves it everybit as much as us.
Thank you Becca for the inspiration that you set on fire when you bring us something new.
    Love and crafty hugs
