Hi there blog friends. I have to admit that holiday preparations already have the best of me. By this point in the year I’ve normally made at least a handful of Christmas cards and tags, but it’s already a catch up race for me. No worries, it’s never too late right (as I think of the people who make holiday cards year round). Today I’m sharing a tag, it’s always a nice and unique finish to a gift and it doesn’t always follow the same constructs as making a card; anything goes. So I pulled out some trinkets, lace, ribbon and such and got to work.
I cut a tag from a rectangular piece of paper 3-1/2″ x 6-1/4″ and lopped off the top left and right edges; it is stamped with an Our Daily Bread Designs background called Christmas Tree Carol. Simple enough. I skirted the tag with a border Spellbinders™ Vintage Lace Accents, then layered with another skirting of lace and velvet ribbon (yum). After gathering a tuft of tulle I glued it along with a seam binding bow to the tag and topped it with a pearl pin laced with three ribbon flowers that came connected as a trim. Using Spellbinders™ Decorative Labels Eight, I stamped the small packages and sentiment from an Our Daily Bread Designs set called Perfect Gift and tucked it in behind the lace. I really mauled the hole I created at the top of the tag so I covered it with a dainty element from Spellbinders™ Venetian Accents.
One down – many, many more to go, lol!

Hoping you are enjoying the wonderful changes in weather and getting ready for the sweet season to come.
Is there anything you cannot stamp on? Today I stamped on wax paper and I was surprised that it worked out just like I wanted. During our last Waltzingmouse Stamps release there was a service issue with the manufacturer and Claire delayed the release until now – it’s in stock! This has been one of my favorites and I’ve loved playing around with the set, but didn’t want to tease needlessly. I’m back with a card today featuring that magnificent seed packet from Vintage Seed Packet ; I wanted some translucence but not the bulk of vellum so made it from wax paper. The template for the seed packet is HERE – since I made mine from wax paper, I simply hand cut it using the template as a guide.
I’m not sure if my wax venture was successful because of the ink I used or the patience exhibited, lol. I simply stamped with Amuse French Roast Ink, left alone for a minute or two then ever so gingerly hit it with a couple of shots from my heat gun. It is fragile, so I tried to keep my hands off of the ink. Not sure if there is any such thing as heat setting on wax paper but I think it made the ink fuse into the wax and settle down. Don’t you just love an experiment? Because I use wax paper with most of my dies now – I never throw out the cutout shapes and now I may be able to set my mind around a suitable use!
For the card I used Spellbinders™ Grand Large Labels for my card base and layered a panel on top of that. Then I created a border piece that I stamped with French Country. To set it apart from my panel I framed the border with Spellbinders™ Frosty Forms. I stamped and mounted my seed packet then cut a panel to fit inside – it’s stamped with the carnation and a sentiment from Vintage Seed Packet also. I topped off the packet insert with Spellbinders™ Decorative Labels Eight as an easy way to grab the panel. As always, pearls seem right at home with a bit of seam binding.

It’s almost therapy to get to play – thanks so much for letting me share. See you soon!!
I am so excited today to be posting a special Birthday Wish to Our Daily Bread Designs owner, Kelley Holland! This is a very special birthday for Kelley, as it’s the BIG 50!!! The Design Teams have gotten together for a Birthday Blog Hop for Kelley, and a special gift as well. We’re so happy to have you join us on this hop… and we hope you will visit each post and leave a comment, because some of the DT members have BLOG CANDY hidden along the way!
For the card I’m showing today to celebrate Kelley’s birthday, I wanted to do something really different so I sat down with ribbon and created some roses, buds and leaves constructed into a spray to run down the left side of the card. Of course the card is on a base that uses Spellbinders™ Diamond Strips and Accents. This is Kelley 50th Birthday so I used both a Happy Birthday sentiment from Mini Tags 3 and The Sky is the Limit from Keep Climbing. Lol, 50 is the new 40 and there’s no where to go from here than up! One of the sentiments is on Spellbinders™ Fancy Framed Tags Two and the other sentiment is on Spellbinders™ Back to Basics Tags. Now below, I have the list of people participating in the hop and all the details for the blog candy.
You have until 8pm EDT Oct. 8th to leave a comment on each blog. The team members who have the candy will be drawing names from those who commented on their post, announcing it on the 10th of October! There will also be an announcement here on the ODBD Blog on Oct 10, telling who had the blog candy and who were the chosen winners. You will need to check that post and notify the Design Team member within 48 hours if you won one of the candies!
So now…. here is the order for the hop:
Thanks so much for helping us celebrate Kelley’s birthday. I hope you are having a wonderful day, I’ll be back soon with more to share!!

Whoo Hoo, I get to make the first comment! Well, that’s so easy because this little creation is so charming. Becca, whether you know it or not with your comments such as on messing up the hole, really help us to see our mistakes and get realllly creative and sometimes, often times, have an outcome that is splendid! This is a darling little tag which someone will really cherish for the holidays!
Beautiful. I love that sometimes you make a mistake too, and enjoyed reading your recovery. Never woulda known if you had not told on yourself! Have a wonderful wkend, and thanks for sharing your always lovely creation.
This is gorgeous, almost a gift in itself. Love the tuft of tulle and the flowers. TFS
What a stunning tag. Love the tulle and those flowers!!
Very beautiful, Becca! The stick pins add the perfect touch. I have been collecting beautiful pins and creating them, for a while, but have not used them in my crafts. It’s time to use them. You are an inspiration! ~Cynthia

Becca, you always make my day. Beautiful!!!
May I ask… have you stopped making videos?
WOW! This is such a gorgeous & elegant tag!
I am so glad I found your blog and have been going back and ooogling over all your beautiful work. This tag is just gorgeous! It would make such a beautiful ornament on a tree and I’d have a really hard time parting with it, for sure.
A few posts back, you mentioned using wax paper when cutting. Can you elaborate on that: Do you put the wax paper on the die first, then the cardstock, or the cardstock first, then the wax paper. Thanks!!!!!
Beautiful tag- wow- love the lace and tulle and pins and ribbon……so fabulous!!!
New reader here, everything you make is beautiful!
Becca,
Your tag is beautiful. It is a gift in itself. Thanks for sharing with us.
Vicky
That is gorgeous!!! I love what you have done, what an inspiration. Keep on posting Christmas items, as I need to get a move on and get some made, keep inspiring me!!!!
gorgeous tag! and I love the little crown its sitting on. Is that made from cardstock or is it really pewter :P
Such a gorgeous tag! The recipient will HAVE to save it!
wow Becca, this tag is amazing.
Oh, Becca, that is just lovely! What a charming tag you have made!! That will be a beautiful addition to a gift, in fact it could be considered an additional gift! It is just so pretty. So glad you also occasionally “maul” something on your art….but you have the creativity to fix it! Good goin’, Girl!!
so beautiful…
With such a gorgeous tag, who needs a gift! This is a piece of art. Thank you for sharing.
This is beautiful Becca!!!
Beautiful tag. You do such gorgeous work. I love stamps from Our Daily Bread Designs, however the scripture reference on this sentiment stamp is incorrect. It should be James 1:17 not John 1:17
I love the flowers on this one! So, so pretty. Great job, again, Becca!
I have a question, Becca. Regarding the stick pins and flowers: is the floral ensemble removeable from your cards and this tag, so that it could be worn as a corsage? They are so beautiful all by themselves that I’d love to be able to do that.
What a gorgeous tag Becca. I love that venetian element over the hole — sometimes fixing “mistakes” leads to even better things!
I think tags are so much fun to make. I love all the layering of elements found in this dainty beauty. I especially love the roses and tulle.
Your tag is so so pretty Becca. It is like sweet confectionary. Beautifully put together. Nicola x
Your tag is drop dead gorgeous!! Loving all the details to it!
Beautiful as always. What a lovely addition to a gift this will be. Definitely a tag I would save!!! :) good luck getting all of your Christmas tags or cards completed. I haven’t started mine yet either – kinds getting nervous about that myself.
You have been missed … hope you are feeling better!
Becca,
Your cards and tags are so gorgeous. I love seeing what you have created. I am so glad to hear you are feeling better. Looking forward to many more posts from you. Thank you for sharing your beautiful creations.
